This is a really cute book about the Yukon. Dr. Allan Duncan was sent to Mayo from Winnipeg to take care of the sick. The previous doctor passed away. He has many funny stories about life in the Yukon. It a short book, only 132 pages, but really enjoyable.

A great peak inside the life of a lone doctor in the early days of the Yukon, tales of incredible happenings of patient care and survival.

A series of vignettes that does give a feel for what life was like in the Yukon in this time period. Not enough information about the writer to really get to know him.

I really enjoyed my reread of this book. It was influenced by the fact that I knew the author and he was our Vancouver family's doctor many years ago. Also, I knew all the places and some of the people he talks about in the the Yukon where I grew up. The book is very light and funny in places just like the man who was a delightful Scotsman.
