Book 2 of Unbound that I just read. It's dark and gritty, and for some reason keeps me reading even though the relationship is severely toxic, and the storylines messed up, and I have issues with it. lol. I guess I'm in an odd mood.

It's a year on from book 1, Faye has settled into the household well, and her romance with Molly is going strong. However Molly keeps pushing Faye to really embrace her vampire side, but Faye absolutely loathes that part of herself. I didn't think it was healthy, the Book 2 of Unbound that I just read. It's dark and gritty, and for some reason keeps me reading even though the relationship is severely toxic, and the storylines messed up, and I have issues with it. lol. I guess I'm in an odd mood.

It's a year on from book 1, Faye has settled into the household well, and her romance with Molly is going strong. However Molly keeps pushing Faye to really embrace her vampire side, but Faye absolutely loathes that part of herself. I didn't think it was healthy, the way Molly was trying to force the issue of Faye's acceptance of blood lust... especially when it comes off more as Molly's kink for her to do it, as opposed to a genuine want for her to be OK with who she is.

Faye and another person from The Sanctuary go to Colombia to investigate a creature sighting, but Faye is kidnapped. Everyone is looking for her, but there is no sign of her, anywhere. Meanwhile poor Faye is being tortured and raped and kept drugged up somewhere. It was truly sickening and appalling, and I had to skim a lot of it.

The team are trying in vain to find her, but there's that undercurrent of maybe she left by herself... Molly refuses to believe it. Unfortunately there's also an old member of the team that has popped back, and is doing all they can to manipulate Molly, and that came off as forced and more drama for the sake of drama. This character is clearly feeding information to others in a very obvious manner and is clearly in on the plans that target Faye.

There's more internal miscommunication and mistrust brewing throughout the whole team. Heaps of PTSD issues for Faye once she gets rescued and lots of drug addiction issues and also an abortion. Molly has become very controlling and manipulative, not allowing Faye to make her own choices. But this new Amelia character is also channeling a lot of adversity around her, too. There's cheating and heaps of angst and heartbreak. Oh and lots of angry sex, too. Not for the faint of heart.

It lets off on a bit of a cliffhanger, with much more going on, so now we wait for book 3. I'm sure it only gets worse from here! ...more

So happy I was able to read this prerelease! Was hooked on this story with the first book and this second did not disappoint. An great continuation of the story, that ends not hanging, but definitely leaves you waiting for the next book. Haven’t read the first one yet, grab it and be ready for this sequel when it hits.

A different love story.Molly and Faye are in love and the adventure starts therte. Each character is different I th eir own way. There is violence and sex involved but it is an intertesting read. There are many ups and downs with a lot of twists. I recommend this book if you. are not faint of heart and like romance. I received this book as an ARC but my opinions are my own.
