Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. With no one else to blame but himself, Sam's personal depression has effected not just his personal life but it now it is interfering with his company. Humility is what others say he needs if only the could look past his life altering mistakes. Working in a soup kitchen just may give Sam more then humidity it just may bring him closer to having a real chance of happiness that is if Sam can get Noah to forgive him for a mi ...more

Eric Huffbind's Surrounded by Silence is the second book in The Rescuer series.  This  contemporary MM Romance is a touching, emotional story that delivers hurt/comfort, forgiveness,, brokeness, and personal growth.  The story is wonderfully crafted and the characters make you care for them and their story.  My heart was warm after reading.

Sam's major growth. I found it very unprofessional of Jason to share with his partner, things said in a private counseling session with Sam! HIPPA and integrity!!!??? How perfect was it that the big perfect billionaire would fall for someone deaf and lower income- melting my heart!!! Oliver's parents disgusted me. Such vile selfish creatures hurt me to my soul. I appreciated the lengths Sam went to to free Oliver to be himself, and ALL the reparations he made towards Jason and Chris- MASSIVE!! A ...more

SURROUNDED BY SILENCE is the second book in The Rescuer series and, while it does feature some of the characters from the first book, can be read as a standalone because the issues raised are discussed in this book.

Sam has reached rock bottom and has realised that for all his billions, he can't buy happiness. He reaches out to the one person he thinks can help and manages to convince him. That is how Sam ends up working in a Soup Kitchen.

I enjoyed this book so much more than the first (sorry, M

When I started this story I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it. It sounded like just another rich billionaire. As I got more into the story there is a lot going on here and I found myself having a hard time putting it down. Yes Sam is another rich guy but thanks to Jason he gets the surprise of his life. On Jason’s advice, Sam’s life changes forever. There are a number of times Sam stumbles and there are times I wanted to smack him. I felt overall the story flowed well and has likable charact ...more

Surrounded By Silence is a wonderful story! I loved the lengths Sam went in order to turn his life around and most importantly trying to earn forgiveness for his horrible past behavior of being a wealthy spoiled SOB! Sam desperately needs the one person he wronged the most to help him be a better person. Jason however insists he will only help if Sam volunteers at a local soup kitchen feeding the homeless and less fortunate to learn humility. Sam eventually learns that no matter how horrible he’ ...more

A most enjoyable read. This is a romantic tale of a man's amazing journey to becoming a better man and in the process finding the happiness that has eluded him. It is an extraordinary tale in that it explores the world of a man born deaf but also gay. The characterization is great and the story is full of incident and suspense. Much recommended.

I do like a good redemption story, and God knows Samuel needed redeeming. He was totally clueless in the way of social norms, and thought he could buy his way out of everything. He does play quite a big part in the first book in this series, the Rescuers, but I do think that this second one can be read as a standalone.

Jason, the social worker, one of the MCs from the previous book, takes on Samuel and helps him work towards his redemption. It's not plain sailing, Samuel proves a hard nut to crac

When I first read the blurb, I was smitten. Redemption? A super-rich and powerful former antagonist getting his own story? Another hero who is deaf? Silver fox men—not one but two? Sign me up!

First, I really liked Sam. I never read the first book in the series, so I didn’t go into this knowing his previous nefarious behaviour or personality. I only knew Sam from this novel. He’s rich. He’s out of the closet after being outed through some kind of humiliating media exposé, dumped by his wife who d

Interesting story. Sam was absent from his own life. When he finally realized he could do something about his guilt over past deeds, he jumped right in. He didn’t have to work too hard to get over himself once he decided to. It kind of seemed that everything he needed fell into his lap.
Noah was a breath of fresh air. I liked him. It would have been nice to get to know him better. Nick and Oliver are quite the pair. Good kids, it seems.
All in all, it’s a good story about redemption. Good job!

Sam is a billionaire who is lonely. He feels like his life is out of his control, realizing this he talks to Jason, a social worker. Jason calls him a spoiled brat and to volunteer his time at a soup kitchen. There he meets the flirtatious Noah who is deaf. Chris and Jason make recurring appearances in this story also. This was so much better than the authors debut story. I am voluntarily leaving a review form an advanced copy that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opini ...more

Book two in The Rescuer series brings Sam's story. The author does a great job building the story and delivers an emotional read with all the feels as he weaves this touching story. The characters are strong ,well developed and the scenes are painted vividly. It's well written ,moves fluidly and is a wonderful story.

I chose to read and review this book. I like reading this type of genre. This one was well written. I enjoyed meeting the men and seeing how they interact together. I was surprised in this one and how a man who is deaf gay finds his life in this one. It has a lot of suspense mystery drama full of emotions worth reading. I recommend it.

Fabulous book. It’s proof that with effort and a little help anyone can change. Money May buy you objects but it doesn’t buy love, happiness, or a decent soul.
