Family comes first. I knew that. I knew there would be sacrifices and we are so close to having it all. I knew because I had the perfectly laid out plan to make it happen.
That is until she walked in and knocked my world on its ass.
Sydney’s strong, sexy, independent – possibly more than I can handle. She’s everything I’ve ever wanted, but my reality and the secret I’m harboring, might have her running in the other direction.
Will it all go up in flames if I take a chance on her?
Amanda Shelley writes romantic stories you can escape into. Some are steamy, others are sweet but all have strong characters with a little bit of sass.
When not writing, Amanda enjoys time with her family, playing chauffeur, chef and being an enthusiastic fan for her children. Keeping up with them keeps her alert and grounded in reality. She enjoys long car rides, chai lattes and popping her SUV into four-wheel drive for adventures anywhere.

First off just let me say that I absolutely loved the epilogue. It was absolutely perfect.
Vince has been through so much in his life & is still this amazing young man. I love how much he loved & cared for his family. Little Julia almost stole the show in this book. She is absolutely adorable. For being such a young age & having so many responsibilities, he was still so happy, caring, driven & loving. His relationship with his family is what really made this book for me.
I don’t know why but I expected Sydney to be different than she was. She was a badass, independent woman but she had major trust & communication issues. I really liked the connection she had with Vince & how she fit in with his family.
A super cute read with amazing characters that will tug at your heartstrings. I can’t wait for Vanessa’s story!
This is the first book I have read by Ananda Shelley but it certainly won’t be the last. Vince is book 2 in the Perfectly Independent Series and as you can see I’m prove this book can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone but I’m sure like me this book will leave you wanting to play catch up with this series. Sydney and Vince has a lot of baggage and they are both still trying to come to terms with their past so will they become stronger together or will the secret Vince is hiding have Sydney running for the hills. I was captivated by this couples journey and once I started reading there was no putting down until I had read the final line. I loved the sassy Sydney and I adored the caring, compassionate Vince and I found myself hoping and wishing this couple got the HEA they both deserved. Vince is a great read and I’m excited to read more in this series as well as checking out other works by this talented author.
4 star review of Vince (Perfectly Independent #2) by Amanda Shelley
Amanda Shelley is a new author to me. All it takes is one instant to change the course of so many lives and that is what happened to Vince and Sydney.
This was an entertaining, emotional read that drew me in and kept me interested from the first to the last chapter. I found Amanda Shelley’s writing style to be enjoyable and the story flowed quite well.
When they meet, the attraction is immediate but the question is will they act on it or deny themselves what they both want? Both Vince and Sydney have baggage and still trying to come to terms with the past. What will happen when Vince’s secret is revealed? Will Sydney run?
I loved how sassy and feisty Sydney is, not afraid to give as good as she gets whilst Vince is such a loving, compassionate and caring man; they seemed to be so right for one another. The connection between them is strong and it was a good foundation to build a relationship on.
Have you ever read a book and said to yourself man that was good, I really liked them but wish that I could have had more of them together? Well this is the book for you then. I would guess 90% of this book they are together and are developing their relationship. That had me beyond giddy. I really enjoyed what a sassy spitfire Sydney was and how her mouth was faster than her brain. She was so awkward sometimes that it was cute. And Vince is such an amazing guy stepping up and being the male figure for his niece. I loved his loyalty and devotion so much. He was pretty spectacular in all things. This book was low on drama and angst but it was the perfect sweet and feel good book that I needed. I am loving this series. Highly recommend.
Due to a tragedy Vince is dedicated to his family and they come first in his life with work, school and friends a distant second while romance doesn’t even register on his radar. On a rare night out with his friends his world is rocked when it brings Sydney into his life.
Sydney is fierce, independent and cautious about those she allows close. She quickly realizes that Vince isn’t like the other men she has dated and rather than pushing him away she wants him close but will the secret he holds bring them closer or tear them apart?
Sydney and Vince couldn’t be more different when it came to their lifestyles and personalities but in each other they found the balance and future they both deserve.
This is the second book in the perfectly independent series and first time I am reading Amanda Shelley . The story can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone. It’s a feel good low on drama and sweet romance. Both Sydney and Vance have been through things in life but still are moving forward. I loved Vance character , it was heartwarming how he stepped up for his niece and how loyal he was. Both Sydney and Vance characters are cute and likeable. It was a good feel read and I enjoyed reading it. A must read!
Amanda Shelley’s Perfectly Independently series is very quickly becoming my favorite series to read. I looked forward to Vince’s book and now I’m anxious for the third book to arrive.
Vince is a standalone novel, however it does feature characters from the first book in the series, Drew. Vince’s story takes place during the same time as Drew’s story. You get little glimpses of the middle and end of Drew’s story.
Vince’s story is about falling in love with a standoffish and gorgeous bartender named Sydney.
Our story opens on Vince’s 21st birthday night out. Prior to heading out to the bar we were briefly introduced to Vince’s twin, Vanessa, and her daughter Julia.
While out with the guys, one of his friends decides that he is going to drunk and determinedly hit on Sydney. Vince tags along with him, mainly to stop his friend from being too obnoxious. Vince is attracted to the sassy, independent, take no prisoners, redhead. Sydney thinks he’s cute, but just wants the guys to grab their drinks and leave. Of course the story for these two doesn’t stop there. A few days later they run into each other on campus. From there attraction and friendship begin.
My favorite thing about this series and why I’m so very passionate about it is due to the PEOPLE Ms. Shelley writes in her stories. Her characters are given flaws; flaws that directly impact their behavior and relationships, just like real people in the big world. Her characters struggle with heavy issues and stress. Ms. Shelley doesn’t lighten these things nor does she make them a huge elephant sitting on her plot. Yes, the issues obviously create tension and strife in the relationships, but it’s the way Ms. Shelley allows her characters to react to each other is what has made me a life long fan of this series. Her characters admit to and try to work out their issues. That’s it.
In Vince’s story, he and Vanessa are not only orphans, but they are also co raising Vanessa’s toddler. Yes, this book features a single mom who became a mom in high school and is struggling with all that means. Vince is trying his hardest to achieve his dreams and degree while making every sacrifice he can to ensure Vanessa succeeds as well. This main subject is bluntly and plainly discussed through out the story. Vince is juggling so much to support his family. The more Sydney gets to know him, the more she sees this, and she values this loyalty and determination in him.
Sydney has her own struggles. She’s not an orphan on paper, but she is an orphan. Her dad has been never been in her life or of he was, it wasn’t healthy or pleasant. Syd lived with her mom, but Syd’s grandmother was her actual mom. Her grandmother provided the constant adult support, authority and stability that every kid needs. Once Syd’s grandmother passes away, Syd’s mom packs up to travel with her boyfriend, never checking in with Syd much past that. Syd has gone through the same grief, pain, and loss that Vince and Van go through.
This series is wonderful at stressing the importance of communication between two people. These two characters have fights. They don’t explode and go into a turmoil of drama. They confront each other and push for a conversation. Each book highlights how couples see and hear each other and decide how to move forward from there.
Another key item I love in these books is the way the attraction and intimacy build in the plots. The characters don’t just jump into a sexual relationship. They start with physical intimacies but place more value on learning about the other person and developing a multi layered attraction and relationship before they wind up in bed.
Finally Ms. Shelley’s characters see each other’s flaws. They work through learning to accept the other person for themselves, flaws and all.
With all of this, Ms. Shelley also gives a wonderful story. There are laughs and tears. There are moments that warm your heart. Due to the byplay between these two, the pages just keep turning easily. There are hard spots, but this isn’t an angsty or twisty book that you’ll need to put down for a breather. This is a pick up and never put it down till it’s finished read.
Overall, I am recommending this series to new adult readers that I interact with. Besides having solid plot lines, strong plot devices, and interesting characters, these books illustrate healthy relationship traits. Neither partner is ever held 100% accountable for making the relationship work. These stories also illustrate how much work goes into balancing your needs and your partner’s needs. The stories are also told by both POVs. I can’t recommend these enough to readers who are looking for realistic yet attainable stories of how romance and life work in the best of ways.
Vince is the second book in the Perfectly Independent series. This is a contemporary new adult romance with college age characters and lots of steam. I read it as a standalone, and I didn't feel like I was missing any important plot by doing so. The first book is about Abby and Drew. Abby's best friend and roommate, Sydney is the female star of book two.
Vince and Vanessa are twins whose parents died tragically in a car accident during their senior year of high school, leaving them as each other's only family. Along with Vanessa's infant daughter, Julia, of course. Julia's father was never in the picture, leaving Vince and Vanessa to support themselves and a sweet baby girl. Though he was all set to go to college in another town, Vince switched to the local college so he could support Vanessa and Jules. Now Jules is 3 and she dearly loves her "Unks." Vince works really hard at school and is loyal to his family and friends. He has never let himself get into a romantic relationship because he wants to be there for Vanessa and Jules no matter what. Everything changes the night of his 21st birthday, when his friends drag him to the bar for a typical night out (for them at least). There he meets, Sydney, a beautiful, sassy and fiercely independent bartender who takes him by surprise and leaves him thinking about her every minute after their encounter. Though Vince tries not to get involved with Sydney, he fails, and she is soon wrapped up in every part of his life, even spending time with Vanessa and Jules. But as he falls harder for Syd, Vince is forced to make a decision. If he selfishly takes this chance at happiness with Sydney, will he risk losing the only family he has left?
Vince is a steamy love story set against a real life backdrop where things aren't always easy for the characters. I hope you enjoy it as I did. While I was reading, I found myself reflecting on my own college days (way back when!). Readers will become very invested in the strong-willed characters in this heartfelt, romantic, and powerful story of family and love.
Thank you to Wildfire Marketing Solutions for providing me with an early review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is book two in The Perfectly Independent Series and it is Vince and Sydney's story and omg I couldn't put this book down. Vince has a twin sister Vanessa and a niece Julia and since there parents were killed Vince devoted all his time to his sister and niece along with his college work but his main priority is always family and he is always there for them so today Vince is twenty one and he is going out with his friends and that is when he meets Sydney who he wants to get to know as she is beautiful and sassy but Vince has a big secret that nobody knows about so what will happen when it is revealed. Sydney works at the bar to make extra money while she is in college but she takes no messing from the men around her and puts them in there place and she can give as good as she gets but when she sees Vince for the first time she is instantly attracted to him but will she do anything about it. Omg I absolutely loved this book and I couldn't put it down as I had to see what would happen next and it was so addictive. Vince and Sydney had such a strong connection and not chemistry but they had both been through so much in there lives but will they be able to let down there walls and let each other in so they can have a chance of being together or will they miss out on something really special. Vince is loyal, sweet, kind, tender, handsome and a true gentleman and Sydney is beautiful, sassy, kind, takes no messing and even though they are totally different they are so perfect for each other. The storyline pulls you in right from the first page and I love how they are always there for each other regardless of the situation. I can't wait to read Vanessa's story next as she definitely deserves her happy ending after everything that she has been through. Amanda Shelley is an amazing author and writer and I have read all of her books and she never disappoint her reader's and that is why I definitely recommend this book and others by her.
I Voluntarily Reviewed an Arc Copy of this Amazing Book.
”I’ve never reacted to anyone like this, and I’m completely in uncharted territory.”
Vince Larson is focused on getting his degree, and making sure his twin sister and his niece have the best shot at a future. He’s had little room in his life for anything else but when he meets Sydney, for the first time in his life, he starts to put his own needs and desires first. After a bunch of duds, Sydney has decided to abstain from men for a while, however, sweet, sexy Vince has her falling off the wagon. The more time she spends with him, the more he rocks her world, and soon she knows she’s invested in their relationship. However, things aren’t always that simple and Vince still has as lot to share about his past.
”The flame that runs through her burns hot in my soul.”
Vince and Sydney’s story was a steady progress. From the moment they meet to their burgeoning desire to their fall into love. There was cute awkwardness, endearing earnestness, and steamy sexiness. There were also heartfelt, emotional moments when Vince gradually opened up and bared his soul to Sydney. I loved their connection and their chemistry. Sydney was a firecracker and well able to look after herself. She was feisty and direct but, like Vince, she too had her share of vulnerabilities. Overall, a really great story.
Vince started a little slow for me but after the first few chapters it started to pick up.
Vince and his twin sister Vanessa and Vanessa’s three year old daughter, Julia, are all each other have and Vince is extremely protective and supportive of his family. He balances taking care of them and helping out as much as possible, working and going to school. They lost their parents tragically and that broke my heart, but I loved how these two siblings have a strong bond and you can feel the love between them. When Vince is out celebrating his birthday with some friends, he meets Sydney who just so happens to be working at the bar. There is an instant connection between them and things progress from there.
There was an instant connection between Vince and Sydney, however, their relationship progressed rather slowly. They each had things they needed to overcome and work through. This was a little bit of a slow burn and at times I found it frustrating because I just wanted to tell the both of them to stop being so stubborn and just give in to their chemistry. I loved how easily Sydney fit in with Vince and Vanessa. She instantly connected with the entire family and there were plenty of sweet moments between Syd and Jules.
If you’re looking for a slow burnish romance, with a cinnamon roll hero this is one to check out.
Oh wow. I was captured from the start with this book. Vince was totally it for me in this book. From the start of the book you get to see him as this sweet, helpful, caring person. Especially where little Julia is concerned. I loved their interactions with each other.
But Vince has also had a lot happening in his life. He is one half of a twin and him and his sister lost their parents in a tragic car accident their senior year in high school, leaving them alone. Now its just the three of them leaning on each other. Until the night of his 21st birthday when his friends take him out to a bar and he meets Sydney.
Sydney is beautiful, stunning, sassy and totally independent. Trying not to get involved with Sydney turns out to be harder than he thought. Soon she is part of their little family. But the more time he spends with her the more he feels overwhelmed and wondering if taking this chance with Sydney will change his life and not to mention sharing not just his time with her but also his past.
This book was so good. I loved it from the start. Vince totally made this story for me, not leaving out Sydney. She was smart, sweet, fiery sassy and totally independent. And man I loved little Julia so much, she was the cutest ever. I am totally looking forward to her Vanessa story. Its going to be super amazing 😊 ♥
* * I HAD BEEN GIVEN AN ADVANCED READERS COPY IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW * *
I love the smooth and amazing approach Amanda Shelley has with all her stories. They are all of the best parts of a romance that sucks you in. They are sweet, sexy and sassy.
Vince is just the softest but most amazing character, taking on everyone's problems to himself and trying to make the world a better place for his family and friends. He meets this sassy girl and together they have almost and immediate connection.
The sassy that Sydney puts out there is 200% real and 200% amazing. I love when the leading lady knows their worth and doesn't let anyone tell them less.
Sydney is the loud to Vince's quiet. And Vince is the soft to Sydney's prickly. They came into each others lives at the most perfect timing. They have the same major and class load but it took them till a few months before graduation to find eachother. That shows that love is fated and people come.into our lives when we aren't looking and we do need them the most.
And as a lesson that is learned a lot in Amanda Shelley s books is, communication is key in relationships. Talk it out then you 'walk it out' 😜
Sometimes it’s nice to read about a nice guy... one who cares about this family... one who sticks to his word... this story is definitely one of those. Vince and his sister Vanessa lost their parents and have stuck together to make their lives the best they can for themselves and Van’s daughter Julia. Vince lives for his family but has he truly been living?
Sydney has been jaded by men and her parents. She built up walls that only her friends can get through. While on a dating diet she’s content to work at the bar and focus on school. At least that’s until Vince walks into the bar. Vince and Syd both find that the lives they’re living could be so much better if they’d just let go of their own expectations.
I loved that Vince cared so much for Van and Jules. At times I wanted him to just open up but I admired his selflessness. He’s quiet and sweet and nothing like his friends which is refreshing. Syd is strong willed and stubborn but when she lets her softness show that’s when she really becomes likeable.
I really like how all of the books in this series are roughly interconnected but complete standalones too. Now we get ready for Van’s HEA.
Vince is a fantastic good-guy-gets-the-girl story!
Poor Vince is carrying so much on his shoulders. He is determined to be the support for his sister Vanessa and niece, and is so focused on getting through college. But his focus is shifted when he meets a sassy spitfire bartender named Sydney.
Their rapport is easy from the get-go, and they easily fall into a comfortable relationship that kind of catches them both off-guard. Vince is super sweet and such a romantic... the dates he plans are spectacular! There are a few times when a lack of communication causes some tension between Sydney and Vince, like when she assumes Julia is his kid not knowing she’s his niece, but these two talk it out and their relationship is stronger for it in the end. And finally, Vince has someone he can depend on instead of being the one to carry the load for another person all the time.
Sydney is Abby’s roommate from Drew, so it was nice to see those two again and see how his proposal goes down! I loved that HEA with Vince and Sydney, and the tease we got for Vanessa’s story. I am really looking forward to that book, and seeing how little Julia steals her future father’s heart!
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
Vince doesn't have time for a social life. He's focused on helping his twin sister Vanessa raise her daughter and making sure both of them graduate college on time. Meeting firecracker bartender Sydney on his 21st birthday changes everything; Vince can't get Sydney and their immediate connection off his mind. But family is everything for him. Can he find a way to be there for his family while putting himself first?
I love strong, independent heroines like Sydney! In book 1, we learn about Sydney's pickiness with men. In this book, we understand that her pickiness is more about knowing her worth and not accepting anything else. She challenges Vince and makes him prove that he's worthy of her.
Sydney and Vince are opposites but have some fundamental similarities. They make a great couple; she's the hurricane to his calm in a storm. I loved the way Sydney is there for Vince as he works through all of the things in his past. She has his back.
Vince is pretty impressive too! He's loyal and devoted to his family. Seeing Vince with his adorable niece, Julia is swoon-worthy. Vince and his backstory pulled at my heartstrings.
I love this series! Each story has been unique and special, and Vince is no exception. I'm looking forward to book 3 in this series, which is Vanessa and Damien's story.
I received an early copy of the book from the author. I'm sharing my honest and unbiased opinion in this voluntary review.
I received a free advanced copy of Vince book 2 of The Perfectly Independent Series to read and review. First I’d like to say that the storyline was a typical boy meet girl, falls in love and breaks girls heart kinda story. But the part that sets it apart is exactly how Vince handles the things that upset him in his life. How he pushes everyone away and doesn’t open up freely, how he blames himself for things that are beyond his control. In most romance stories that is reserved for the female leads in the story. I have a hard time reading at times due to Vince not being as Strong and Resilient as I’m use to with a male lead but he is strong in his own way. He is compassionate, loyal and trustworthy which is also the opposite of most strong male characters. Nope it was a bad thing...just different than I’m use to. I did enjoy the story and the Syd is one kick-ace individual. She on the other hand is all the things I love about a strong independent yet loyal female lead. And don’t get me started on Vanessa!!! Unbelievably amazing character!
Vince is the second book in the Perfectly Imperfect series. Drew the H in the first book was super sweet and dreamy, and Amanda Shelley has done it again with Vince. The story is sweet, low angst, and both Sydney and Vince are adorable. Their meeting was one of those that just made you smile and how they kept running into each other. Their nervousness, hesitant flirtation, and a Wowza of a first date, just set the stage for their love story.
Like Drew, Vince has tragedy in his background, and that tragedy has shaped who he is and how he handles life. It has also played a significant role in his choices; those choices impact the story and move the story into a level of sublime and tenderness you are not expecting. The beauty of Vince and Sydney's lives intertwining makes this book a joy to read.
I look forward to the next installment in this series from Amanda Shelley. Each of the books from this series is a sweet read-worthy romance and leaves the reader feeling very happy at their conclusion. I can't say Vince is better than Drew or vice-versa, but I will say both books are so worth your time.
Awe Vince, what can I say? There are not a lot of books where the man holds all the secrets and the girl really has none but Vince had a few but they are only to protect himself and his sister and niece. You want to know what an ultimate book boyfriend is then look no further because you found him! Vince is probably one of the most heartfelt and romantic books I have read in a while! Plus it has the added excitement of a really awesome little girl named Jules (who is Vince’s niece). I love a book that can pull off a romantic plot mixed in with a epic family.
Amanda Shelley is becoming one of my favorite authors! I love the romantic stories she puts out and I will just keep reading them when they are released. Her books don’t have a ton of steam in them if that is what you are looking for but honestly that is not a reason to not read this book. The romance is just so stunning, I would give this book more than 5 stars if I could! I cannot wait for Damien. If it’s anything like Drew and Vince I’m sure I will devour it!
I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review!
This is the first time I've read anything by Amanda Shelley and I didn't even get to read the first book in this series. But I will say that now I will make the effort to read more by her. This book very quickly draws you into the story and make you want more. I longed to be Sydney to have the every present Vince wanting me. Sydney is a fireball. she everything a young women should be full of passion and force to be dealt with. Vince is quiet and yet strong and sturdy. A true family man, who puts everything on the line to support his family. I have to say things that are not yet know to those who haven't read this will quickly find a surprise. You must read this I promise you wont be disappointed. I really want Vanessa and Julia to get a happy story. As as we all know who ever gets them get Vince as well. the respect that I have for this author and her characters is far and wide. Great job!
Vince by Amanda Shelley is book 2 in the Perfectly Independent series. This books is a dual point of view novel that follows Vince a college student just trying to protect his family and Sydney a sassy bartender who is working her way through college to get her dream education. When the pair meet for the first time the Sparks fly and you can feel the pull right from the start. I loved how Amanda Shelley made this a twist on the typical college romance and I throughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. Sydney was sassy, fun and stubborn and Vince was sweet, family orientated and relatable. I would highly recommend this book to any romance fan and I can’t wait to see where she takes the next story!
Vince is my first book by the author and I have to say I definitely want to read more of her work if this story is anything to go by. I loved the characters and their strength and how heartwarming the storyline was. I really loved Sydney. What a woman. Strong, determined and when she meets Vince, needless to say she really makes him work for her attention. Their banter was amazing, their chemistry was undeniable. Vince’s niece really did steal the show, such a cute kid. Their family bond is really quite something! This book was really wonderful. It had my attention from the start and to be quite honest I am excited to read more from the series. Parts of Vince’s story may be sad, however the way he has grown and the way he supports his sister is admirable. Loved it!
I feel like it's been forever since I've read something like Vince.
It was a very sweet and easy story to read. Vince and Sydney were sweet and connected on a deeper level. So it was nice reading how their relationship grows from the first moment they met. I loved their banter, her sass, and his selflessness and patience. Both of them are such great characters despite them having secrets and issues of their own.
Their story is well-written. It is emotional, entertaining, heartwarming, filled with secrets, and undeniable chemistry. His niece, Jules, also made it all the more adorable. I am really looking to Vanessa's story next!
I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.
Even though this is book 2 in the series, you can definitely read it as a standalone and still understand what is going on. That's what I did!
This is a sweet novel about two great characters taking a chance on exploring the connection they have with each other. The slow burn romance is sweet as well as torture waiting for Sydney and Vince to realize how deep their feelings goes. I loved seeing both of them with Jules and how patient they were.
This was a good book and I'm glad I got the chance to read it!
Vince is working hard at school, his job and helping his sister Van raise her three year old daughter. Van is also working and in school so they are raising her together. Though he doesn't have time for a relationship when Vince meets Sydney he falls for her easily. Sydney is also working and in school and finds Vince to be not like other guys she's dated. As Sydney and Vince grow closer together the hard part will be convincing Vince he deserves to be happy. Lot's of growing pains and learning to communicate. Beautiful story!
Amanda Shelley nails sweet perfection with Vince. This book is loaded with all the heartwarming feel good moments. Honestly reading Vince is like being wrapped up in a warm blanket, while sitting in the world's comfiest chair, and being given a hug by Jason Momoa all at the same time. It's the epitome of feel good romance. You get all the swoon, all the warm and fuzzies, and deeper emotions to keep it grounded in reality and not too over the top. Vince and Sydney have such a lovely relationship. It's a bit of a slow burn, but it in all the right ways. You truly get to experience the love that grows between these two as their attraction grows into a life long love.
This is the 2nd book in this amazing series and is Vince and Sydney’s story. Vince is sweet, caring, and completely selfless, while Sydney is stubborn and independent, and although they may be total opposites, together they are perfect. Both characters have baggage from their pasts which they are struggling to come to terms with. When Vince’s secret is revealed will this be the end of their relationship? This is a well written story which is emotional, entertaining, heartwarming, and with secrets, undeniable chemistry, and engaging and realistic characters. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend for all readers.
http://www.unbrindelecture.com/2021/0... A fairly classic new adult romance with a quiet but steady pace. We let ourselves be carried away by this duo which is extremely endearing because their life course could be that of anyone around us. They are touching and take us into their story with pleasure, even if it comes as no great surprise.
I enjoyed my first read by Amanda Shelley. It took me a few chapters to get into the story but after that I fell. Vince is a family man..taking care of his twin and his niece. He made goals and he is doing everything in his power to keep on track. That is until Sydney walks into his life. She is feisty and sassy. I loved that she challenged Vince a little. Vince wasn't our typical alpha male in most stories and that was actually refreshing. A male lead that has doubts and needs to keep his feelings bottled up to protect himself. It was a sweet and quick story that has a ton of emotion with it.
Okay.. first off, I have to say I love, adore, and want to by Sydney when I grow up! Her snark when dealing with unwanted’s is the stuff legends are made of. I loved her when we briefly met her in Drew - also by Amanda Shelley, so when I found out she was essentially getting her own book?!? What words can I use to describe it?
Once again, Amanda magically weaves together words that make me feel like I’m reading the journal of friends rather than a novel. These two, oh, and let’s not forget that adorable 4 year old who is so pivotal to some scenes - I think she needs her own book too! Guess that will keep Amanda Shelley in her writing cave for YEARS to come! Thanks again for another 5 star read Amanda!!!! #VinceisLIVE
