The phenomenal Lewis Trondheim is never where you next expect him. As an artist and writer, Trondheim has earned an international following as one of the most inventive, versatile, and prolific graphic authors. From autobiography to adventure, from bestselling fantasy and children's books to visual essays, Trondheim's unique, seminal imagination consistently dazzles. His work has won numerous awards, including the Angoulême prize for best series with McConey and he also co-created the titanic fantasy epic Dungeon with Joann Sfar.

He is one of the founding members of the alternative publishing house L'Association, a proving ground for many of the greatest talents in European comics working today. He is also the editorial director of a new imprint called Shampooing, dedicated to comics for all ages.

Lewis lives in the South of France with his wife, Brigitte Findakly, and two children.

Effet soufflé pour moi. L'univers et l'ambiance sont vraiment prenants pendant les 3/4, avec des dessins et couleurs super. Puis d'un coup on efface tout et c'est une bd un peu marrante parmi tant d'autres, on ferme chaque porte qui a été ouverte, comme si l'auteur n'y croyait finalement plus, et avec trop de rebondissements en cascade.

Et là, à Castelmaure, il va être bien servi avec un roi qui ne réussissait pas à avoir d’enfants, avec une sorcière censée l’aider, avec des grossesses incontrolables dans tous le royaume et partout des enfant morts-nés ou handicapés, avec des malédictions en pagailles et un roi qui disparait et, et, et…



Un joli conte fantastique et médiéval rondement mené avec ce qu’il faut de violence et de sensibilité

Glaçante histoire !

Une très belle collaboration entre Alfred et Lewis Trondheim. Un schéma de conte rarement abordé sous cet angle à ma connaissance.

Fàbula fantàstica molt ben trabada (en dibuix i argument) amb una reflexió potent sobre el perdó.

També és veritat que l’argument dóna pel què dóna i l’ambientació fantàstica treu realisme al missatge. Difícilment un còmic així podria ser cinc estrelles, té molt mèrit que en siguin quatre.

L'he gaudit moltíssim, sobretot en l'ús de la narrativa i de les diferents línies temporals. Visualment és molt atractiu i la història atrapa. Potser el final m'ha deixat una mica fred, però no enterboleix la resta del camí. Un còmic molt recomanable.
