Whatever issues I had with author Samuel Silver when I chanced to be introduced to his fascinating world with Naked Secrets that launched The Naked Series which forced me to hold back on the 5th star in my review has definitely been well taken care of in Naked Desires, book 2 in the series. So there is absolutely no reason to not to bestow 5 stars on this read.
Naked Secrets ended in a jarring note, leaving readers dangling at the edge of ecstasy before abruptly pulling out in the climax. Thankfully this time around, Samuel Silver truly wraps up Naked Desires perfectly just like a stand-alone book should be.
Even though Naked Desires is book 2 in The Naked Series, it is without a doubt, a perfect stand-alone read in of itself. Yet if you truly want to relish this book in totality, I would strongly recommend reading this series chronologically for maximum satisfaction. This will allow you to soak in all the aromatic flavours and drown into the steamy hot pleasures that only promise to get better and better. I just can’t wait for Naked Climax, which will be the third and final instalment of The Naked Series.
The prime characters Alisha, Floyd MacAbee (Mac), Stephanie & Vanessa are the same spillover from Naked Secrets thus keeping the readers cosily ensconced in their familiar pleasure zone - one of the benefits of reading The Naked Series right from the very start where it all began.
To sum up my review of Naked Desires without dishing out any unintended spoilers, let me succinctly put it in a nutshell - what a truly mind blowing awesome read Naked Desires turned out to be. Nothing prepared me for the sheer pleasures & joys Silver lays out so explicitly for his adult & mature readers. Indeed, Naked Desires is erotica at it’s delicious best without being reduced to crass smut.
If Naked Desires proves to be several notches better than Naked Secrets in the cliffhanger climax, then I cannot wait to figure out what Naked Climax shall be like in the grand finale as the curtain comes down on The Naked Series.

The note the first installment of this series left off on had me eager to know more so I was thrilled to hear book 2 was coming out! Rather than continue the linear storyline, it recounts other sides to the story including more details on what the reader thinks they understand happened.
This is the first time I can recall reading a book/series that recapped in such a way and it was an awesome experience. I highly doubt it is something many writers can pull off without the story seeming repetitive, inconsistant, or old hat, but Samuel Silver did an incredible job. The old saying about two sides to every story is certainly well-relayed here. It was like just knowing a couple more things that went unsaid in the first book, almost entirely changed the situation in many ways. Even upon finishing book 1, the coming surprises and intrigue of book 2 could not have been properly predicted.

While Naked Desires is a story about infidelity and illicit desire, what drives the affairs is what matters most, and who cheats on who may not be who you initially expect.
At its heart, this is Alisha’s story, and she’s a woman we come to admire, desire, and sympathize with. She’s stunningly beautiful and extraordinarily sexual, but all she wants is her husband – and he’s not only too busy to satisfy her desires, but he’s also too distracted to realize the toll his career is taking on their relationship. What’s so amazing about Samuel Silver’s writing is how much sensuality and erotic intensity he invests in unrequited longing and interrupted intimacy. It’s like the literary equivalent of edging . . . and it works.
There’s almost a soap opera element to the relationships, with secrets, schemes, and betrayals all layered on top of the other. It’s the women who make the story (Mac is really just a pawn between), with Stephanie the most questionable of the three and Venessa the most interesting (and likable). The relationship between Venessa and Stephanie is an exciting one, but the dynamic between Venessa and Alisha is where the story satisfies most.
Unlike most cheating erotica, there’s no single victim to feel sorry for here, no single homewrecker to blame, and that makes Naked Desires truly exciting.

This is the sequel to Book 1 in The Naked Series, The Makings of a Desperate Man. Book two seemingly backtracks to book one and shows us a different viewpoint OR it could have been what happened in the aftermath of book one. I'm not really certain. Book one left off with Mac's life in shambles and his wife'.s existence up in the air due to the "redhead". However, in the sequel, they just meet. This is why I'm assuming that book two is the original story told from Alisha's viewpoint.
The story is true to its genre, moved quickly, and has potential. Unfortunately, the main plot holes, glaring editing, and developmental errors remain. 2.5 rolled to a 3

This is book 2 of the Naked Series. This is a series that is carried from one book to the next. We pick up with Mac's secretary still trying to seduce him and she has her lesbian lover massaging Alisha, Mac's wife including very happy endings. And Alisha has been given the private number so she can request a massage anytime she wants. But really all she wants is her husband Mac. But Mac has now strayed from his marriage too and it is unknown if they can save their marriage.

Naked Desires is an intriguing read filled with an equal amount of erotica and mystery.
Silver populates this story with a colorful cast of characters who all suffer from some sort of fault, making it hard to know who to root for at the end of the day. As the plot twisted and turned, I found myself constantly changing my allegiances, and even at the end of the story I am still unsure of who was in the right.
This is a great read with lots of hot scenes and an ending that makes you want more. If this was giving another pass over by an editor I would be able to give it a solid five stars.
