FORGET ABOUT ME, a nostalgic romantic comedy
Boston Classics #2

Ben Porter may be living the dream, but it’s not his.

His dad’s health scare might not be the ideal reason to come home for the summer, but it’s a welcome break from the stellar glitz of Ben’s life in Los Angeles. Even if modeling has him rivaling Marky Mark’s fame, posing isn’t his passion. Landing a role with

I loved this audiobook! Listening to this book just made me happy and I couldn't get enough. I enjoyed the first book in this series and had expected to like this book just as much. I ended up liking it even more than the first. I think that Lucy and Ben's story just clicked for me and the superb narration was able to take the story to the next level. I am so glad that I decided to listen to this book.

Forget about me is the second book in the Boston Classic novels series and can be read as a stand-alone but I’m going back to read the first one as well because I’m hooked to know more about these characters.

My favourite trope is second chance romance and this book has a bit of everything. From great character development, angsty moments, a cute meddling puppy and the expected laugh out loud moments to a beautiful love story of redemption and chemistry between them after so many years apart.

11/19/2020: Update - Audiobook! (Goes live on Monday, 11/23!)

Dual narration by Brian Pallino and Emma Wilder was fantastic. While I loved the narrators for What I'm Looking For - I like Grey's decision to give each couple in the series their own narrators. Pallino & Wilder both do a wonderful job on a variety of voices, accents, and emotions. While I truly enjoyed the book when I read it - the audio brings it up another level. I was brought to tears and laughed out loud. There's a "tape rewind"

* Best friends sister? Check.
* Next door neighbours? Check
* Second chance romance? Check.
* This one checks out all the fun tropes and if that isn’t enough to convince you let me tell you that there is a really cute adorable absolute chick magnet of a dog in this one to make this a delight to read about! Our boy plays a big role in bringing these two together which was really fun and lovely to read about.

* I really liked the characters as well, the human ones haha. Ben and Lucy both were admi

I grew up in the 80s, so I pretty much love all things to do with that decade. This story was a lot of fun to read with all of those little tidbits in it. I really liked the dynamic between the characters and the way the author played it all out. Of course the dog Puck added so much levity and sweetness to the story, even a bit of heartache towards the end. Which really layered on some of the drama even as Lucy and Ben were coming to realize what they’d done wrong and needed to fix. And I have t ...more

Ben has come home. Sure it's to care for his father, but in the back of his mind is his first and only love, Lucy, his best friend's sister, the girl he walked away from when she needed him most. When he has to take his new found dog to the vet and Lucy's working there, will she give him the time of day or act as if he's a stranger, which he kinda is considering how long it's been since they knew each other.

When I saw this was set in the 80s, I knew I had to read it,

Once again, Karen Grey transports readers back to the late 1980’s, complete with corded telephones and mix tapes. As a child of the 80’s, I found myself chuckling at the random out-of-date references and remembering with utter fondness the process of making a good mix tape. The setting works for the story without feeling forced or overwhelming the reader with constant reminders of the time period. Although set in the recent past, Ben and Lucy’s story is completely relevant and would work as a co ...more

Author Karen Grey has done it again. She’s taken me on a trip to the 80s in the best way. The blast from the past vibe is fresh and nostalgic without being overdone. It’s a perfect balance and it made me so happy while reading.

Ben and Lucy have been friends since he was 9 and she was 6. The summer she turned 18 they had a secret relationship. Then tragedy struck and they haven’t seen each other in seven years.

Ben came home to Boston from his underwear model life in LA to take care of family. Bu

Another fantastic story set in the 80s by Karen Grey. This is the second book in the Boston Classics series. The first book in this series, What I'm Looking For, was one of my favorite books of the year. If you have not listened to the audiobook version of that book, please do yourself a favor and take a listen.
This story is a second-chance story focusing on another member of the Shakespeare Boston theater. A tragedy ended their budding relationship many years ago and it was beautiful they way

Being an 80's baby, I appreciate the references and the songs in this book (I'm gonna need that playlist!) Forget About Me is book 2 of the Boston Classics series showcasing Ben and Lucy's 2nd chance love story. Karen Grey does an amazing job with their character development and issues surrounding drunk driving. I personally loved the rewind tape sound whenever there's a flashback (very clever) and how an injured dog brought the two together again (loved Puck!).

This was narrated by Emma Wilder a

This was a little hit and miss for me. I liked Ben and Lucy individually, and as friends, but I’m not convinced they work as a couple.
I wasn’t a fan of the religious scenes, I understand Catholic guilt, and the loss of someone important, but I did like the second, slightly progressive priest. But both Ben and Lucy feel guilty for something out of their control and guilt is nothing if not a blanket we wrap around ourselves to avoid the world at times.
I enjoyed Ben reconnecting with his father an

Loved this walk down memory lane!
Karen has done it again. I love how she weaves 80s everything into her books to give us a glimpse into that period in time along with another powerful story. This is Ben & Lucy's story about young love with bad timing mixed with a family tragedy that has Ben running away to avoid dealing with it and Lucy wrapped up in her own guilt and trying to atone by becoming the 'perfect ' daughter. They inevitably find their way back into eachother's lives when Ben comes ba

This series is just wonderful. The 2nd book was as amazing as the first one. I loved the emotions between the characters, and the feelings it evoked in my cold heart. Also going back to the 80's, and 90's spending time with no smartphones and listening to mixtapes with some awesome tunes was just awesome and really refreshing. Add to that some Shakespeare in the background, and I was sold. Also The Two Gentlemen of Verona was such an unusual choice to show in a romance, that I was even more exci ...more

4.5 stars!! I listened to the audiobook. By chapter 3 , I had youtube fired up and playing the referenced song for each chapter. Can you tell 80s music is my jam? This was a great listening experience. Well written story with believable characters made this a well worth it listen.

Synopsis: Ben Porter and Lucy Minola have history. And they haven’t seen each other in almost seven years, so all that history is a little fraught. Now that they’re back in each other’s lives, for better or worse, they need to figure out how to navigate everything. And it’s a lot more complicated than they both thought possible.

⭐️Forget about me⭐️

This book has surprised me in every possible way... I didn't know the author, but I got a good taste of it with this book

I have to highlight two things that I liked very much about this book, the first one the setting, it is completely set in 80's I wasn't even born for that moment, but the experience of transporting you to that time was magical, because everything fit perfectly. And the second one, are the little tapes that appear at the beginning of each chapter, and it's th

Though I think I liked the first book in this series more I still really enjoyed this one.

This is a second chance romance about Ben who ran off to Los Angeles after his best friend died in a car crash because he believed it was his fault and doesn’t think that Lucy, his friends sister, would be able to forgive him. Now he has come home because his dad needs him after a health scare. He is also using this time to reflect on his career because he has always had a love for the theater and being a m

New to me author, Karen Grey has a fun and sweet writing style that draws you in & definitely makes you laugh.
This is the trope of best friend’s little sister/big brother’s best friend and with the 80s nostalgia it gives it a different flair. I didn’t necessarily think it HAD to be set in 80s but there were certain conventions that made it a more plausible story and definitely one that I really enjoyed. Neither Lucy nor Ben were unlikable or unreasonable and I could see why they mig

I loved everything about this book! I had listened to "What I'm Looking For", the first book in Karen Grey's Boston Classics novel, and just loved all the 1980s nostalgia references. "Forget About Me" might have be even better. This story is once again set in the 1980s Boston. It focuses on Ben and Lucy. Ben is an underwear model, and Lucy is veterinarian technician. They have a past, and its a quite painful past. Ben and Lucy had a secret romance seven years prior to when the books begins. Afte ...more

(audiobook) That was fun. And sad. And beautiful. And smart. A real rollercoaster! I loved every second of it.

The narration was on point. Emma Wilder’s quavers bring the characters’ emotions to life. You can’t help but feel with them. Oh so many feels! The sound of a rewound tape that announces flashbacks was a stroke of genius, as it serves its purpose while giving an 80’s touch to the narration.

The whole story revolves around Puck, the stray dog found by Ben. He gives a new meaning to Ben’s li

This book was just as cute as its cover and synopsis led me to believe! Plus puppy (yes, I am a simple minded individual)! But this book has all of the fun tropes that reel you in and hook you and the characters are all so relatable and fun! PLUS, (I know, it gets better) it’s set in the 80s! And anyone who knows me knows thats one of my favorite time periods.

So this book is a second chance romance, and while admittedly that isn’t my favorite trope I have to admit that the second chance books I’

I really enjoyed this delightful, and touching, second chance romcom. Ben Porter has been in love with his best friends little sister for years. They had a passionate secret affair before Lucy left for college. They thought it would be easy to be apart as they experienced life. The guilt they both suffered was too much and Ben moved across the country hoping it would be best for everyone, but it only broke their hearts mo ...more

Wonderful second chance love story

I loved this look into Lucy and Ben’s past and how these two find one another again. The book deals with some serious real life emotions and how each of us always have our own perspective of events in our past. A lost puppy Puck, beings Ben and Lucy back together again seven years into the future.

Forget About Me was a sweet second chance romance with a dash of 80’s nostalgia. Ben and Lucy had a secret romance when they were teenagers, but they were torn apart by tragedy. When they meet seven years later, can Lucy find it in her heart to forgive Ben for leaving when she needed him most?

This is the first piece of work I have experienced by this author. As a young adult of the 80’s, this second book in the Boston Classic series (standalone) was very appealing. Mixtapes-and songs I know all the words to as well! I love the brother's best friend/second chance tropes and the author has written this so well.
