Wes Kaplan is rich, entitled, and a total pain in my ass.
It’s been five years since graduation, but one look is all it takes to confirm he hasn’t changed a bit. Aside from the sinewy muscles and sexy tattoos, which definitely do not make my heart flutter.
Wes may be a hot-shot Olympic climber now, but I see right through the hometown hero façade. He’s the same guy who lived to get under my skin when we were kids. And no matter how hard he tries to convince me otherwise, I don’t have time for distractions. Not when this whole town is waiting for me to fail—just like my father.
But I’ve got this. All I have to do is make sure Beaumont's inaugural Indie Week event goes off without a hitch. Because in a town where gossip spreads faster than pollen on the wind, the only thing worse than hooking up with your uptight boss’s son is falling for him.
Jennifer Bonds is the USA Today bestselling author of sizzling contemporary romance with sassy heroines, sexy alphas, and a whole lot of mischief. She’s a sucker for enemies-to-lovers stories, laugh-out-loud banter, and over-the-top grand gestures. Jennifer lives in Pennsylvania, where her overactive imagination and weakness for reality TV keep life interesting. She's lucky enough to live with her own real-life hero, two adorable (and sometimes crazy) children, and one rambunctious K9. Loves Buffy, Mexican food, a solid Netflix binge, the Winchester brothers, cupcakes, and all things zombie. Sings off-key.
This was a very well-written story. I won't spoil it for any readers, but I loved the depth behind both characters and the fact that there was so much beyond both of their on the surface stories. Their banter and chemistry made this a fast and enjoyable read. Great story with a happy ending!
What!? Did it say somewhere that this was just the prologue of a story? I was so confused when I looked down just when the story was getting going, and my kindle said I was at 92%? Say what!? Well… it was cute for what it was but it’s confusing unless you know.
Great premise...,just felt this was the terrific staert of a novel as opposed to a quick splayimg of a prologue. Stay with it...greater things lie to be nurtured and awakened. Hopeful authpr!!
