About the author

E.M. Shue is an Alaskan award-winning romance author. She writes in many different sub-genres but always features badass heroines in gritty situations. As the mother to three grown daughters and two granddaughters she wants readers to be able to see that tough girls can have happy endings too. She is married to the love of her life of over twenty years who she married within months of starting to date, instalove is real.

I really enjoyed this read about David and Rachel. This was a steamy romance and a second chance love story kind of. David was a dominant so I thought there would be a little more kink to the story but it only included a little bit of tying up. The story was short and exciting with Rachel getting taken for a little while. This was a very enjoyable read and now I want to read the other stories in 'Love on the Sunshine Coast' world. I received a review copy of this story and am leaving a voluntary honest review.

Wow, this book was incredible! EM has done it again. Once I started, I couldn’t put it down. When David saw Rachel, he had to have her. He just had to convince her. This book had it all, romance, some suspense, and extremely steamy moments. This book might have been short, but it sure packed a punch. I highly recommend this!

I loved visiting the coast with these characters and seeing the crossover between the author's other series. It was exciting and even though the story is short, which I love, it packs a punch. Rachel and David have amazing chemistry. I couldn't put this down.

This book was a quick filler while finishing Dark Fae cause I hit a reading slump.

Just 65 pages it was quick but lacked a bit.

The book had a very engaging plot and it just was introduced and concluded on the next page.

⚠️ I must say it was amazing to me that the MMC was a amputee vet.⚠️

The smut was hot but again quick it’s BDSM based and in my opinion with the plot that the author attempted to create with the smut could have 100% lasted 300 pages.

This is my second book of the Sunshine Coast Collection & this wasn’t the best of the 2 but I’ll continue to read them.

This definitely kick started me to finish Dark Fae.

David has realized that pushing Rachel away is not what he should be doing . The story the author has written is amazing in descriptions of location and plot . With David being a dominant and not sure if Rachel not into the lifestyle he held back on them being a couple . With Rachel leaving her job after unethical problems going on she needs to find out what she truest wants out of life . Excellent story a must read !

What a page turner! David and Rachel are one heck of an amazing pair. From the moment David saw Rachel in the club, he knew he wanted her. Rachel wasn’t too sure of David’s lifestyle, but that definitely didn’t turn David away. It just made him give her time to see what she wanted. When something happens at the hospital Rachel works at, she decides to take some time away where no one knows where she is but her dad. She wants to time to reflect on her life and see what she ultimately wants to do in the end. David definitely doesn’t give up trying to find her and make her his. Will he be able to find her? If he does, will she be able to accept his lifestyle? Would David give it up for Rachel? Wait til you find out! Their chemistry is off the charts, steamy, and electric.

Took a spin through romantic suspense

Rachel, a fourth-year surgical resident, met David, a veteran struggling with some things, when out with mutual friends. As the story progresses an infraction is reported, an occupation is sorted, and a chance for a future may just be aborted. E.M. Shue took a spin through romantic suspense in Distracting David. The Caine & Graco family of alpha males sure knows how to set my heart aflutter.

This book was a novella that has all the ingredients for a great book. Smart and independent heroine, alpha male hero, drama, steam and plenty of feels. Rachel takes a sebattical after becoming a whistleblower at the hospital she works and takes off for some alone time. David is sure he’s lost his chance with Rachel because he chose work over love. When he decides he needs Rachel more than he needs his next breath, he tracks her down to stake his claim, but someone else has been watching Rachel and they have bad intentions.

This story has an awesome flow and I loved the storyline. David is a take no prisoners kind of guy and when he wants something he doesn’t give up even with an uphill battle. Rachel is ready for a change and for taking control of her life. These two will clash but it’s the clash and fallout that make this story in my opinion. The dynamic between them is something that I love because David understands what Rachel means when she tells him she’s ready and what better way to be ready than to do so in a beautiful location!

Sweetness and Sunshine
A quick one sitting read. The stories are so well written and page turners, I get through them too fast. I want more of these characters. David and Rachel, met previously and one is giving off mixed signals. It only takes one of them to run before the other realizes it's almost too late. High intensity, high drama and a hot off the charts alpha.

Rachel and David are outstanding together and completely captivating throughout their story making you want to know more. It’s a lot of love with a suspenseful twist. Great Job E.M. I loved this story. This is a shorter story that is very fast paced but beautifully written. I loved the real life emotional struggles that E.M. Shue portrayed through the characters. This story demonstrates how our past can impact our choices and our future. I highly recommend this story and as a bonus, there are cameo appearances by characters in other E.M. Shue novels.

A remarkable story. Rachel is a resident who turned in her boss and now she goes to a "vacation" to figure out her future. David is veteran who is struggling with so many things but pushed Rachel away until now. He is ready to open his life and his heart to her, he has to go and find her first. But before they will found their happy ending, they will have a few twists to overcome.

Rachel needs a change. Her life really isn't going how she planned. David is struggling with veteran life. But one chance with Rachel and both of their lives will change.
They have amazing chemistry together once Rachel figures out his lifestyle isn't all that bad. A really good second chance romance with love and drama. 5 stars!!

I always feel good after reading one of EM Shue's books. David and Rachel's story was very sweet and heartwarming and I enjoyed it. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
