This was a really cute story about two people who meet again by chance. Cori is rebounding from a breakup when she runs in to her old flame Grey. Neither had forgotten the other and their incredible chemistry. Can they make it work this time around? Both are struggling with their feelings and not wanting to repeat the past. I liked this story, but felt that is was a little rushed. The whole Breakup Bash idea was really interesting and how the stories about her friends are happening at the same t ...more

so I am assuming this is the last book to this group of girls. We had four women who had some bad situations, t bad relationship but were able to overcome them because they were never alone, they had each other to cry with, have fun with and generally just be the friend when you need them. We have Cori who has had a boyfriend for two years but noticed that there relationship was blah and she needed to spice it up, unfortunately or in my thought fortunately her boyfriend dumps her and she goes to ...more

This story surprised me. It's one of my favorite romance themes, second chance. This became a much more involved story than I expected and I found I quite enjoyed it. The back and forth of will they make it or won't they was believable and real. There was so much to overcome in such a short period of time. You see by the end how very important honest communication is in a relationship. Grey has to decide if he has what it takes to be a DJ once again instead of falling back and spending his life ...more

The Last Rule of Makeups by Nina Crespo a pleasing four-star read. This is number three in the Breakup Bash series, but they can be read as a stand-alone as I haven’t read all of the previous stories only one and I don’t feel like I missed anything. Cori Ross was such a complex woman, she has been burned before and let down by her ex, can another ex-relight the fire in her? Can she do the same for him? As he just isn’t the same man who left her behind. Can they help each other and find who the n ...more

The Last Rule of Makeups is the third book in Nina Crespo's Breakup Bash series and features Cori, who, after being dumped by her long-term boyfriend Kevin attends a breakup bash with friends Alexa and Nat, and decides that the best way to get over her ex is to get under someone else. And that someone else happens to be Grey an ex she let get away. But one night with him isn't enough and soon Cori finds herself in danger of making the same mistakes with Grey as she did before.

Cori is out for a night of celebration after her boyfriend of two years ends their relationship. She runs into another ex boyfriend named Grey. Grey is in town after a tragic event and has other plans. The two end up hooking up for just sex but the fire is still there after all this time. Can they overcome their different plans for life to have a future? A good read.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.

Second chance romance gets a great, steamy story in this latest book from Nina Crespo. Cori and Grey are fantastic characters that the reader can’t help rooting for.

Cori and her besties are attending a party promoted as the “Breakup Bash.” Cori is still recovering from her breakup with her long term boyfriend. While he wasn’t the most exciting guy in the world, Cori thought everything was ok until he broke up with her. While at the club, she comes across her college boyfriend Grey. Grey is a DJ

"How do you feel about us continuing to see each other?" She just needed to make one thing clear to him. "I'd like that. As long as we keep it casual. I just came out of a relationship, so I'm not looking for anything long-term right now."

Nat meant those words. Her last relationship took a toll on her feelings and self esteem. Running into Grey Latham was definitely unexpected. She hasn't seen him in 6 years, yet it seems like time has stood still. Nat and Grey have an undeniable chemistry, phys

Everyone has a well-loved trope. One of my tip-top most beloved tropes is second chance romance. I get all the super, mega, ultra heart eyes just typing that out. So not only was this cover a massive READ ME NOW to me, but the premise was as well.

Sadly, I’ve come to a place where I don’t trust either. So I entered this read with all the hope and slight trepidation I’ve come to have with every book I read.

I am THRILLED to share that The Last Rule of Makeups not only met my every hope and wish, it

Nina Crespo is a new-to-me author in the sense that I had never read one of her books…until now. I’ve seen her name a lot around the romance book community, and I know several people who really like her writing, so I thought it was time to dive into one of her books for myself to see what’s what. The Last Rule of Makeups is the third book in her Breakup Bash series but can absolutely be read as a standalone title. I haven’t read the first two books, and if I hadn’t already known this one was a p ...more

About the book:
When Cori Ross' steady two year relationship comes to a grinding halt, she realizes she may have been settling. A lot. In order to make sure the next guy she dates into isn't a total bust, she tells herself no relationships for six months. But just as she makes the promise, her old boyfriend Grey, the one man she knew she was never settling for, comes back into town. So she said no relationships, but what's the big deal with a little fling until Grey's gone? Surely she won't get a

Received an ARC in exchange of an honest review.
This the third book in a series but you can read each book as a standalone.

This is the first time I read a work of this author, and I'm very pleased with my experience. It's fairly short but it doesn't feel rushed, and it certainly reads like a 300-page novel would. It's rare that a book centered on a couple who parted amicably in the past and gets another chance to work on their relationship, I must say, that's very refreshing and it's one of th

This romance novel was a perfect cozy fall read, and I almost finished the entire book in one night.

Cori felt like her life had been upended after she left her long-term relationship. She had expected the world out of her relationship with her boyfriend, and he instead decided to move away and dump her. He hadn’t been perfect and this breakup may give her another chance to find someone who is better for her, but she can’t deny that she was getting comfortable in the security of being with him.

REVIEW:
This is the third installment of the Breakup Bash Series.  Cory Ross her ex-boyfriend dated for 2 years when he decided that their relationship would not work because he was no longer happy, and to make it worst he took the coward way out by doing it over the phone. After each break up the girls get together and goes to Club Escapade where they let their hair down and to get over one man and move on to the next.  There are rule to the breakup club.

A sweet and sexy second chance romance!

Once upon a time (OK, it was in college ;) ) Cori and Grey were in a relationship. He asked her to move to Texas with him, and she agreed--only to back out for reasons she didn't really explain to him at the time. They agreed to go their separate ways, though neither was truly happy about it. Several years later, he's back in Maryland, and they meet again. Will their one night stand/reunion lead to more thi

This third installment of the Breakup Bash series was as enjoyable as Breakup Bash Book 2 but it definitely went in a direction that I didn't expect. Since all three books are considered stand alone stories it's not necessary to read the previous ones but I do enjoy learning all the back stories involved with the characters. All three of the women in these books are strong and independent, which I enjoy, but I felt that Cori initially came across as kind of needy in the beginning of this book.

I am a fan of the Breakup Bash series by Nina and so glad that I got to read Cori’s story. All the books in the series can be read as standalone because they all go back to the night of the breakup bash that Cori and her friends attend. Cori attends the breakup bash because her boyfriend of 2 years dumps her and she just wants to move on. That night at the party to runs into her ex boyfriend Grey who was the one that got away. She broke his heart when she didn’t move away with him but Grey never ...more

The Last Rule of Makeups is a quickly paced second chance romance with minimal angst.

When Cori Ross swears off men for the next six months, she has no idea that she’ll (literally) run into one of her exes. Grey Latham was everything she’d ever wanted in a man, but forces bigger than the two of them pulled them apart. There’s no denying that there’s still a simmering attraction between them, so what’s a little fling between exes?

This story is what I call a one-hander. Meaning, it’s meant to be r

This is a steamy, second-chance romance and, although the third in a series, can be read as a standalone - I haven't read the previous two books and still enjoyed this.

When Cori Ross is dumped by the boyfriend she'd been living with for more than two years, she realises that she's actually had a lucky escape though she's still obviously hurt. She goes out with her friends to a party for women celebrating their breakups and initially plans to avoid men and relationships for six months. However, w

Nina Crespo is a new author to me. Love her characters and her writing style and the cover model is awesome. Love the “Last Rule Of Makeups”. This is a great second chance romance which is one of favorite troupes. Seconds chances work sometimes and sometimes they don’t. This was a short read that kept me turning the pages and wanting more. This is the 3rd installment of this series and I will probably read the 1st and 2nd books.

Second chance romances can either be really good, or really bad. Fortunately, this was a good one. For them to work for me, there needs to be a good reason why the couple split up in the first place and a good reason why they might try again. For the couple in The Last Rule of Makeups, Grey and Cori, they split up mostly because he was moving on to a new job and she had a sick father that she was unwilling to leave behind. They probably could have made things work if she had talked to him about ...more

Judge this book by its cover!

Seriously! I totally judged this book by how hot the cover was and I was not disappointed! This is the third book in the Breakup Bash Series by Nina Crespo and it was delicious! This book starts out with Cori hanging out with her friends Alexa and Nat at the Breakup Bash celebration after they’ve recently been dumped. Little did Cori know that she’d run into an ex-boyfriend, Grey, that same night. The story then takes you on a steamy, hot, and passionate rollercoaste

I really enjoyed reading The Last Rule of Makeups, Book 3 in the Breakup Bash series. Each book can be read as a standalone. I will need to revisit Book 1, The First Rule of Hookups, as it's been a while since I first read it and I don't know how I missed Book 2, Rules of a Rebound, but I will definitely be correcting that soon!

The Last Rule of Makeups is the third book in the Breakup Bash series, but it was great as a stand-alone. It was a short book, but the characters and storyline were developed. It was well written, fast-paced, and caught my attention right away. The characters were charming and easy to connect with. Cori Ross was blindsided when her long-time boyfriend dumped her. I thought this 2nd chance romance was pretty sweet. Truly a "meant to be" journey.
Cori had just been settling for these past six years, in romance, in work, in her whole life it seemed. Grey, her love from six years ago, came back into town, and neither one had really gotten over the other. They still had their mojo, and it gets pretty steamy. There's much more to this, with outside factors not helping either. They had to make some important decisions, or it was headed the same direction it wen

4 Star review of The Last Rule of Makeups by Nina Crespo

Nina Crespo is a relatively new author to me. The Last Rule of Makeups is not a particularly long book but Ms. Crespo packed a fair bit into it. This is Cori and Grey’s second chance at love story and what an entertaining read it was.

Having been recently dumped by her boyfriend, Cori is out celebrating her new found single status with her friends. The last thing she expects is to bump in to another ex boyfriend Grey. The chemistry between

DNF @ 51 %.

I don't know why but somehow I didn't connect with this book at all.

It felt like the chapters were too long even if they weren't. I couldn't read more than a chapter or two at the same time and I kept putting down the book for days. I didn't feel the need to go back to reading that I usually do.

Maybe it's because nothing much has happened in the story. They meet, they sleep together and that's it. I DNFed the book around half of the book, right after she found out her ex got married a
