If you're into kink and taboo themes, then I'm sure you've seen this book floating around recently. Personally, I was too intrigued by the age gap not to grab this one up as soon as it came out. 18 to 56.... that's a big one. Gotta break out the calculator to figure it.

And, yes. Mind the warnings. It's intense. Turns out that "watersports" is so very very NOT my thing. There are two scenes involving this theme, and your girl was grossed out. Big time. However, I'm not factoring that into my rati If you're into kink and taboo themes, then I'm sure you've seen this book floating around recently. However, I'm not factoring that into my rating at all, because I knew what I was in for. Just trust me when I say that, unless this is something that you're actively looking for in fiction, you're probably not going to enjoy it.

Besides that, the book was H.O.T. A total scorcher. And the vast, vast majority of it is these two getting it on in all kinds of kinky ways. For a book to be so long and so filled with sex, it's a wonder that it never got dull. Ms. Rue sure kept things interesting between Valley and Riggs. Erotica-wise, I was into it.

But there were some things that I didn't like. Valley was pretty cool, and I liked how confident she was in her sexuality. I may have a hard time believing she's 18 but, whatever. She was a breath of fresh air in a cast of characters that were otherwise extremely one dimensional and confusing. Riggs was a total asshole to her throughout most of the book. One scene in particular, where he just leaves her after some heavy sexual punishment, had me hating him. At some point he flips and becomes a different dude that you can kind of like. But it didn't make up for his behavior and was never really mentioned. So it was hard for me to get on board with that.

I think this would have worked a bit better if it didn't strive for a real relationship and an HEA. I mean, the age gap is pretty ridiculous. I don't think I ever believed these two would be more than a kinky fling. The two of them entering a real relationship and seeing how others dealt with it was rushed and completely nonsensical to me. I definitely could have done without all that.

Anyway, read this if you dare. There were many sexy scenes that I really enjoyed, but not everything. And the rest of the story fell a little flat for me. I'm glad I read it, because now I know that watersports has NOTHING to do with jet skiing. 😉 ...more

I am going to try my best not to make this review X-rated, but no promises. And hell, you only live once. I have been counting the days down to the hours and stalking Seven Rue for any information on this book. I love age gap books, and when I read a 38-year difference, sign me up, then a ton of kinks on top, I was flying my freak flag. Bring it on. Now there is a lovely storyline behind it all. Seven Rue balanced the smut with romance perfectly.

I can not stress enough; there is a trigger warning at the begging of the book. This book is not for everyone, and that is okay. I will, however, give you a warning, have extra panties on hand; you will need them. Some scenes will push your limits and make you uncomfortable. These are the books I strive for.

Valley, 18 years of age. My girl. She knows what she wants, goes for it, and doesn't apologize for it. She is smart, wise beyond her years, doesn't shame anyone, not afraid to express herself sexually. She is a dirty bird and kinky af. Valley is a college student and a cam girl that only her best friend knows.

Riggs, 56 years of age, best friend to Valley’s father. He fucking ruined me. It should be a sin to be that handsome and have so many wonderful kinks. He is a broody ass who cares more than he leads on. He is the king of Alphas.

Valley hasn't seen Riggs in a year, and when she lays eyes on him, she wants to sleep with him and makes it her mission. Riggs, who is attracted to her, thinks she is too young.

“See it as a compliment, Riggs. Out of all these men, young and old, you’re the one I would wanna fuck.”

He figures she wants to play, then she will play by his rules. Yes, please. Because Damn. 🥵Their relationship has many ups and downs; at one point, I had PTSD with my Catholic upbringing. It was just a friendly reminder not to shame.

“This is how it’s going to be from now on, Valley. I fuck you whenever I want to, wherever I want. And we will both come. I don’t care how or when, but when I fuck you, I’ll please us both,” I promised her, making a small and exhausted smile appear on her lips.

Fifty-Six is one of my top five books of 2020 and my favorite book from Seven Rue. I want to thank her for writing this book and pushing people's limits. I will add many times I kept yelling, “ Fucking yes, thank God she added this. “ Thank for the urine play, daddy kink, edge play, anal play, breath play, and all the filth, Somethings in this book you don't read in other books, and that is okay. But I like reading and appreciate it. All and all, there is a great storyline, and I loved all the characters.

This book kept me awake all night and not in a good way....

So, my friend got me really excited for this book and I thought, why not? Anti-kink shaming and embracing sexuality is something we all need in our lives.

Therefore, I start reading it and there I am, enjoying all the smut and kinky scenes! There is breath play, scat play, spanking, spitting, anal, rimming and our run-of-the-mill, penis and vagina colliding sex scenes.

But when I a *spoiler alert* one scene described in detail

This book kept me awake all night and not in a good way....

So, my friend got me really excited for this book and I thought, why not? Anti-kink shaming and embracing sexuality is something we all need in our lives.

Therefore, I start reading it and there I am, enjoying all the smut and kinky scenes! There is breath play, scat play, spanking, spitting, anal, rimming and our run-of-the-mill, penis and vagina colliding sex scenes.

But when I arrived at 62%, all that liking for Valley turned my stomach. There is a scene where Valley's (the FMC) mother comes to her room to check on her. Now, she is a good, boundary respecting mother and she knocks on her door and asks if everything is alright cuz there are noises coming from inside that sound painful (the fmc is having sex with MC). And what Valley does is open the door slightly, stand behind the door(she is fully naked) and intentionally places her hand on the door in plain sight of her mum which has a vibrator in it, mind you, just to show her that she was 'pleasuring herself' . I was like, WTF?!!!!

Now, it's 3 am and I am lying on my bed with my kindle, thinking....what if I am narrow minded about this stuff and it is okay? Masturbation IS pretty common after all.
......but then I thought hard about it and in all different aspects, I wanna point out IT. IS. NOT. OKAY. !!!!

Yes, parents have a conceptual understanding that children masturbate but they don't wanna witness that or have that thrown in their face. (Just like children know their parents have sex, but they definitely don't wanna see or even imagine that unless they like to bleach their fucking eyes)
I read a few more pages to see if Valley felt guilty maybe, but then, there is her mother reacting wrongly to this whole debacle and saying masturbation is unholy cuz she is religious. Then, Valley goes on a full rant about how masturbation is okay, her mother shouldn't shame her and how Valley doesn't really have religious beliefs herself so she is not gonna feel guilty about all of this.
There is so much wrong with that whole scene that I can't even...!!!!! This is actually manipulative to make the readers feel guilty if they felt that Valley was wrong.

Ugh, i just wanna say....Valley WAS wrong and yes, her mum could've reacted better but that doesn't make Valley justified.

Another thing...I really wanna THROAT PUNCH the MC. He was no alpha or dominant; he was an asshole, plain and simple. Here, the book isn't in the wrong cuz it is mentioned that Valley has a degradation kink and how the MC behaves actually turns her on...but I (for me and myself) really wanted to punch the guy. Maybe also kick him a time or two. Damn, this book is driving me to violence.

Also, Valley is not mature, just wanna put it out there. She gave her number to strangers and let them drive her home so they knew her address. Not mature!

This was my first book by Seven Rue and I don't think I did a good job choosing the book. This is why I will give myself and the author one more chance and read another book. ...more

And the fact that the FMC just has to repeatedly coerce and force her bestie to ‘come out of her shell' and ‘to have fun'. Ugh, I’m sorry to burst your bubble Valley but some of us like to stay at home and not create drama.

• Why is Valley portrayed as a badass and mature girl when her actions time and time again prove that she is an immature brat with no control or a presence of common sense. She doesn’t realise the very many dangers of her lifestyle, keeps coercing Kennedy to also do the same. She is one of the most forgetful POV's I’ve ever read. And her pseudo thirst for 56 is eww. Can we all just acknowledge that her behaviour with 56 was very much inappropriate and could have in any case landed her in big trouble . It could also have lead to him losing his reputation.

• Let’s talk about Mr. 56 or Riggs. He is so weird. I *love* how Rue tried to make Riggs a non creepy bastard but failed so spectacularly. He is so weird, strange, creepy and paedophiliac bastard. Like he is antithesis of a romance male lead. What is this? Lolita? And who are you? John? Goodness, he was nauseating.

• I literally stuck through the book for the good sex but half way through I just couldn’t take the hypocrisy, immaturity and bigotry in this book.

Gonna end this one with an advice, if you’re reading this for the sex go on. But do not for the life of me expect a good plot or even barely likeable characters. ...more

The only thing I liked in this book was Riggs and sexual encounters were fine, mostly hot and I didn't have any issues with them. Valley was just immature (it's funny how many times author tried to deny it), but she is 18 years old, so there is no arguing that she is just young and eager for sexual exploration.

I finished this book this morning, and while this was my first Seven Rue book, it definitely won't be my last! There's nothing I love more than a woman embracing her sexuality, and that was Valley in spades. She's a cam girl that is open for every kink possible, while having an affinity for older men. When her dads friend moves back to their hometown, Valley sets her sights on him, but has our kinky Valley-girl finally met her match? Riggs was a very gruff, very dominant alpha male who never saw Valley coming (but now desperately wants to😉) With their age gap being so large -- 38 years to be exact -- he's hesitant to get involved. But he can't allure the temptation for long, and their sexual relationship goes from 0 to 100000 VERY quickly. This is seriously one of the hottest books I've ever read, and I loved how neither of them judged the other for whay they liked.

This isn't a soft, sweet romance, nor is that who Valley and Riggs are. They are rough and dirty in ever sense of the word, but they doesn't mean they didn't have their emotional moments, because they definitely did! And I loved seeing the softer side of Riggs and how much he adored Valley.

Another thing that was a breath of fresh air was that Valley didn't have some sort of traumatic event/past that pushed her to like older men. She just knew what she wanted and went for it, and made no apologies for that. Plus her relationship with her best friend Kennedy (whom I need more of!!) Was so great! They were complete opposites, but loved each other so much. And watching Valley bring up Kennedy's self confidence whenever she could made me adore her even more.

The only reason why I rated this a four star was because of that pissing scene. I am in no way kink-shaming, but that pushed my limits just a bit. That's in no fault to the author because she definitely warned us, I just wasn't expecting that.

All in all though this is a VERY sexy age gap romance that will have you needing your biggest vibrator and/or partner multiple times. Just keep an open mind and enjoy the ride! ...more
