Big Sky Cowboys #3

Imperfect Harmony

Rate this book
Every cowgirl needs a Horse to ride.

Cowgirl singer-songwriter Sarah Morgan is small town and sweet. But, she’s tired of feeling controlled by her four brothers. When she gets the opportunity to open for an international country music sensation, it seems like her life is about to ignite. If only the tour's infuriating and smoking hot production manager didn't keep making her lose her rhythm.

Broody, tattooed, Henry “Horse” Stallone, stage manages like none other, but it’s been years since he’s genuinely connected to anyone. And then he meets Sarah who hates him. But even when they're fighting, he’s smiling on the inside. She’s too young and too talented for a roadie like him, but he can’t seem to let her out of his sight.

When you're on tour, the unwritten rule is NO fraternization. Which is fine when you can’t stand each other, only what if that’s not entirely true?

Come on tour with the Morgan tribe, a tight knit family of ripped and rowdy ranchers. When the Morgan’s get together, shenanigans abound. If this is your first foray into the Big Sky Boys Series ... well, howdy and welcome to the family!

My favorite so far😍

Omg Lola West what have you done?!
I've finished this story and I'm not pleased... How could you do this to me/us?? I need more.. Like a hell of lot More!!!
Everything about these two were perfect. From the way they meet to the way they fell in love. I loved her trying to break out of being the baby of the family. And who doesn't love an a@&hole turning around for a good woman?! Am I right or am I RIGHT 😂

I don't know if I want to cry or laugh because this quick story made me so happy! And I can't wait to see what happens next with this family and their HEA.

AND THE #CoverWinning is BACK!! YAY

OMG, I really need adult supervision. Listen , so Lola West approached me to read and review for her a million years ago and I jumped on it because … do I even have to explain? Anywho, so I do just that and then … *crickets* … *louder crickets* … *headbanging crickets* … I mean … I AM A BLOGGER FFS! So, I mean, yeah, I missed a few reviews *deeeeeep sigh*

Let’s chat about Imperfect Harmony now that half the world has already read and reviewed it, k.

One of my favorite type of male lead is the strong stoic one. The guy with a history. The closed-off guy. The guy everybody wonders about, because that guy, he’s gonna make you feel. And I like to feel my stories. You wanna know my favorite female lead? The girl with a boundless spirit. The girl that tracks sunshine everywhere she goes. She’s strong. She has a purpose, but she lives life. Life does not live her. Sarah and Horse are my kind of people, and their story was all that and a bucket of giggles!

I have enjoyed the heck out of Lola West this year and I hope she continues to give us not only stories that make my heart happy, but also covers to go with them!! (I know, I know, I have a cover thing. Whatever, I’m old and ya’ll just have to handle it!)

Book 3 in the Big Sky Cowboy series and it was Sarah’s turn. Great enemies to lovers romance between Horse and Sarah. From the first time that they met, they rubbed each other the wrong way. The chemistry and attraction between them was another story and when they finally gave in to it, let me just say it was explosive. Loved them together and can’t wait to read more in this series.

This book right here, Imperfect Harmony is a winner! I have really enjoyed the other books in the Big Sky Cowboy series but this one is definitely my favorite so far.

Horse is broken, scarred and afraid of love. Sarah is young, innocent and longing to find Mr.Right. They are two complete opposites but find each other and have a connection that makes your heart swoon. The kind of love that makes you smile and get butterflies inside.

My heart ached for Horse and wanted to wrap him in my arms and tell him it’s ok. The character of Horse was written so wonderfully, he is real and raw. Yes, he made mistakes and at times I wanted to reach into the book and knock some sense into him. But that’s what made him such an important part of the book.

Sarah, oh sweet Sarah. Your innocence and pure love is what makes you strong and so vital to this story. You have a heart of gold and so much determination. Yes, at times a little whiny and afraid to say how you feel yet you know exactly what you want.

These two characters make this story amazing. The writing is so well done that I could easily visualize myself in the situation and never wanted it to end.
We do continue to learn more about Kat and Bill in this book but not so much that it distracts from the story of Horse and Sarah.

Just like the other books in the series this was an easy fast read with plenty of steam! I can’t wait to read the next one in the series and look forward to which brother we learn about next!

“We are all imperfect. But you and I together, we make a harmony. An imperfect harmony.”

Sarah Morgan is a grown-ass woman, finally leaving the nest of overly protective brothers, spreading her wings and performing her way to stardom.
Her family love her; her fans love her; her band and crew love her; and Horse... well, he’s determined to stay away from her, but losing the battle to not fall in love with her.
The third book in the Big Sky Cowboy series, ‘Imperfect Harmony’ is a must read, hot but sweet, enemies-to-friends-to-lovers romance, suitable for new adult readers and up.

I think this entry into the series is my favorite so far. Nothing I like better then a bad boy with a sweet, virginal woman.

Though the book was on the short side, it was not rushed. The story moved along perfectly and the romance built as it moved along.

This was definitely my favourite so far in the series!

Sarah Morgan is an aspiring singer and song writer. She gets the opportunity to open for Kat Bennett, country super star and fiancé to Sarah’s brother, Bill. She’s eager and excited to share her talent with the world. She’s also hoping to let loose without her overprotective brothers thwarting her every move!

Horse is the road manager for Kat. He’s serious, somber, grumpy and keeps to himself despite travelling with Kat and her crew for years. He gets off on the wrong foot with Sarah by mistaking her for a groupie, and then can’t seem to stop offending her. He also can’t seem to stop protecting her, following her and caring for her. He’s attracted to Sarah like he’s never been with anyone before, but he can’t be with her. For one, she’s too young for him, she’s Kat’s honorary little sister, and he’s been through trauma in his life - too much trauma to taint a perfect person like Sarah with his imperfect presence.
.
I love Sarah’s character. She’s strong willed and goes after what she wants - namely Horse. Horse was a great Hero. Perfectly imperfect with his gruff ways but you could see how much he was falling in love with Sarah. I loved the way he won back Sarah in the end - even though she had forgiven him, like Sarah said, “sometimes you gotta let ‘em earn it.”

Looking forward to the next instalment in the series.

This is Sarah Morgan’s story. If you started at the beginning, with Tofu Cowboy, you know Sarah is the youngest of five children, the rest of whom are four overbearing, overwhelming in a don’t-touch-our-little-sister-kind-of-way, brothers. After you read this book, you’re gonna want to start at the beginning of the series. Don’t worry, you don’t need to read the first two books to enjoy this one.

Sarah is living her dream as a singer-songwriter, finally living away from the family ranch and out from under the protective big brother debacle. She’s opening concerts for her super-famous country singer, soon-to-be-sister-in-law, Kat. Then she meets Horse, the tour manager. Super hot, tattooed, broody, surly, man-with-a-past, Horse.

Somehow, bubbly, positive, sunshiny Sarah has an instant crush on Horse. And just as instantly, he becomes Enemy #1. She tries her best to ignore him. He tries his best not to want her. It’s not working for either of them.

I LOVED this book. Enemies to Lovers isn’t my favorite trope, but this one worked for me. Perhaps because Lola West does such a good job describing the couple’s differences and puts them in terrific situations that are satisfying to read and experience. Perhaps because I’m so invested in each of the Morgan’s getting their happy ending. Perhaps because Horse is my favorite kind of Book Boyfriend, all growly and standoffish, but you love him anyway. Who knows? It just works, like peanut butter and jelly work. You don’t know why they go together so well, but you love the taste anyway. Sarah is young and inexperienced, and doesn’t quite get why her heart and her body keep going back to Horse. Horse works so hard not to want Sarah and he epically fails. Every time.

I also really enjoyed learning more about the concert/on-the-road/band tour life. It was very interesting and Sarah and Horse are so immersed in this life, it was as good as all the other secondary characters in the book.

Read this book. You’ll love it.

4.5 stars!

In the third installment in The Big Sky Cowboys Series, about a family of ranchers, who love hard and protect their loved ones harder, it’s time for Sarah to find her HEA, full of music and love.

Sarah is an aspiring singer and songwriter, who is finally living her life, without being overwhelmed by her four brothers, like a sweet and cute thing they have to protect. Don’t get me wrong, this cowgirl is more bad ass and could stand by herself. It is her time to go out on her own, so to speak. A woman full of strength and sweet, who can finally live her dream, out of her hometown.

Henry “Horse” is all tall, dark, brody and handsome tattooed production manager, secretive and quiet and also quite the jerk with her the first time. I’m keen on beginnings when the main characters have a rocky start. It kept things interesting. Sarah and Horse are no exception. I appreciated how she put him in his place, stunning him like no other.

They might drive me a little crazy and frustrate me sometimes, with Horse’s rules about not fraternizing with someone at work, being hot and cold, finding more reasons not to fall for her.

Their chemistry was off the charts, so strong that they tried so hard to fight it. I adored seeing them as enemies then friends to lovers. The broken man has met his match, unexpectedly and powerfully. In spite of the length of the book, I would say on the short side, it didn’t feel rush to me, it was the right balance.

There was definitely something in the dual POV’s. It’s refreshing, uncensored, plenty of emotions. Sarah and Horse were just a great imperfect harmony.

Sarah is just about to embark on her first singing tour with Kat, her soon to be sister-in-law, and is daydreaming on stage when Horse, the stage manager in charge of set up, suddenly appears to yell at her. With the stage set up in motion, she is in danger of getting hurt and Horse mistakes her for a fan girl, not the opening act singer. Needless to say, the are both left feeling angry and embarrassed after their first meeting. His gruff and grumpy attitude doesn’t do him any favours when it comes to getting along with Sarah who is pretty, sweet and effervescent with everyone except him. His instant, control-testing attraction to Sarah doesn’t help either as he uses snark and rudeness to hide it from her and everyone else....something that is extra tough now that they all travel on the same bus. When Kat asks Horse to keep a close eye on Sarah to make sure everything goes well, he doesn’t tell her that he really can’t take his eyes off of her anyway. Sarah is fiercely attracted to the tattooed, hot and very sexy stage manger too. She is just unsure of what to do about it, having very little experience with guys because of some very protective brothers. The night he steps in to make sure she gets back to the hotel safely after drinking way too much after a bad review changes everything between them. The hot and sexy kisses they shared can’t be forgotten by either of them. They must deal with secrets, insecurities and mounting sexual tensions under the watchful eyes of the rest of the crew. Read this funny, very engaging book to see what happens next.

This is the latest book in the Big Sky Cowboy Series, and you can certainly enjoy it as a stand-alone. Singer/songwriter Sarah Morgan has a depth of talent that her overly protective family has never really recognized. Lucky for Sarah, her brother Bill’s fiancé is now a country superstar who is embarking on a new tour and invites Sarah to be the opening act. Sarah is as excited to escape the smothering affection of her brothers as she is to see some of the country and share her music with people in different states.

Horse is the road manager for the tour. He’s intense, mysterious, dour, grouchy and the sexiest man Sarah has ever seen. He and Sarah start off badly when he mistakes her for a groupie and berates her, and then can’t seem to stop offending her. Horse is attracted to Sarah like he’s never been attracted to anyone else in his life, but he knows he can’t have a relationship with her. She’s too young for him, she’s the little sister of the tour headliner’s fiance, and she’s far too sweet and innocent for a man who’s had the rough life he has lived.
.
Author Lola West has a talent for creating compelling characters who grab your attention and your interest very quickly. Sarah is a great heroine. She is smart, capable and skilled at of variety of things, compassionate and determined to follow a path of her own choosing. Horse is an excellent hero. He is truly a tortured soul, and when he finally let his walls down for Sarah, the beauty within him glows from every page. Their HEA will leave you smiling. I’m very much looking forward to the next book in this series.

Imperfect Harmony was such a sweet, quick love story that contained so much passion and desire with a mix of humorous banter. Lola captured my eye right from the start, holding it to the very end with eyes filled with tears.

Sarah is your stereotypical tomboy, no makeup nor flashy clothes, just unapologetically her. So when her lifelong friend, Kat has her opening for her show, her nerves are a wreck. It doesn’t help that this delicious looking man keeps hounding her about being on his stage. What she doesn’t expect is for this same man to be the production manager that steals her heart.

Hoarse normally keeps to himself, does what he has to do to make Kat happy and keep her safe while on stage. Until some strikingly attractive female insists on getting on his stage, never expecting for her to be the new opening act for Kat. Now, he’s on a mission to apologize for his actions towards her but is met with such feistiness that all he wants to do is shut her up with his mouth on hers.

There is so much excitement, so much painful history, so much passion, so much desire all packed into such an amazing story. Sarah with her overprotective brothers and Hoarse with his unforgiving past, what these two go through to break the walls down will leave you in a pool of tears so prepare yourself for a roller coaster of emotions!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you, Lola West, for this opportunity.

“I kept my hands full with either reins or a guitar. No makeup necessary.”

Lola West writes short, sweet stories that captivate and empower you. She had a Ph.D. in women’s studies, which shows how she crafts her female characters. She is a talented writer and a badass woman.

Sarah, a small-town sweetheart, grew up in the shadow of brothers who protected her from everything- whether she wanted them to or not. She has big dreams, a bigger talent, and a natural charm. She draws you in without trying, and her beauty shines through her sass. She is the epitome of a “good girl,” yet she yearns to be so much more.

Horse, quiet, and capable, he keeps everyone at arm's length. Mysterious but good at his job, he will leave you wanting more. Battered and broken from sadness in his last, Horse doesn’t believe he deserves any more than what he’s got- until an up and coming singer shatters his walls and brings the music back into his heart.

This was my first Lola West book, and let me say I am now going to read everything she has published. She writes such beautiful love stories.

Lola West does not mess around when writing her female characters. Sarah is strong, smart, beautiful, self-aware, and unapologetic about owning who she is and what she wants.

The female empowerment throughout this book was fantastic. The pride, the passion, and the power of owning one's self are unremarkable.

The journey to stardom is not always comfortable, mostly when you’re falling in love for the first time and establishing your independence for the first time in your life. Sarah is such a beautifully written character and one that most of us will identify with. Horse also represents a lot of us, from the way he is holding on to his past, denying himself the things he feels he does not deserve, and the power of forgiving and being open to love.

This is such a beautiful story. I loved the characters. I seriously want to be friends with Sean. Everything about him is fabulous. The family unit within this story is so strong and so powerful.

This is a sexy, sweet, funny, romantic story of love, forgiveness, and family. If you are looking for an easy read with emotional baggage and an ending that will make you cry, I highly recommend this book.

This is the third book in the Big Sky Cowboys series and the books just keep getting better. Lola pulls you into the lives of not just the two main characters, Horse and Sarah, but all the supporting characters as well. Horse's past has made him withdrawn and seem cold until Sarah turns his world upside down with her beautiful voice and positive, uplifting personality. Add in the fact she is smoking hot and Horse doesn't stand a chance. Sarah just wants to be able to live her life as an adult without having he big brothers hovering over her and scaring off anyone who just might want to start a relationship. Horse and Sarah have a rocky start but but the chemistry between them is undeniable. Lola weaves both of their stories together so intricately with just enough of Billy and Kat from book two in the series to make the reader understand how Sarah made it to the big stage, without requiring you to have read the first two books to enjoy this one. You don't want to miss this steamy, sexy enemies to friends to lovers romance.

Imperfect Harmony is the third book in the Big Sky series and get ready to fall in love with Sarah and Horse.
Sarah is a young talented woman that is finally leaving the overprotective eye of her brothers and her small town to be the opening act for her old friend Kat. She is ready to jump into the touring gig and she is learning how to sing/perform in front of the crowd. She is just a talented young woman learning to navigate her new world. Now enter Horse he is older and just an enigma but she needs to figure him out. She may be young and a bit inexperienced but she knows the tingle when she feels it and Horse gives her all of that and more.
Horse is the strong stoic silent type. He runs his backstage and crew like a well oiled machine. When a young beautiful talent swoops in and knocks him off kilter he is not sure how to handle this upheaval to his world. No one really knows Horse but they are about to learn there is so much more to him than what is on the surface! The more they are thrown together the more obvious the attraction is to deny. Get ready to hit the road with Sarah and Horse with guest appearances from so many of our favorite characters from the first two books !

Adored this Novella!

Can we say steamy?! Imperfect Harmony is such a cute novella! I absolutely loved the story of Sarah and Horse! Their chemistry was undeniable throughout; small town country singer meets the bad boy exterior with a heart of gold! This was my first Lola West read and I was a bit nervous that I’d be missing some of the characterization that may have come from the prior books in this series, but I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to pick it up and hop right in! I immediately felt like I knew these characters. Read it straight through in one sitting and can’t wait to read the rest of the series! A must read for lovers of sweet and sassy steamy romances! (And can I just say, the beard and tattoos?? I mean, come on! How could we not love this?!)

This book was just so gosh darn sweet and awesome, I can barely take it. I was totally excited, right along with Sarah, for her to be wowing the crowd on tour with Kat. Her and Horse’s growing bond was straight up gorgeous to watch/read. Lola West once again cuts right to the heart of everything and gives us a truly heartwarming story in record time.
Sarah was all both sweet and inexperienced, and bold, formidable and talented. Horse was good people. He has been through his share, and he just wants to do a good job and keep to himself.
The sexual tension was real. The second-family vibes with the road crew were touching. And getting a little bit of Kat+Billy snuck in there was nice too. I’m left both satisfied and wanting more.
If you’re looking for a quick read with loads of feels, I recommend this whole series.

Really enjoyed this third full story in the series. We start to learn more about the next sibling in the Morgan family.

Sarah is starting out her career touring as the opening act for one of the biggest country stars. She’s determined to enjoy all aspects of the tour, even if she has to deal with the infuriating production manager.

Horse has been in the business for a while and despite being part of the tour family, he keeps himself a little disconnected. Despite feeling like she’s too young and innocent, there is something about Sarah that he can’t ignore.

Loved the interactions with these characters and the rest of the road crew. Also loved that we got to see more of the other Morgan siblings.

Can’t wait to continue the series.

I absolutely adored this novella. It was a fun, easy read with incredibly likeable leads in Sarah and Horse. Their relationship kept you interested and cheering for them to find their happily ever after together. I could understand Sarah's need to become her own woman, independent of her band of protective brothers, and she was just what the closed-off, mysterious Horse needed. With some great one-liners, this book will make you smile and leave you satisfied.

Oh Horse. How I love me a tortured soul. Lola West has written another fabulous book.

Sarah is on the road with her soon to be sister in law, Kat, who is a superstar musician. Sarah has known Kat her whole life. Horse is the lead roadie on Kat and Sarah’s tour and caught the interest of Sarah right away. However, Horse has a strict no fraternization rule.

The chemistry between to the two is sweet and hot. I read this book in one sitting because I could not put it down. There is more coming in the series and I cannot wait.

I loved everything about this book. I’ll tell you now, I don’t give out 5 stars very easily and this book totally earned every one! The pace was perfect, the characters were 3 dimensional. There was humor and heartbreak. I loved how the heroine didn’t back down and was feisty even though she was inexperienced. Buy this book and I promise you won’t regret it.

Fun read

Sarah is the only girl in the family, she's out spreading her as an up and coming star opening for Kat, her to be sister in law. Out of the shelter of her older brothers but under the watchful eye of Horse the crew bossman. Horse is older and has seen a lot his feelings for this young thing seem wrong. But attraction is a strong force. Fun banter, deep feels and a entertaining crew make this a great read!

This is the first book I’ve ever read from Lola West, and let me tell you that after reading Sarah & Horse’s story I will be picking up the first two books ASAP! The writing style was great and the story was sweet, sassy, steamy, and hilarious. It was a sweet small town woman and broody tattooed man meet and fall for each other but fight acting on those feelings storyline that was filled with amazing tension. This story was also easy to get pulled into and to understand given that I did not read the first two books yet. Pick this one up!

She is tired of everyone viewing her as a child, he doesn't think he is good enough. Music brings them together, but can miscommunication break them apart?

Have to say I thought this was a really cute read! I loved how she was determined to stand on her own feet and stood up for herself. I didn't blame him for struggling with his past, but loved how he just couldn't resist what his heart wanted. Great read!

This was a steamy, but super sweet enemies-to-lovers romance. Lola West does brilliant work packing this quickie with tons of passion, chemistry and yummy push-and-pull tension between her MCs. I definitely rooted for Sarah to get her man and for Horse to get his stuff together and win his girl, but I loved watching them make their journey even more. Loved, loved, loved this story and Lola West’s writing. I’m excited for more!

Oh my gosh this series is amazing.

I loved this story of Sarah and Horse (can’t believe this is his name though lol)

Imperfect harmony was a story of a rise to fame while still being humble. A story of two different backgrounds becoming one.

It was a pleasure reading this story. Of course it only makes sense to read from book one so that you get to know the characters.

Lola West is great at story telling

Sarah and Horse gets 💚❤️💚❤️💚

Stupidly Beautiful

I hate how well Lola West tugs on my heartstrings. I wouldn't call her books angsty by any means, but each one I read is the perfect blend of humor, love and heartache. I literally ugly cried through the end of this book, just like I did with her first one. So, so good. The perfect romance and so stupidly beautiful.

Such a great short story

I was really surprised that Sarah got the next book! But I loved the way Bill's story ended to it going right into Sarah's. And I'll have to say this book even had me crying a little. The ending was awesome, I loved that Horse was able to play again just for her! And I can't wait to read more in the next brother's book and kinda excited to find out witch one it will be!
