Man, do I ever love He-Is-Grumpy-She-Is-Sunshine! And This book rocks it!

There were some really amazing parts of this book. Sheesh...the chemistry was panty-melting goodness! These two characters have sizzle from the instant they lay eyes in each other and they are HOT. I truly loved that Tess was a smart, hard working, driven, entrepreneur. She is passionate abut her business (and about life in general). I also loved how unapologetically Tess longs for children and a family.

I can always count on this author for playful and hot romance. It's the best label for this story that not only creates two lively characters, but inmerses them in a business relationship full of banter, red-hot chemistry, and real-life quality.

I can honestly say that I am not sure how Layla Hagen does it, but I absolutely loved My One and Only! It is the fifth book in the Very Irresistible Bachelor series. My One and Only is filled with all those things that I have come to love and expect in a Layla Hagen love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. My One and Only is the love story of Tess Winchester, co-owner of SoHo Lingerie with her sister, Skye and Liam Harrington, the founder of Harrington & Co, the company that Tess and Skye have chosen to apply to as a financial backer to fund their expansion. I love the light moment how Tess and Liam meet for the first time. After Tess and Skye’s initial presentation and their getting to know dinner, sparks fly between Tess and Liam. Tess and Liam both have their own baggage and Tess tries to avoid Liam and her reaction to him, because she is concerned about what will happen if SoHo Lingerie is the company Harrington & Co decides to invest in. Neither Tess nor Liam like to mix business with pleasure. I love Tess and Liam’s love story, and how the plot twist changes things for Tess, especially because of the Winchester family “no secrets” policy. Tess does not want to be dependent on anyone, family included. Liam was raised to take care of all the problems and protect the ones you love. My One and Only is the beautifully written story that Tess so deserved. Layla Hagen creates such wonderful and memorable characters and has once again done this in My One and Only. I love Tess and Liam's story and the descriptions of the NY settings. My One and Only felt like a family reunion and catching up with all the other characters from the other books in the series. I love the characters and the family dynamic in My One and Only, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoy all the interactions among the Winchester siblings and the Gallagher siblings, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing, I especially love the Winchester family "no secret" policy. My One and Only is filled with all the elements that I have come to love and expect in Layla Hagen stories. I love the bittersweet and poignant moments, as well as the surprise plot twists. My One and Only was a wonderful story. So glad that Tess let go of her past disappointments and found her one, and happily ever after. This series is called the “Very Irresistible Bachelors” for a reason and Book 5, My One and Only, features a new swoony Hero for us to love, Liam Harrington. This man knows what he wants and makes the object of his affection, Tess Winchester, weak at the knees just from his smoldering stare.

Their meet cute is epic as he accidently saw her undressing and was immediately smitten. He was ever the gentleman, but was totally captivated and needed to get to know the woman with the pink in her cheeks, This series is called the “Very Irresistible Bachelors” for a reason and Book 5, My One and Only, features a new swoony Hero for us to love, Liam Harrington. This man knows what he wants and makes the object of his affection, Tess Winchester, weak at the knees just from his smoldering stare.

Their meet cute is epic as he accidently saw her undressing and was immediately smitten. He was ever the gentleman, but was totally captivated and needed to get to know the woman with the pink in her cheeks, pretty smile, and quick wit better. Little did he know he was going to have his chance in just a few minutes as Tess and her sister, Skye, were there to pitch their business, SoHo Lingerie, to potential investors at Harrington & Co.

What I love most about Layla’s books and series are that the heroes are so worthy of the title. Liam is classy, smart, strong, sexy, and determined. He doesn’t care that pursuing Tess is not in the best interest of his business, he wants her fiercely and purses her relentlessly. Not in a creepy way because she feels the same way, and I love that their first business meeting after their pitch felt more like a date. She asked him about his family, and he let down his guard and let her in. I loved his relationship with his grandmom and how he looked out for her, and her relationship with her siblings, cousins, and other relatives.

You can’t help but love and admire Tess. She is such a hard worker with great vision, gives so much of herself to her family and community, is a smart, successful business woman, is sexy and sweet at the same time, and someone I would want to be friends with in real life. She adores Liam and I’m so glad this wasn’t a slow burn...they had an instant spark, and wasted no time getting physical! Their relationship is smoking hot and they bring out the best in each other. He is a stoic businessman used to handling everything alone and keeping his feelings in a vault, and she is a romantic, open and honest to the core.

Even though this is a standalone, the four previous books feature interconnected characters and it was great to catch up with Hunter and Josie, Cole and Laney, Ryker and Avery, and of course her sister Skye and her husband, Rob. There are also lots of cousins and in-laws, her mom, and his grandmom that make this series a true family affair.

In addition, we are treated to new characters, David and Becca, who are Liam’s business partners, and I sense a love connection brewing with all of their tension. There’s also a villain, Albert, tossed in to shake things up, and I loved how Tess was so supportive and willing to put his needs first when he his business was in crisis.

My One and Only kept me engaged the entire time, and it was refreshing to read a book where the characters got along so well and actually liked and respected each other. Loved it and am looking for more books as their our other family members left who just moved to town! ...more

Wow! What a great way to end my 2020 read. My One and Only was A-MAZING!!! It was the perfect book to make me forget my worries in this Covid19 infested times, and made me hope for a better 2021, with all the love and positive vibes that I got from Liam and Tess. Thank you so much Layla for the ARC. I loved this book so much!! I LOVE how Liam and Tess met. Oh my gosh! It was hilarious and exciting! I couldn't imagine what I would have done if it happened to me. Well, I guess I wouldn't mind if i Wow! What a great way to end my 2020 read. My One and Only was A-MAZING!!! It was the perfect book to make me forget my worries in this Covid19 infested times, and made me hope for a better 2021, with all the love and positive vibes that I got from Liam and Tess. Thank you so much Layla for the ARC. I loved this book so much!! I LOVE how Liam and Tess met. Oh my gosh! It was hilarious and exciting! I couldn't imagine what I would have done if it happened to me. Well, I guess I wouldn't mind if it was to some sexy, hot, alpha, hunk of a man like Liam. LOL! I was already seeing stars and thinking hearts and flowers, not only for Tess, but, also for me. Liam is the perfect book boyfriend I could ever wish for.

I enjoyed every minute I spent breathlessly reading this book. I had a smile permanently plastered on my cheerful face. Liam was such a sweetheart when it came to Tess. I was feeling giddy, and so excited whenever Liam surprises Tess with something. I love that he always had Tess' best interest in mind. It made me want to hug him most of the time. As I said, perfect book boyfriend. Tess on the other hand was just as loveable and endearing like Liam. So loving and caring for Liam and her family. Layla always have perfect couples in all her books. So easy to fall head over heals in love with them.

I love all of Layla's series because I get to read again the characters I already fell in love with. I watched them grow in their love for each other and got to witness babies being added to the family. Then, the secondary characters are just as important and loveable as the main. Like Liam's grandma who made me think of my own grandma who also took care of me even with my parents around. Then again, we felt the love of mommy Winchester. Family love is always present in all of Layla's books. I felt the depth of the sibling's love and support for each other.

I highly recommend this heartwarming book. The storyline is the perfect blend for a book to get cozy with. You will definitely fall in love with Liam and Tess as I did. And OMG, the cover is so awesome! I love it so much!! It drove me to start reading immediately. The great couple is truly Liam and Tess.

It's bittersweet to think that we have come to the end of the series because we already have all the Winchester's happily-ever-after moments. But, I'm hoping we'll still be reading more of them in the future. I've got a feeling that Layla was giving us hints by mentioning the extended family of the Winchester's with Josie's three siblings, Isabelle, Dylan and Ian. Now, I'm definitely looking forward to what Layla has in store for us sometime soon. High five to Layla for a super fantastic series! ...more

Liam Harrington is all GQ man, sexy, muscular and e dry woman’s dream man, but he’s also a hard business man, taking everything one step at a time, until a woman in her bra frazzles his brain… That woman is owner of SoHo Lingerie and pitching for him and partners, David and Becca. Although all business in the boardroom, Liam is way more taken by the gorgeous woman, and that little sneak leak he got of her sexy body. Knowing he wants to mentor her and Skye through the investment, he wants more too.

Preferring to keep business and pleasure separate, Tess tries to push Liam away, but his prowling swagger, baby blue eyes, and smoking looks make it way to difficult. Finally, we meet a man who is perfect for Tess Winchester. We've met Tess through the books about her siblings and now its her turn to fall in love.
