Gorgeous. Wealthy. Powerful.
I just fled New York to escape one.
But when I reach Colorado, it’s either take a job at Cullen’s Trident Rescue or become homeless.
And Cullen? He’s worse than I thought.
Controlling. Demanding. Jerk.
A grenade always teetering on the edge.

He’s also hot as sin and makes my toes curl.

Skylar Reynolds has had experience with military vets, her father and ex-fiance were enough to make her want to keep far away from them. When her life is upended and the only journalism job she can get is in Colorado, writing for a sleezy tabloid, she runs into Cullen Hunt, the absolute worst example of the type of man she wants to avoid - demanding, controlling and totally hot. Of course it ends up she has to take a job working for the man at Trident Rescue, or face living on the street. Cullen ...more

OMG this book is totally fantabulous!! We meet Sky as she is pretty much broke looking for a new job after her life took a nasty turn back in New York. Being sent on assignment as a reporter for her part time job she has her first run in with Trident Rescue and it does not go well. So imagine her surprise when she is called to a job interview only to find the meanest one would be her boss. Cullen is dete

Enemy Zone is the first book in the contemporary romance Trident Rescue series by author Alex Lidell. I have read several of Alex's paranormal and fantasy series, but this is the first time I am reading a contemporary series by her, and I have to say Enemy Zone was just as magically as her fantasy series! I completely loved this book! It is my favorite contemporary romance read of the year! (even though it doesn't release until 2021) I loved everything about this book- I loved the characters, I ...more

Well written romance with a well developed plot that flows smoothly with some quirky and humorous moments and intense chemistry. The characters were well developed and while it takes a while to understand and like Sky it is well worth the time to read this story about friendships, emotional healing and acceptance and love. The authors portrayal of the supporting characters is excellent and supports and elevate the plot.

Cullen Hunt is an ex military hero and suffers from PTSD, he is generous, loy

Sky Reynolds hasn’t had an easy time of things. When she loses her journalist job, she has no other option but to take a job with her least favorite type of guy, the wealthy, powerful, controlling alpha, Cullen Hunt. Sparks fly as their personalities hit head on. And yet despite that, the two find something calming and worthy of trust in the other as they deny and fight against their attraction.

This is a well written book with an intriguing story line. The characters have strength and the autho

If done right, enemies to lovers books are the best and this book ticked all the boxes!!

Cullen and Skylar were two great main characters and oh man the sparks were flying from the minute they met. It was awesome!

I loved how both Cullen and Skylar had their own stories and as the story progresses you get to see them both grow as individuals as well as a couple. Well eventually....

The twist and turns were great and had me gripping my kindle well into the night. I just couldn't put it down.

So I have read books by Alex Lidell and this was different than what she usually does. Lets meet broody, straight faced, to the point Cullen Hunt. This man is gorgeous, exudes power and is very well off. He is one of the Trident Gods in a small town. Well he doesn't have super powers that is for sure. He has done a lot of stuff and earned his name. So when he meets Skylar, something shifts for this man. What could that be? Skylar is a newspaper reporter who has to start all over. She doesn't lik ...more

This story is about Sky and Cullen.

Sky is a strong woman who leaves everything behind and takes a job at Denton Uncovered—a tabloid in remote Denton Valley, Colorado. This is when she meets a handsome paramedic named Cullen. While they get off on the wrong foot, there is no denying there is chemistry,
but it’s not good when it is based on dislike.

Cullen has everything you need in life, good looks, successful business and more money than anyone could ever need. However, he has his own demons he i

A contemporary romance to get your teeth well and truly stuck into!

This is going to be an epic series, if Book 1 is anything to go on! The Trident men are hot as hell, edgy and single, I’ve been swept up in their life and if I’m honest, I’m not ready to leave. This is a stand-alone book, so no cliff-hangers, just a fantastic story! A full blown 10 stars in my mind! If you love military men with issues, gorgeous bodies and those opposed to love, until the right woman comes along of course, this i

Oh, the heat is HOT, and the physical chemistry is captivating so be careful you may just get burned all the heat coming off these pages. There were some "oh no" "oh wow" " what the what" moments and add in uncanny mishaps, mayhem, ups, downs, drama, intrigue, take Cullen a beautiful man with a few issues and throw in Skylar who worked all my nerves but I do get her considering her past that still haunts her and yep our beautiful man Cullen is right there to help her get past it. This was such a great book! I couldn’t stop reading to find out whether SKylar and Cullen would make it to their HEA. They had so much chemistry together but they are both facing demons from their past which skews their perceptions of each other. This book had a lot of emotions, and really made you feel for the characters. I love how Cullen’s friends are so tight knit, that we will see them in other Trident books. This was definitely an enjoyable and entertaining book!

Enemy Zone is an enemies to lovers book where Sky (FMC) moves to a new town to get some normality back in her life after suffering some major/dark upsets in her old life. Except Denton Valley brings a whole host of new lot of complications. Namely a pretty vile boss and Trident Leader Cullen a former seal with a bad attitude and PTSD. Him and Sky seem to rub each other up the wrong way from the start. The banter between these two though at times made me smile but they are up against some dark to ...more

I discovered Alex Lidell through the YA fantasy Tides series. I absolutely fell in love with the author's writing, and I've been on the lookout for Lidell's upcoming books ever since.

Enemy Zone is swoony, thrilling and romantic. I absolutely adore Skylar! She's independent, fierce and a badass. She puts Cullen Hunt in his place. Cullen Hunt with the protective heart, unwavering loyalty and magnetic eyes. *dreamy sigh* There was definitely no shortage of swoon in this book!

This very well-written book1 in the Trident Rescue Series is good story with interesting characters with depth. This book follows a group of Navy SEALs who return home to Denton Valley, Colorado, and start a search and rescue team called Trident Rescue. This story is a page-turning enemy-to-lovers stand-alone romance, with a spunky heroine, a powerful Navy SEAL, and heart-wrenching PTSD that only love can heal. This story has action, adventure, danger, mystery, suspense, and romance. Good book a ...more

The relationship starts off on shaky legs with a shared distrust for one and other and some not a so nice interactions . Sky takes a job in Colorado after events in New York leave her jobless. She doesn't trust easily and is even less apt to trust military types. She encounters Cullen who is all alpha male. He's a former Seal with a dose of PTSD and the last thing he wants is a female around. The two can't help their attraction though and against all odds find comfort in each other. This is story of healing, love and friendship with a heavy dose of heat. It will take you on a roller-coaster, but it's good one. I v ...more

I have been reading Alex Lidell due mostly to her paranormal and fantasy reverse harem novels, which I am trash for. If she exclusively wrote that I would be so happy. I wasn't so sure about this because it seemed like it was branching out for her and for me, but I gave it a go anyway.

AND I AM SO GLAD I DID. This was awesome! While not a reverse harem novel (which admittedly I will read shamelessly) I still loved this spectacular story of romance and love and rebuilding one's self. Excellent. Do

A different genre for this author but still as well-written as her previous books. The sex is always so descriptive but doesn’t overpower the storyline.
The descriptions of Colorado are accurate so I assume the effects of PTSD are equally well researched.
The only niggle for me is Skylar’s character as I think an investigative reporter would have been better prepared for some of the situations she got into.
Overall a great read and I’ll continue to follow Alex Liddell.

I haven’t read anything from this author before, but I do enjoy the enemies to lover’s trope and so I read the blurb and that also sounded interesting. The action and drama keep this plot moving along at a fast pace and so it was very easy to get enthralled in the book. Both the main characters come with their own issues and personal baggage that they need to work through and throw to the side. I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.

A really nice blend for an enemies to lovers romance. This one was definitely able to capture my attention and keep it. Sky and Cullen have both had pasts that they have to deal with in order to make this relationship happen, but Cullen has such a gentle heart, and even while struggling with his PTSD he shows his soft side. I loved how much Sky helped him. They made such a cute couple. I can't wait for book #2

Sky and Cullen both have pasts that they are trying to overcome. Cullen has such a big heart and helps everyone that he cares for. He is struggling with PTSD and Sky is able to help him find peace. Sky is a such a brave character that went through a lot in her childhood and adult life. I love this book and the characters i am so happy with how this book ended!

This was a bit of a journey into the unknown for me. I have read lots of this author's work before, in completely different genres. Her contemporary romance was new to me. I was hooked from start to finish. The character building is just as complex and complete as ever, there are no dull moments, and even some suspense to keep things ticking along nicely. I cannot wait for more in this series.

I absolutely get all excited when I read a book that the leads make me feel as though they are standing in front of me and every day with them is the 4th of July while they deny that spark all the reader can see, feel and experience is the beauty of that booming connection.

Sky and Cullen’s story has the twist and turns but it's the personal growth and finding that with that, they would work together. That is why I gave it 5 stars. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

I loved reading this book. It was a very good love story. I feel it was nicely written and it wasn’t rushed. I loved that Lary was a strong but lenient female main character in the book. I did not get frustrated with her because she didn’t accept Cullens nonsense. I can’t wait to read the stories of the other Trident men. I wonder if Jaz and Liam will eventually get together.....

I could not put this one down! One sitting read until 1 am. It was a little dark with some abuse in it but it was written well. Skylar and Cullen both have issues they are dealing with that have to do with their past. Skylar had spunk and kept Cullen on his toes. The guys in Trident Rescue had a great group dynamic. Can't wait to read their stories.

This was my first read from this author. It's the story about Sky and Cullen, told in the dual first person point of view, which I always love because it's a deal breaker for me.
I liked the story, because it really pulled me in from the first paragraph and I will follow this author from now on.

This book was okay. It wasn't the worst; it wasn't the best. I have been reading a lot of hate-to-love stories lately and this was one of the better ones, but it wasn't so awesome that it stuck in my head for days. I love that it was a stand-alone. There's nothing worse than a surprise to-be-continued. All-in-all, it was an enjoyable read.

For me this book was a little slower to get into, but once I did I couldn't stop reading at the end I wanted it to be longer. I love the friendship between Cullen and the guys. Usually I don't like to read series where each book is about different couple. But I can't wait for more from this group.
