House of Shadows throws us back in the world of magic, mystery, mayhem, and murder. It picks up from the end of House of Dragons and we get more of everything we love in YA fantasy.

After winning the tournament, Kerrigan now must complete the training for her and her dragon if she wants to be a member of the society. There are five total trainees and not all may make it through the rigorous tasks ahead. They will be tested like never before and it is stressful. I love the bonds that

YES! So happy to be back in the Royal Houses world again. Ford has my heart and I never, ever want it back. Add in the fierce Kerrigan in all her half-human, half-fae awesomeness, dragon training, the House of Shadows, and all of the mystery and destruction that comes with it, I'm hooked! Can't wait for the next one. ...more

House of Shadows is the second installment in the Royal Houses series. Since it is a continuation in an epic fantasy series, book one, House of Dragons, must be read first to avoid confusion and to understand the complex world building.

Since it had been a long time since I read the debut, I was fearful I would be confused at the start of House of Shadows, but KA Linde flawlessly delivered cues to clue the reader in without m

After reading House of Dragons, I can easily say that The Royal Houses series has earned its place on my favorite series list!! As soon as I finished reading book #1 I jumped straight in to book #2 House of Shadows. I enjoyed  reading "House of Dragons", but this one is even better!!! Kerrigan journey continues on, she thought her life was difficult but now it's about to get a whole lot more complicated. A touch of mystery, action and suspense; the power of creating friendships with the unlikeli ...more

I am really enjoying this  Royal Houses series.  House of Dragons was first and very exciting and unexpected.  I loved the dragons and all the magic aspects in the world building, along with Royal Houses.  The Society is sort of a law enforcement organization made up of fae with dragons providing extra abilities to help with

House of Shadows, book two in K.A Linde's epic fantasy/paranormal Y/A series Royal Houses and for me a highly anticipated read that did not disappoint.

So at the risk of spoiling things for both book one and two, I'm going to keep this short and sweet.

Kerrigan was everything I thought she'd be and more. She's fearless and sweet and perfectly flawed. Nothing in life has ever come easy to our half fae queen. Torn between two worlds that are both so very different, she is trying to find her balance

Linde is absolutely knocking it out of the park with the Royal Houses series and it’s killing me to have to wait so long in between each series. Because I’m so eager to know what’s going to happen. Fast-paced and my goodness, the tension between Kerrigan and Fordham is through the roof!

Book 2 pretty much picks up where the last one ended, not going to lie, since it’s been so long I definitely forgot some things here and there. But as I kept reading, my memory of what happened was coming back. Ke

I have been waiting for this book since last October! This book did not disappoint.

It took a bit to remember what happened in the first book but I didn't have trouble delving back into this world.

I enjoyed seeing the House of Shadows. I also enjoyed seeing Kerrigan and Fordham's relationship develop.

I am not a fan of March. Ugh I'm curious to see how that will play out and how Kerrigan can get out of it.

There was so much happening with the wall, training, mysteries of the Red Masks and the Fat

As soon as i reached the end of House of Dragons I instantly started looking forward to this second installment! I picked this one up as soon as i could and got back into the Royal Houses world! I enjoyed this second installment!

Kerrigan's journey continues! I wasn't sure what all was going to happen next in her story and I really liked how this installment kept me on my toes. I enjoyed getting to dig deeper into this world and with these characters. Once again, I so enjoyed what Fordham brought

So, let me preface this if you have NOT read House of Dragons, stop, turn around and go back to read it because it is an absolute must! Now that is out of the way, OMG! This book! The level of depth that Linde gives us with her fantasy books is 100% chef’s kiss! I could NOT stop reading this one once I started. I was wrapped up in Kerrigan and how things were all going to play out for her. We delved into the House of Shadows this time and I was just absolutely spellbound by everything. It is raw ...more

I was so ready to get back to this series! Book 1 left me so intrigued with the characters and I couldn’t wait to see where the story would go. I love the multiple perspectives that we get in this book. It really opens up the world even more. Fordham and Kerrigan’s relationship builds and builds and the trust they have in each other makes my romantic heart thrilled. Can’t wait to see what twists we’ll see in House of Curses!!

Book two of the Royal House Series was everything I had hoped it would be and so much more. We waited a long time for this book and believe me this book did not disappoint one bit. Once again K.A. Linde pulls us into an amazing world full of magic, secrets, intrigue and best of all, dragons.

“You shouldn’t stay hidden. You can’t be contained, and no one should try to force you. Wild and untamed are the only ways in which you should exist,”

Kerrigan has had her work cut out for her right from birth but she has managed to overcome all the odds and now she is ready to take her place in the Dragon Society, but as a half Fae and half human this is bound to be an uphill battle. If having to fight for her spot on this elite team wasn’t hard and rigorous enough Kerrigan has to face The House

House of Shadows was a wild ride. I've been anticipating it since I read the first book, House of Dragons, in 2020. A lot was going on in this second installment. Not a lot that I can share in this review because I would spoil some events in book 1.

I couldn't put this down! I was captivated by this world again from page 1. The pacing was insane and the political intrigue was off the charts. This world is complex, it was hard at times to keep up with all the intricate even

We start where House of Dragons (book one) ends…..
So without giving too much away from book one, which you definitely need to read before reading book two. Let’s review book two…..

This book was just as good as the last book. We get more of the plot unwinding and drawing you in. Kerrigan is a half fae half human that shouldn’t be going to be trained as a dragon rider. But she is, and the society needs t

Thanks to the author for providing a review copy. All opinions are my own.

More romance, more action, more dragons and more magic! While I enjoyed the 1st book I felt this was a better book with it's MANY plot twists and turns. I rarely felt like I could predict what would happen next and I love when that happens. The scope of the story has changed as the settings expand along with all the problems Kerrigan must deal with.

Kerrigan is a fantastic character, I absolutely adore, she is strong and has everything I like in Fantasy story heroine. This world. Even though it's been AWHILE since I read book 1, I wasn't lost at all when I dived into this storyline. The author did a great job bringing me back into the plot and remembering all of the characters again, like it was just yesterday that I read the first book.

High fantasy is a challenge. Not only are you creating a world whole-cloth, but you also have to develop governmental systems, religious systems, traditions, legends, a history for this world, and so on. KA Linde has created a fantastic world of dragons and magic, and I was pulled in and could not put this book down. I had not read The House of Dragons, but I don't feel as though I walked into the middle of a story that I knew nothing about; no, I catapulted into Kerrigan's world and all the sub ...more

In the continuation of the Royal Houses series, this is the second book so nothing is finished but the tension increases and the adventure continues full blast ahead. Kerrigan and Fordham are in the Society training program, working hard to achieve acceptance. Kerrigan continues to suffer discrimination from a lot of sources.

Meanwhile, the mayhem of the Red Masks terrorists continues, the political intrigues with the Society continues, and now we have a new character, Lord Ashby March. Kerrigan

Kerrigan was back in all her glory trying to make the world a more accepting place. She is fighting for justice and equality. She has won the dragon tournament and has fought hard for her place but not many are so accepting of her.

I go through different stages in my reading so I've moved away from paranormal for a cool minute. However, I've said it before, and I'm saying it again, I would read anything the brilliant K.A. Linde writes, including her grocery list, so she's an automatic one click for me. That being said, it makes her one of the reasons I've been slowly moving back to paranormal as I absolutely LOVE the Royal Houses series hard.
