我家艺人满级重生[娱乐圈] [My Artist Is Reborn]

Rate this book
Shen Huai was abandoned by all his artists and took over the one no one was optimistic about, the unpopular newcomer Ye Cang.

Ye Cang caught fire all over the country. Everyone thought it was due to Shen Huai’s influence. Only Shen Huai knew that his artist was a reborn rockstar.

Later, Shen Huai also signed the reborn “Legendary Film Queen,” the unsurpassed “Golden Supporting Role,” the “Queen of All Love Songs,” and the “Greatest Superstar in the Past Hundred Years.” Thus, he breathed a sigh of relief; he didn’t have to return to inherit billions of dollars.

3.5/5 🌟

This is a fun and enjoyable showbiz danmei. There might be some heavy topics that comes along being a public figure, but it didn't go as dark as you would have expected, but rather it was handled in a lighthearted and inspiring way.

If you're looking for a romance, the romance here might not fully satisfy you. It's not that the MC and ML's relationship dynamic isn't good, because it is and I loved how domestic they can get, which is very cute, but it's very sparse. Their romance is just a small subplot, maybe 15-20% of the whole plot. Both MC and ML are busy with their own career and it's not that they neglected each other, but the author chose to not focus on their relationship, but more on their and the other character's career. Which is the main point the author wants to show. I can understand that and it's not really a problem for me, but sometimes it gets frustrating because when they finally got the chance to have their own moment with each other, the author loved to interrupt the little intimate moments they've got every time, with the knock on the door or the sudden phone call, so their sparse moments got even fewer because of that.

This novel is not about MC and ML alone, but it's more about the relationship between the MC and all of the artists signed under him. The interesting part in here is that the side characters are all fleshed out and they all have very entertaining stories to tell. And since this is a showbiz danmei, expect some satisfying face-slapping moments.

Might not be the best showbiz danmei I've read, but I still have an amazing experience. Highly recommend.

nice read. i just didnt finished it because i felt like it is too long (idk why eventho ive read some novels which had more chapters than this). the plot itself looks promising hence why i started reading it. maybe its just me but as i get through the middle storyline, it just felt redundant and there is so much things that dont have any explanation and i stopped reading half way thru because i was lowkey frustrated. i did plan to read it from start just to reset the mood but it doesnt work for me.

Things that I really liked about this book:
- Cute romance between the main leads
- Romance is not the focus of the book
- Side characters are fully fleshed out and dynamic (I loved Song Yimian's growth!)
- Female characters are not villainized (instead, you get beautiful friendships and rivalry)
- Never forgetting the constant struggle for your passion and how it's worth it
- Found family trope
- Unexpected humor sprinkled throughout
- Your Dad's constant infamy

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. There's no spectacular plot for the most part, or big conflict. It felt more like a slice of life, with a heavy focus on the entertainment industry. The novel also wasn't purely focused on the romance - a lot of time was spent describing the various projects the artists worked on.

I loved the ideas explored in the book. It exalts the beauty of old traditions and talents of experts who've perfected their craft over years. It takes a dig at the mass-market music and movies that seem to be made more for profit than for the enjoyment of the audience. These music and movie producers treat the audience like sheep to shear rather than intelligent beings that are able to understand complex plots, lyrics, or melodies. Deficiencies in the product are taped over with hype marketing and paid reviews. I'm not sure I believe the author's solution to this problem, but it is nice to read a story that focuses on attempting to fix the purely capitalistic model.

I also liked how the book explored the idea of passion and what it means to live. Someone who has a passion for something will find their life meaningful. Even just seeing someone who has a great passion, and helping them succeed can make life feel worthwhile. On the other hand, life with only passion and no friendship or love can also be bleak. I liked reading how the people who devoted their life to a passion were able to find friendship and love in their next life. I hope the moral of the story is not that us peons with only one life to live can only have great passion or great love.

I also liked how this book touched on the importance of not lose yourself in the process of making money. The artist that did wasn't really able to be passionate about her work. She'd lost her identity, and even though her life was comfortable, she had no reason to come back. It wasn't until she realized she could both be a singer and show her authentic side that she was able to come back to life.

Another wonderful surprise was how neutral the nationalism in this book was. There's definitely pro-China themes, but not in a way that tries to put down other countries. The author even has a US segment of the story that felt like it was written by someone who had actually visited, and possibly even lived, in the US. For a Chinese web novel, this is refreshing. I loved how the Chinese and American characters used their mutual love of music to communicate; such a unifying idea feels rare in this increasingly xenophobic world.

The one thing I don't really agree with the author on is how talent can guarantee success. There are so many talented musicians and actors that won't ever be famous, merely due to bad luck or bad management or bad marketing. A famous superstar from the past is not necessarily going to succeed given another life. Their road to success was probably mostly paved with nuggets of luck, whether it's the connections they happened to make or their background they were born into. But I guess this book does acknowledge this slightly; all the stars thank their agent because they know without such an all-powerful agent, they might not have had such a remarkable impact despite their glorious past lives.

Ceritanya cukup menarik.

An interesting genre mix that's mostly entertainment circle, but with a strong dash of supernatural. Small parts of rebirth face-slapping but not really -- the agent Shen Huai's "reborn" artists are ghosts who wake up in the bodies of recently-killed people. The ghosts have wishes and obsessions (within the e-circle) they can't leave behind, and the departed souls also (mostly) had dreams in the e-circle they wanted to reach. The romance feels almost like a sideplot, mostly it's about the reborn ghosts trying to stimulate the declining entertainment industries (mostly music, acting, and directing) back to the heights they remember. It's a fairly interesting take because it feels like the author is actually quite critical of current fan culture, social media, and the various Chinese entertainment industries compared to foreign ones - which is unusual to see in c-novels.

I was sad that my favourite side-pair never got actual confirmation or one of the many extras devoted to them :<

Aww, it's finally 0ver. :( This is one of my absolute favorite web novels, especially entertainment circle ones. The cast of characters includes both men and women (even though the main couple is gay, which isn't usually the case, usually there would be all guys) and the main cast is very well developed. The supernatural twist is well done, and Shen Huai and Ye Cang's romance is really cute. I love them together. The side characters' growth is excellent, as it the main couple's. I love Shen Huai, Ye Cang, Chu Mei Bo, Song Yimian, Guo Wenyuan, Xia Shiyu, and even Pei Ran. The story was very engaging, and they did the acting/singing scenes very well. I really loved the passion that everyone had for their chosen careers, even after death, in the case of this story. 5 stars! Would reread.

Como re lectura, se salva. Es muy entretenido pero al ser tan largo tome la decisión de parar en cierto punto para leer otras cosas 😅 como es slice of life me cansaba sentir que no pasaba mucho si leía todo seguido

Completed! I like it. If u want full blown fluff BL then this is not for you. The story focus on the entertainment industry. MC is the center of everything and there’s a lot of chapters for the side characters. 5 side characters + ML. And each of them have a complete story.

I enjoyed reading this book, I grew very attached to the characters and I loved reading about the legends that they became once again. It’s a very simple read, a bit of slow burn? But once they confirm it, everyone basically already knew lol. I love all the characters and how silly they were, everyone had such a cute relationship/friendship.

This isn’t my best review since I read it a long time again, maybe one day I’ll come back and reread it and re-edit my review lol.
