Tara Singleton was perfectly happy with her life, right up until the moment she cut the cake at her birthday party. As everyone cheered, her husband sheepishly admitted he’d lost everything, they were flat broke. And he was leaving her for his pregnant mistress, a personal trainer young enough to be his daughter. Thank goodness their three children are grown with lives of their own.

Instead of looking forward to traveling and reconnecting with her husband when he retired, she’s going through a divorce and starting over. Tara desperately grasps the only option left and moves to Blueberry Hill. A small town nestled in the mountains of North Carolina, nothing like the big city she’s leaving behind. The same rearview town she swore she’d never set foot in again. A forgotten cottage, bequeathed by a distant aunt almost twenty years ago, becomes a lifeline.

Her oldest son, Evan, lives across the country with his wife. He’s on the fast track at his company, and just found out his wife is expecting their first child. Everything he’s ever wanted is within reach.

Ally, the middle daughter, has floundered in her career and relationships. When she finds out about her parents, she wants nothing more than to be there for her mom, even if it means taking sides.

Then there’s Christina, the baby of the family. The news hits her the hardest, causing her to take a hard look at the relationship she’s in with a man who can’t seem to commit.

Take a leisurely drive though the winding mountain roads, relax in a rocking chair on the front porch of the general store with a glass of sweet tea, and get to know the quirky residents of Blueberry Hill. Cynthia Luhrs spends her time out on the deck, looking out over the mountains, imagining what if. She writes women’s fiction, time travel romance, contemporary romance, family sagas, paranormal romance, and thrillers. Readers say her books (well not the thrillers, those are gritty) are light-hearted reads to escape reality.
She lives in the mountains of North Carolina, has always been a reader, and is overly fond of sparkly flip flops and pretty pens. Though now that she lives in the mountains she’s going to have to find fabulous boots, mittens, and hats!

Blueberry Hill is the first book by Cynthia Luhrs I have ever read. I am, however, glad that I got to discover her. I have always loved to read sweet, heart- warming and uplifting stories rather than dark ones, mainly because of the sense of hope they tend to give, generally towards life and towards relationships. Because of this, this is one author who, I will always want to read (only the sweet romances like this book, though).

This book is the first in a series which describes the first step a woman, Tara Singleton, takes into the unknown after being divorced by her husband after many years of life. Her children's life is going through many changes at the same time and one of them has already moved into Blueberry hills as well, along with Tara. And I think the story is progressing towards her other children also moving to this place.

This book mainly showcases Tara, trying to find herself and her place in the world, after having the ground falling from under her feet. Her journey to self enlightenment and living for herself, is so uplifting and inspiring at the same time. It just left me in such a good mood by the end of my reading and I couldn't just contain the joy inside me. This book is recommended for anyone who is looking for something to pass away time in a good and stress-free manner.

I particularly loved the description of the place very much. Everytime the author describes Blueberry Hill, I just want to reach into the pages and jump inside to just soak it's atmosphere into me. Along with Rose Pearson, she is another author whose work I am going to devour more.

This is the first book I have read by Cynthia Luhrs and I have to say I am now a forever fan. This book is amazing I absolutely loved it. I truly had a hard time putting this book down to do anything else. I am dying to find out what happens in the next book which I have already preordered. I absolutely love Tara and her kids. I hope they all find their way like Tara and Ally have and move to Blueberry Hills. Tara truly comes out of her shell and finds out what kind of phenomenal woman she is through her trials and tribulations. She also helps her kids find their way in a gentle and loving way, the mom you wish you had growing up. The house on the lake seems idyllic and I can picture myself sitting on the dock with them. This is a must-read.

My first time reading this author, but what a great series to be my first. I had a hard time putting the book down. Tara and her family have me hooked in. Her ex-husband, not so much. After he dumps a bunch of bad news in her lap, she moves from Florida to North Carolina.

I love the characters that make up the small town of Blueberry Hill. To see Tara change after settling in once she arrived, she thrives in the small town life. Her kids are adjusting to her move and see the positive for their mom. Can Blueberry Hill, NC be where they all thrive? I love the positive changes and successes we are seeing with Ally and her mom. The visuals in my mind have me wanting a home on the lake as well. A recommended read, and I am excited to read book two!

What a lovely beginning to a new series. This is my first time reading Ms. Luhrs but it won't be my last. This was a fairly quick read but it packed quite a lot in. Loved Tara and her grown children. They are great characters. I also loved the setting of the small town of Blueberry Hill. As a native North Carolinian I can easily picture the town with all of the quaint shops etc. It was very entertaining seeing how they all dealt with major changes in their lives. Looking forward to reading more about them.

Ahhhhh…reading a new Cynthia Luhrs book is like having a cool sip of sweet tea on a hot summer day! The family dynamic in this story was done amazingly, the town of Blueberry Hill sounds like a place I’d like to go and I’m excited to find out what happens in the next in this new series! Tara has three grown children and at her birthday party, her husband asks for a divorce because he is marrying his pregnant girlfriend. This is a story of starting over and learning about yourself. The characters are well defined and have great backstories and strong feelings about life. The storyline follows Tara to Blueberry Hill in NC, where she finds a small town with wonderful characters and shops. Changes in both her life and her children are documented like they are your family so you feel close to the story. Can not wait to see where this series goes from here.

Although this book didn’t start off in the best of moods for the main character, Tara her husband has been cheating on her and he blew all their money. Instead of traveling to exotic places she starts her life again in a small North Carolina town.
She turns her life around and so does her daughter .
This is a fun uplifting book leaving me to want more.

I’ve read several of Cynthia Luhrs books about time travel ,the Knight books but this is the first book like this.
Bravo for taking the leap in a different direction.
I can hardly wait for the sequel.
If you like Nicolas Sparks you’ll love this.

This book showed up in my Kindle feed. The cover appealed to me, so I read the sample and got sucked into the plight of the characters and the smooth writing voice. I purchased the book and read it right away; the story moved along swiftly. The cabin and its environment are idyllic; a place where it's fun to imagine living. The struggles that initially seemed like negative life events prompted personal progress in the characters, and the self-discovery that occurred motivated me to keep reading. It's a light, hopeful tale that will have you wanting to know the next chapter in this family's life.
