Falling for a girl I just met was never in my plans.
We had one night together and most days I convince myself that she was an apparition—something I made up in my mind to get me through the hard days.
Then I found her again.
Only she wasn’t happy and smiling, giving me a hard time like she did the day we met. She was broken...unseeing eyes no longer filled with life. She was gone because of another person’s disregard for human life.
That night devastated me—transformed me from a person who upheld the law to a man that broke it.
My life was ruined, and all I had to fall back on was the Cerberus MC. Returning to the clubhouse breathed new life and determination into me.
Marie James is a mother of two boys and wife of 17 years. She's spent most of her life lifetime living in central Texas, with only short stays in South Carolina, Alabama, and Florida. Her passions include reading everything under the sun and sewing, although she doesn't get to sew much these days!.
Writing has always been a passion and she's enjoying every step of the journey!
This is my first read by Miss James. I was looking forward to get introduce to her writing. Unfortunately Drew does not attract me I listened to the audio book until 3rd hour and gives up.
I personally do not like shelving book under DNF. In 2022, I shelved too many DNF. Sad.
Drew and Izzy met up at a diner one day with Izzy giving a false name and Drew in his State Patrol uniform looking amazingly hot. After their one time together that night, neither were far from the others thoughts but when Drew came upon a car accident thinking it was Izzy inside he lost his mind on the drunk driver that hit her. That was going to yield him some time in prison. While waiting for his court date he moves to the Cerberus MC compound to spend his time with his brother who was a member of the MC. He had no idea that Izzy’s dad was also a member of Cerberus. No one was more shocked to see Izzy standing before his eyes. He thought she was dead and not only that but she was pregnant…with his child.
This was such a gut wrenching read that had me feeling so totally invested in their story that I just couldn’t put it down until the very last page was turned. Their story had me going from highs to lows so fast my head spun and every page was so worth the rollercoaster ride of emotions that I felt. I highly recommend this book along
We had a lot of mixed feelings about this story and although we didn't love it we didn't hate it. When it comes down to it the reason is that I just didn't connect with Isabella and her character. We loved that she was fiercely independent and a wonderful mother but, her obsession with Drew was a wonder. She was obsessed with Drew, and he treated her like crap. We understood the challenges Drew was facing and the guilt he was feeling wanting her and not wanting her and the consequences he was going to be facing but, the push and pull thing became old real fast.
I will say that the story was emotional and heartfelt and your heart went out to Isabella and Drew for the situation they found themselves in. We understood the chemistry that was apparent between these two characters it's just that we never really felt that fierce connection between the two characters we actually thought that Isabella was better off with Apollo but, you can't help the path your heart chooses and hers chose Drew's.
You ever felt constantly pissed at a character? We did and that was Drew because we wanted to smack him upside the head constantly. We loved that the man owned up to what he did and made no excuses for himself of that his actions lead to someone's death but, when the circumstances changed yet again for him, we were disappointed that his son and Isabella never really factored into the choices he was about to make.
Overall we enjoyed the rest of the characters. Bottom line I wanted to love the story because the circumstances were tragic and something beautiful was going to come out of this tragedy but, what held me back was that I never really felt that bond and connection between Drew and Isabella that a couple should have had.
As a fan of MC-themed romances, I've read my fair share and I'm thrilled when I find one that leaves such a lasting impression...and this one definitely did! From the very first page to the last this was an emotional rollercoaster ride that kept me on edge, kept me twisted in knots through each up and down, and introduced me to an unforgettable main couple that I'm still thinking about.
Drew was a police officer when he first met Izzy in an encounter that changed both of their lives irrevocably. For Drew, she became a mystery that he couldn't forget, an obsession that left him on edge and making a dire decision when he thought she was dead. Returning home after serving a prison sentence Drew's clearly a changed man, one weighed down by his past actions and feeling unworthy of grasping the happiness that Izzy represents. It hurt my heart to see him sacrifice so much for so many others, but it drew me to him too. He's a man of strong emotions, a protective man, but he's also a vulnerable one who often tries to be a martyr. Despite all the emotional highs and lows his decisions engender it was satisfying to see him finally get his life back and get the family he so richly deserved. For Izzy, their night together was equally unforgettable as it left her pregnant but not knowing where the man who left his mark on her heart went...until he was slated to go to jail. Though they're time together was fleeting they built a foundation that had me rooting for them every step of the way. Their time apart meant she was a single mother, it meant she had to stand strong all on her own, and it made her a capable and strong-willed heroine that I liked very much. Together Izzy and Drew made each other better, they were a couple whose love was meant to be, and their angst-fueled journey to HEA kept me glued to every emotional twist and turn.
Though this is the 15th installment in the Cerberus MC series it can (and does) stand strongly on its own due to its powerful main couple and non-stop emotional highs and lows. There's a sense of family permeating this story, one that kept me wholeheartedly invested in Drew and Izzy's journey, and can be made all the richer by reading the previous installments which will give early glimpses of this couple. On a whole Ms. James has crafted a crackling romance, with a delicious hero, in an engaging tale that is a satisfying addition to the genre and is a story that I definitely recommend!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, Marie James is a new to me, author, yes I know this is book 15 in this series but I read this as a standalone. I didn't feel at all lost or left wondering what happened in the past. In truth, this book was sent to me by mistake and I am so glad that it was. I have found a new author that I really like and will read again.
The story was great, I was expecting a full force MC book but it wasn't like that at all. This has a twist to it and although the MC was indeed involved it wasn't the main focus. This story was a heartbreaker, to say the least. I cried hard and at points was more than a little shocked. But all the tears, anger, and frustration were totally worth it.
I fell in love with Drew's character both before and after that fateful night. He was lost and his life was ruined but a miracle happens when he walks into the Cerberus MC compound. A miracle that leaves him shocked. Izzy was a bold, strong, and beautiful character. Who has accepted her life and what she is to face alone? Until that same day, in a meeting that I feel was always fated.
This book is totally recommended by me. One that I will think of for some time and has made me want to now go back and read more of the stories involving the Cerberus MC.
Another great read from the talented Marie James, even though this is book 15 in the series I believe it can be read as a standalone and you get the full experience without missing out on anything.
One fateful night bought them together, another ripped them apart. An MC with a difference, a pregnant Presidents daughter, and a fallen officer. Throw in some witty banter, lots of angst, and a prison sentence and you have a fabulous fast-paced story you won't be able to put down.
4.5 Stars Drew is the fifteenth title in the Cerberus MC series, and each title is completely unique and different. I was eager for Drew and Izzy’s story after the ending of Colton where it was revealed that Izzy was pregnant. Both Izzy and Drew are connected to the Cerberus MC, she’s the daughter of Hound and Drew is the half brother of Lawson the son of Itchy and Snatch. Izzy is a strong and resilient heroine, but also quite vulnerable. Drew is an admirable character who makes some regrettable choices. Whilst he’s the hero, he’s also the victim and at times the villain. This title is emotional, at times heartbreaking and raw and full of angst and will take you through a gamut of emotions with frustration, anger, pain and I will admit I had several tears. I look forward to future additions to the Cerberus MC series.
Drew made me want to have that one mind blowing night that would change my life forever too. He definitely could frisk me any day! Izzy and Drew have such an intense connection when they first meet until all hell breaks loose in more ways than one. It rocks both of their worlds and breaks my heart. You need to read this book for the car, the letters, Andy, the presents and the bathroom alone. Sometimes the pleasure is worth the pain when second chances become such an amazing gift.
Drew is a raw and emotional story. I am keeping this short and sweet because I don't want to give anything away. If you have read the previous Cerberus MC books than you know you have to read Drew. If this is your firat book in the Cerberus MC series than what are you waiting for! Grab Drew and get lost in yhe Cerberus MC series. Seriously worth every second of not adulting!
I absolutely love this series but Drew was a heartbreaking read for me. I felt like my emotions were on a roller coaster, with some of the highs were the absolute best and lows had me tearing up. Drew is a man that thinks he has lost everything and he never expects to see her again. Izzy has had a good life with some ups and downs but she never thought to be reunited with her one night stand. Will they be able to complete their lives with one another or will there one night stand be all they have?
VERY SMALL SPOILER BELOW (that happens close to in the beginning anyway)....
BOOKS SUCH AS THIS, THAT FRACTURE A FAMILY APART FOR YEARS, DUE TO THE LEGAL SYSTEM & SOME STORY WHERE WE ARE STILL ROOTING FOR THE 4 ALWAYS BREAKS MY HEART.
I mean I say this with every review.. but hands down another phenomenal read by the phenomenal Marie James... Let me tell you these Cerberus Men just get hotter and hotter.. and I cant wait for our next man Marie brings us..
Isabella (Izzy) is the Daughter of Hound - Drew is the brother of Lawson.
A chance meeting and a night neither will ever forget.. Both fall hard.. but neither expect to see each other again. One fateful night several months later something horrific happens and Drew is headed to prison.. with just a few weeks left - he goes to stay with his brother.. never expecting to see the face he cant get out of his head.. but its not just her face anymore...
This book put me thru the wringer.. Marie tore my heart out but that is quite alright.. as I knew deep down she would make it all right.. and boy oh boy did she. That Epilouge was out of this world... I need more... And as for that little question you asked... A MILLION TIMES YES!!! I am ready... bring that bad boy to me... he is MINE ALL MINE!!
Loved this one! It didn't go how I thought it would but was still the best book of the series so far. I laughed, I cried, I had many feelings while reading this story. It kept me on the edge of my seat. Without giving anything away I very strongly suggest reading this one and have your tissues handy.
I have been waiting for Drew and Izzy's story and I HATE that it was a letdown. But, it was and I hated everything about this book.
Drew was a new police officer when he met Megan. They had a wild night together, but neither knew who the other really was and didn't see each other again for months. In the meantime, Drew got a call where a woman was seriously injured in a familiar car. The woman resembled the Megen he knew. She was hit by a drunk driver and died at the scene. Every fantasy Drew ever had about his mystery woman died in front of him and he saw red.
I'm not understanding the hate for Drew with this book. Izzy made bad decision after bad decision early on that lead to Drew's situation. Now, I get it that Drew made his own choice and made a catastrophic decision in the heat of a trying moment, but I can honestly relate more to what Drew did than Izzy's idiotic choices.
Izzy literally grew up not knowing Hound because of the choice her mother made. So what does she do? Gets knocked up and makes the SAME decision. How? How could she make that choice after knowing the pain and turmoil her father dealt with by missing out on her life? It made zero sense and was honestly unforgivable because she lived it.
Had she been a responsible adult and tracked him down to tell him the truth, Drew's life never would have been thrown into chaos. Again, I get that Drew did what he did on his own, but choices have consequences and Izzy's choices lead to what Drew did. Drew's dumb choice was playing the martyr until he relaized what was at stake and it was 1 minute too late.
Drew acted like an ass, yes, BUT, I hate that authors write book characters to be morons. It was obvious that the reason Drew pushed everyone away was because he was hurting and space would make his time easier. Instead Izzy took it seriously. Yes, the things he said were bad, but come on. She can't be that dumb.
Overall this wasn't a favorite. The back and forth between them and the idiotic choices made by both was maddening. While I love the other characters, I hate that they were used as filler to avoid getting to the heart of the story.

Title: Drew Author: Marie James Genre: Contemporary Romance **RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW** The boys of Cerberus are back, kinda. Drew is the brother of a member and Izzy is Hound's daughter. If you read the previous book you know the author uses the Epilogue as a sneak peek for the upcoming book. So we learned about Drew and Izzy's involvement but now we get the whole story. Problem is I felt no connection with the characters. The author tried, she really did. I mean there were some intense moments but there was a disconnect. A feeling of just going through the motions of reading a story instead of getting immersed into the depths of guilt, grief, anger, pain, and agony. Not to mention Izzy was just plain annoying. Well both she and Drew were. I mean it would have been easy to find him but she refused. She may not have strung Apollo along but she didn't want to let him go because he was her security blanket. I've said it before but the books for the next generation of Cerberus just feels like minor glimpses into their lives without giving the reader the feels the original Cerberus books did. I guess I want more story, drama, action, depth. Still a good book and I look forward to reading the next book. Jinx finally falls. Can't wait.
Couldn't put it down but I didn't love it - read on KU.
For a while, I really liked every other book but this is the 5th in a row that is just so-so. The couples keep not getting together until the end of the book. The steamy scenes are dull compared to some of the earlier books. Someone needs to go to Hale-ish but I bet that won't be Jinx in the next book.
I will say the story is a bit unique. The reason he murdered someone is unique in a way. One thing that keeps me going with this series is I love how supportive the hole group is together. Hound, Izzy's dad actually does a lot to get them together. All of Cerberus helps Drew prepare for what may happen with court. Although, I think his reasoning was stupid. I think a good attorney could have gotten him off on temporary insanity.
The book doesn't really tell us much about the future. As has happened in the last book, the last chapter is more of a set up for the next book than helping this story.
I just needed more from Izzy and Drew. I needed more time with them together. They don't really have alone time until the next to last chapter in the book. There was very little romance in this book. You see their love but even their chemistry isn't as good as it could be. Their best time together (the first time) is not told in the present tense, so we just get tidbits of it throughout the book.
It is getting really hard to keep up with who is married to whom and whose child goes with which parents. That's mostly good.
After reading the last two books, I'm a little disappointed to not see Lawson in the lineup of books to be released. I sure hope it is scheduled after Grinch.
This doesn't apply to this book but several of the last books have had models that are quite a bit older than the character. Although, Colton's model may look younger than his 35 years. He is also the least attractive of all of the cover models for this series, IMO.
And while I'm complaining, the grammar keeps getting worse. It still isn't as bad as a lot of books on KU. There is one point in this book where Drew doesn't ask a question but makes a statement that implies a question and she answers as if he asked her a wholly different question that would require a different type of answer then what he implied as a question. Basically, he stated something she should have responded to as where was she going and she replied I don't. Those types of things have been happening more.
Ms. James loves the word echo in ways you don't usually see. In one of the earlier books, the h thought something like she could feel the echo of his p****s from the last time they had sex. In other places maybe something like I could smell the echo of her perfume. Rarely is it about sound. She uses this word at least once in every book. I know once isn't often but it is when it is a word used in such an unusual way.
Despite the last few being less enjoyable, almost all of the books in the series have been page turners. It's hard to put them down. There have been a couple I had to push myself through but, typically, she leaves you hanging from one chapter to the next.
Also, if you notice, the newer books in the series are getting 4.8 stars mostly but most of them have far less reviews than the earliest book. I think the die hard fans are the ones still writing reviews this late in the series and those readers tend to give 5s to books that are total trash just because of author loyalty. (I wouldn't call any of these books trash.) Anyway, take the 4.8 stars as being skewed high.
Bloody hell... all the freaking feels and then some! I feel like i've been squeezed through the wringer! My chest is still tight! But holy cow what a story!
Freaking loved it! God it hurts when i say it. The journey these two go is pretty hellish. Heartbreaking anguish all along the way that tears you to shreds and leaves your heart trying to break out of your chest.
I felt so much for both of them. Izzy is pretty stubborn like her Dad. Never showing how she really feels just holding her head high and dealing with it all on her own. Although it was to her detriment at times it also made me admire her. Strong women carry on regardless, and she did just that, but she also needed Drew and that made her that little bit vulnerable that will make you fall in love with her. She needed someone who could look after her when she wasn't feeling so strong but she didn't know how to go about getting it. Of course she had her dad and friends but she needed someone just for her and that was Drew.
Drew just has me. He has me whole heartedly. I broke the most for him. I loved he was the more emotional of two. It made him kind of unique. His own self hatred just broke me. Izzy was right. He was being a martyr and it hurt to read. He was trying to do right by everyone by sacrificing himself but in the end he pretty much hurt everyone more. Then that broke me because i felt bad that he felt thats what he had to do. Like he wasn't part of anyones family! Christ i was a mess over him. Thankfully he pulls his head out of his... and eventually makes amends. I honestly love him. I couldn't even get frustrated at him when he was being an idiot. I couldn't feel any ill will for him when he broke Izzy. I just love him. Hes a great man that just took a little time to realise it himself.
The story is tense and angst ridden. I'm not usually one for this but Drew is something special. I was gripped and got annoyed i had to work half way through. I was hooked! I love this series. Its no secret and i'm in awe that this many books in i still can't get enough of it.
Loved this and highly recommend it along with the whole series. There isn't one weak link in these books each one brings something different to the table. I'll never tire of it! Simply incredible!
Drew is book 15 of the Cerberus MC series and wow! This book is just...well it has all the emotions and will have you on a rollercoaster of feels. I was so excited for this story and it came through with flying colors!
Drew is not a Cerberus member but he is family, and that’s all that matters. Family sticks together and the Cerberus are family. We met Drew in Lawson book 6, he’s Lawson’s younger brother who went to live with their mom’s family instead of staying with Lawson. He grew up, went into the police academy and became a New Mexico State Police Officer and he was so proud of that. One night while on his shift break he meets a beautiful woman and they have an instant connection. He only knew her first name but thought about her constantly. When he sees her again he’s devastated by what he finds and he looses it, right there for all to see. He truly must have lost it because he sees her again, a ghost to him, why won’t she just let him forget.
Izzy never thought her life would take the turn it did on her trip home from school, at a diner, in the middle of nowhere, but it did. She’s come to grips with what her life is going to be like now but in the back of her mind she still has some doubts, but really what could she do with just a last name...well, it wouldn’t have been too hard but she feels she made the right decision until the day he walks through the door of the Cerberus MC clubhouse, takes one look at her and turns right around and walks out faster than he walked in.
This is just the “strap into you seats, pull down your shoulder harnesses and get ready for the ride” beginning of another amazing story by Marie James. Lawd, how I felt for both the characters and everything they went through. Yes, there were times I wanted to shake them and lock them in a padded room until they worked their issues out. They’re young but by the end of their story they have grown so much to become who they need to be for and to each other.
Thank you Ms. James for another amazing read! Can’t wait for the next book on this series!
As we saw at the end of the previous book, COLTON. Sophia's best-friend Izzy (Isabella Montoya), Hound's daughter was pregnant. She never told them who the father of her baby was. But as Drew walked into the clubhouse there was recognition and we finally got a clue about them knowing each other intimately.
Drew O'Neil, Lawson's younger brother found himself in a tight spot. He'd finished his police academy and was hired right away by the New Mexico State Police. But when Lawson got a phone that his brother was arrested for murder, let's just say that his life drastically changed.
Coming to Farmington and seeing the girl he had an incredible time a few months back with, standing in front of him and pregnant. Let's just say that he wasn't prepared for that life changing encounter especiallyafter she'd lied to him about her nane. He liked Izzy but she wasn't the same he'd met months before. The light in her eyes were extinguished, if he could he would kill the SOB who took her spark away. He would.
Little did he know that he would have to kick his own a**. Izzy graduated and was ready to face being a single mother on her own. Despite her loved ones being there for her, she wanted to do things her way.
Both Izzy and Drew had to overcome some obstacles before they could get their HEA. But it was all worth it in the end. Loved all the new additions to the Ceberus gang. I've got a feeling that the next generation will give the previous ones a run for their money.
DREW is the fifteenth book in Marie James' CEBERUS MC series. OMG what an emotional, romantic and interesting journey. This series keeps getting better and better with each book. Marie James did an enthralling job! 5++++
P. S. That ended was everything, I'm looking forward to Jinx's story! ;)
But I’m glad I read it through to the end. The way Drew reacts after they mess around weeks before he leaves was the most annoying part of this book though. I was seriously peeved, kind of wanted to strangle him at first, and then that letter! Oh boy, I 100% wanted to strangle him after that! The letter was awful, that’d be the thing that broke my heart, in shreds, doubting any man could ever put it back together again. Ooof that letter, having a baby with a man, a woman would have to be really strong to come back from that, and to trust him again, what a woman! I’m so soft when it comes to my feelings being hurt, yikes. Lol. IMO the spice was about a 1/5, and the story was probably a 3.5 maybe 4/5.. I can’t decide, it was good though, and a different scenario than the books that came before this one. By the end of the book I found myself liking Drew again, it was mostly the scenes of him building a relationship with his son that made me like him again. And he finally communicated with Izzy, finally. So many problems could be solved with words, communicating, and it’s like so many people forget that lovely little fact. That’s one of my number one pet peeves, is when people don’t communicate to solve their issues! I mean seriously, come on, get it together. Oh and Drew beating a man to death without knowing full well that was 100% Izzy is insane, I didn’t understand that. Literally beating a man to death without all of the FACTS!? That’s a recipe for disaster, and him being a cop, that doesn’t add up in my opinion. Anyway, good book.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, Marie James is a new to me author, yes I know this is book 15 in this series but I read this as a standalone. I didn't feel at all lost or left wondering what happened in the past. In truth this book was sent to me by mistake and I am so glad that it was. As I have found a new author that I really like and will read again.
The story was great, I was expecting a full force MC book but it wasn't like that at all. This has a twist to it and although the MC was indeed involved it wasn't the main focus. This story was a heartbreaker to say the least. I cried hard and at points was more than a little shocked. But all the tears, anger and frustration was totally worth it.
I fell in love with Drew's character both before and after that fateful night. He was lost and his life was ruined but a miracle happens when he walks into the Cerberus MC compound. A miracle that leaves him shocked. Izzy was a bold, strong and beautiful character. Who has accepted her life and what she is to face alone. Until that same day, in a meeting that I feel was always fated.
This book is a totally recommend from me. One that I will think of for sometime and has made me want to now go back and read more of the stories involving the Cerberus MC
Ms. James always delivers an amazing storyline and she most certainly didn’t fail with Drew. This book is heartbreaking and heartwarming. It’s emotional, romantic, gut wrenching, sole searching and so much more. I laughed, cried and wanted to scream at various times throughout the book. Needless to say I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting (granted I read til the wee hours of the morning).
Drew and Izzy meet in a diner with instant sparks that lead to a very hot time. Little do either of them know that one incident is going to change their lives forever. Drew is a good man that ends up doing a bad thing for all the right reasons. But to Drew right is right and wrong is wrong. He stands on his principles no matter the cost to himself. Izzy is the daughter of a Cerberus MC biker. She has been raised to be a strong and independent woman. But sometimes, even in the middle of her huge MC family, she feels alone. She knows what she wants and what she needs and she is not willing to settle for less.
All I can say here is OMG you have to read Drew’s story. If you love MC books and you haven’t started the series yet… It’s a must. It’s always been in the readers top 3 MC series that I’ve read through many times. These men are strong, tough and have raised their kids to be the same. Grab them up and trust me you won’t be sorry. (It starts with Book 1 “Kincade”, The leader of this amazing bunch of MC brothers).
It's review time 🎧 Blurb 📜: Falling for a girl I just met was never in my plans.
Returning to the clubhouse breathed new life and determination into me
Warning ⚠️: part of a series, standalone, pregnancy, police man, MC.
Narrator score🎧 ; the narrators did an incredible job as they did in thr whole series. They are just so good. I love them both.
Level of steam🔥: the book was a slow burn... yeah I know it started with sex but it took them sooooo long to get to the sex and there wasn't much of it. Not at all.
Level of anxiety and sadness0😱😢: prepare your kleenex!!!! This book was emotional as hell.
The book itself📖: I loved drew he was such a reck he did a big mistake and he manged to get to me... I would have blamed him for doing what he did... but the human side won . I loved this book so very much
I loved this book so much. But then again that's a common reaction when I finish a book by this author. However this book was beyond what I imagined before starting.
Readers got a teaser at the end of the previous book in the Cerberus series, but nothing really prepared me for what the real story was. Marie James took this situation in which there are many views and feelings and handled it so delicately. She managed to give these characters, Drew especially, an insight and depth of emotion in regards to the situation that really resonated with me. You could tell there was real thought put into this.
Drew and Izzy were both very well developed characters. I felt like Drew in particular had a clear moral compass and even his love and loyalty to the people in his life couldn't turn him from that.
Another thing I really loved was the continued development of the supporting characters. Both the ones that we've already gotten their story and the ones that are hopefully left to come. The storyline certainly isn't one dimensional. It's not just fixated on only the lead characters as though no one else exists if they aren't furthering the main characters story.
Overall this was a must read and has me excited all over again for the next books in the series.
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, anger, sadness, secrets, second chances, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Kincaid (Cerberus MC, #1) SINdicate Kid (Cerberus MC, #2) Shadow (Cerberus MC #3) Dominic (Cerberus MC #4) Snatch (Cerberus MC, #5) Lawson (Cerberus MC 2.0 Second Generation, #1) Hound (Cerberus 2.0 #2) Griffin (Cerberus MC #8) Samson (Cerberus MC #9) Tug (Cerberus MC #10) Scooter (Cerberus MC #11) Cannon (Cerberus MC, #12) Rocker (Cerberus MC #13) Colton (Cerberus MC #14)
This is Izzy and Drew’s story. One night was all it was supposed to be but when he comes across an accident, he though he lost her and takes matters into his own hands which ends up costing him his freedom. When he realizes he didn’t lose her he knows he needs her, but he has already done something that might cause him to lose her. He knows he needs to get her to believe that he needs her. This story is packed full of emotions. Very high highs and super low lows. You get the entire spectrum of emotions.
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
Let me start with, I thought I was hitting a slump, nothing I have read in the past week was doing it for me, as in I was skimming a lot, finding the stories lacking, too wordy, too needy, just not my jam. Then I get this little gem on my kindle and I think, well let me give this a try; lol try that's laughable cause I inhaled this story! This story took me out of my house and into another world where I watched the hot mess that is Drew and Izzy's story and watched them do their thing. It was magical and not gonna lie, I teared up that it was so good and had that ability to suck me in. If you don't know by now that these stories need to be read in order than it's your loss. We learned at the end of Colton that Izzy was pregnant and it was with Drew's baby and Drew is going through some really serious stuff. Like jail time serious, now we get the rest of that story and boy what a story this turned out to be. This gets 5 stars from me, and I'm ready for the next in the series.
CRACK DEALER! Marie James is a crack dealer. There, I said it! Holy mother of god, this book was an addiction of epic proportions! I got my hit in the first chapter and kept going back for more. Binging, staying up all night, can't wait for my next hit, family and work be damned.
Seriously folks, this book was everything. My heart, oh my poor precious heart, went from swoon to heartbreak to anger to swoon within all of these beautifully written pages.
When we were left at the end of "Colton" we knew that Izzy was pregnant, but, BUT, who is the father? Little innocent virgin Izzy got pregnant. And during a club get together in walks Drew, he eyes Izzy, a long lost ghost apparently and turns and is back out the door faster than he walked in. Oh? So, what is the story about that? Well, let me tell you, what a freaking ride this book was. I always binge a MJ book but dang this one...yeah, a total must read!
Drew never thought that one encounter with a woman could change his life forever. After being with a woman that calls herself Megan, Drew can’t get her out of his mind. Several months later, he and his partner respond to a car accident. One driver is drunk and one is dead, and the dead woman looks like Megan. Drew takes justice into his own hands and ruins his life forever. Until he sees her months later, alive and well and pregnant. Is he hallucinating?
Isabella has been taught to never give her real name to strangers. That’s why she told the handsome trooper that her name was Megan. She never thought that giving herself and her virginity to the trooper would change her life so drastically. When he shows up at the MC clubhouse seven months later he walks away from her. She doesn’t know his story but she’s determined to find out. After all he’s the father of the child she’s carrying.
Drew & Izzy came face to face at a diner which led to some sexy shenanigans, but she gave him a fake name which caused some issues down the road. The next time he comes face to face, it shocks him to his core because his life is on a downward spiral as he thought something different, and she's having his baby from that one night. And things aren't automatically better either because Marie James brought the emotional thunder so I found myself very emotional throughout to be honest. I'm still not over all the pain she put me through because it honestly felt like it was happening to me, and that's what makes her such a brilliant author that I CANNOT live without. I'm going to keep this review short & sweet because I don't want anyone to waste time when they could experience all of this emotional goodness for themselves! I'm super excited for the next book after that ending & HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
