This book is a collection of essays by women recounting the dark times in their lives. Each brief essay is paired with a verse or two from the Bible. If the entire book were to be paired with a passage from Scripture, it would be this, from the beginning of St. Paul's second letter to the Corinthians:

This book is the work of a number of women who have experienced God’s presence in their turmoil. The stories, or devotionals give hope to others experiencing hardship and profound stress in their lives.
