Pssst...In case you aren't aware, I am not a Twenty-Something or even a Thirty-Something. Nope, those days have passed. But that does not make me an old fuddy-duddy, quite the contrary. I have been known to get down with the best of them...maybe needing help getting up but...I digress, hahahahahaha

What I am saying is those who are not New Age or a little bit older still want love...all types of love.

Dani is a divorcee, former teacher, desperately looking for a new job/career to support her and her 19 year old daughter.

Matt is a fantasy writer whose series has been made into a hit TV show (think G.R.R Martin and Game of Thrones), but he seems to have a bad case of writer's block and his personal assistant has shipped him off to a holiday rental house/mansion to meet his Christmas deadline for the third and final book in the series.

Matt is a writer of a very popular fantasy book series that pushed him to fame when it was made into a TV show. He's currently under a strict deadline to finish the next book he is less than excited about writing.

This was a cute, PG Hallmark-esque holiday romance. Matt is the author of a fantasy series-turned hit tv show a la Game of Thrones. He's on deadline and hiding out in a small resort town. Dani is a recently divorced mom searching for her chapter in life. She's hired as the cook/housekeeper for Matt for the weeks leading up to his deadline.

There was a lot of plot packed into this novella. Almost too much for me - I sometimes felt the author set up some scenarios but didn't follow them through. A

In the aftermath of a painful interview disaster, writer of a famous fantasy series becomes a recluse and moves to a small town for the holiday. His assistant insists on a personal chef to keep him fed while he works on the next very anticipated book of now not only a book series, but also the next season of an acclaimed tv show. As luck would have it, his only inspiration comes when she's around. Dani Cooper is a newly divorced and brok

This book is an adorable Hallmark-style romance with mature adults. It was a refreshing to have two main characters in their 40s at two different points in their lives coming together to make it work in a modern world. There’s the age of social media and influencers that are explored somewhat throughout the story as both main characters have their own relationship with different platforms and the side characters, two of which have strong social media presences. The overall novel is light-hearted ...more

I received an advanced copy of Write Before Christmas by Julie Hammerle from Entangled Publishing, LLC after volunteering to write a review on Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was drawn in by the quirky cover art and book description, and the story did not disappoint. This is an adorable story about Matt, a writer whose recent book-to-screen television adaption launched his career into the public eye on a level he isn't all together comfortable with. Write Before Christmas was such an enjoyable read. The characters were likable and well fleshed out, and the plot and the romance were fun and realistic.

One of the things I appreciated most about this book was the age of the characters - they were both in their mid-forties. Dani was a recent divorcee with a college-aged daughter, and she needed to find work for the first time in years. Matt was an established author who had been writing for the last two decades, and who had only recently found

Fun Holiday Romance with a fresh premise. Matt is a writer who had very little commercial success until his book series was optioned for a television show (this is a clear nod to Game Of Thrones). I you're like me, Thanksgiving hits and you're scrolling thru Netflix looking for all the Hallmark and Lifetime movies you can find. The story follows writer Matt who has a hit television show (think of something along the lines of Game of Thrones, and exactly along the lines of how George R.R. This was certainly a cute, short and sweet Christmas romance novella, but I just didn't feel as swooned as I thought I would. While I did really enjoy the characters and their POVs, I didn't connect with any of them majorly. I felt like some of the plot was rushed, while other points were repeated far too many times (the money thing, for example... we get it.). It just wasn't as equally laid out as I would have liked. Also, the storyline with Matt and his book is

For such a short book there's a lot of plot packed in it. It's a cute Christmas-y romance that follows two people in their 40's.
