i remember this being better in grade 7 on wattpad 💔

all the characters did were cry, be sexist, and miscommunicate

What the heck did I just read. My thoughts are all
Over the place, I can’t write a narrative paragraph, I just have to bullet all of my thoughts while reading this:

-What the hell?
- I think I just read 4 story lines at the same time
- I have no idea what I just read or what is going on
- Sooooo many toxic relationships in there
-soooooo many annoying heifers, male and female
- I know it has something to do with fairy tales, but what does any of that have to do with fairy tales???
- why is everyone so h

"Who's afraid of the big bad wolf," by Janie Marie is one of the few books I have read that is an overall page-turner. To go into detail ~WITHOUT SPOILERS~ The author is simply getting better every book and this must be one of my favorites. The attention to detail and character-building really set up this magical yet mysterious world that draws you in. In the best way possible, the characters are the most realistic I have read because of how they develop throughout the chapters. The book really ...more

So addictive!

Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf? is a YA bildungsroman (coming of age) novel about an abused and isolated seventeen-year-old girl, Kylie Hood, as she falls in love for the first time.

From the moment they first meet, Kylie and Logan's connection is palpable, addictive, and it had me wanting to read more. I couldn't put it down. I'm neither a fan or a hater of the fake romance trope, but I thought it worked really well in this novel, especially because there were a few twists along t

This book is violently sexist. I remember reading this on Wattpad years ago and enjoying it so when the published version came up in my recommended I decided to give it a go. Luckily young adult me is a lot more socially aware than young teenage me, the way the female characters are treated in this book (with the exception of Janie of course) is awful. Every girl including the minor female characters of the girlfriends are treated as disposable characters with their only feature being that they ...more

Confusing and intriguing
Kylie Hood is a quiet girl, who is trying to be invisible at school, but when circumstances bring Logan Grimm into her life, it’s turned upside down. “Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf” is an interesting, intense, and confusing tale that I had a hard time understanding what was going on. Your mind keeps asking the question, “Why?”, but I could not put it down. It felt like going to the movie 20 min late. I felt like I was trying to play catch-up. This tale has mean girls,

uhmmmmmm so i started off seriously loving this book. it had a lot of things i really enjoyed, like the main guy actively pursuing the main girl and some fake dating action with a fairly speedy resolution……..

but as i kept reading, there were some things i really, really couldn’t stand. like for one, it’s painfully clear to me now that not only do i just hate the name ryder, i also vehemently hate every character i’ve ever read named ryder. the whole thing with janie, logan and the god

Love the revision of the book... The story goes “there” and sure leaves one wanting more... I think these kids in general had to grow up too fast and I don’t see any real parental roles... everyone has a motive and not one person is genuine...Hood is your typical “content” female who will be stuck in a one side relationship from what I’m seeing and this Janie girl is like that cancerous female guys feel they need because she puts out! And no I am not feeling empathy for any of these characters w ...more

My first book from Janie and not going to lie that cover had me all kinds of curious.

Kylie and Logan have a story that took me some time to get into but so glad I stuck around because this was so intense. I liked getting to know the entire cast of characters. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

I hate it’s a trilogy and I now have to wait for the next book. BUT I freaking loved it! So my review might only make sense to people who have read Janie Marie’s other books Gods and Monsters set and Jane’s Team. So yeah read those awesome works of art too if you haven’t. So at first I was confused like I was reading something I should have read after something else. Then I thought it was another view from Jane’s Team. Then I remembered Jane, Ryder and multiple dimensions. It has lots of similar ...more

WAOTBBW is not a book for the faint of heart. A young adult (and by young adult I mean 17+ [based on rated MA movies being 17+], this is not a book for kids ya'll) is going to reading this completely differently from an adult. There is (or mentions of) violence, sex, regret, sexual violence, etc. This is certainly a book that you WILL have an opinion on. Kylie and Janie are two of the most divisive characters ever. The same goes for Logan and Ryder. If you read this book with friends, you may ju ...more

I love and hate this book there are so many bad guys in this twisted Fairy Tale its the kind of read you can't put down everything and everybody suck and poor Kylie is in the middle of a and f5 Hurricane called Janie the kind that distroys everything and shes just that kind of girl and no matter what she's been threw she bugs me theres something off about her like she would smile at you then literally stab you in the back and laugh about. Please save your time

This was the dumbest waste of time, the worst book I’ve ever read. And I’ve read a lot. I have never written a bad book review in my life. It’s just something about being entitled about an authors work. I’m also a firm believer of people having different preferences. Perhaps something I find unenjoyable can make someone’s day. Who am I to critique? And just because I find something that isn’t my cup of tea, doesn’t make it a bad book.

This is a bad book. And a bad series.

Logan is pile of shit... A shitload of diarrhea!

“Do you need help?”
Logan slowly turned his head and peered over his shoulder, narrowing his dark eyes at the pretty brunette wearing only a large T-shirt.
She toyed with the hem of her shirt. “Maybe I can make you breakfast, or get you some aspirin?”
Logan didn’t respond right away. His grip tightened on the edge of the counter when she tried to step closer. “Who the fuck said you could still be here in the morning?” He glared at her as he st

Didn’t like this book. Didn’t really feel the relationship between the MC & the Hero. Don’t know how many times the Hero compared the MC to his ex. Even called his ex “baby doll” while calling the MC “ Hoods” which was just her last name. Hero would probably choose his ex if it came down to his ex & the MC that he kept telling that he cared about her. I couldn’t even count the many times that Hero would call his ex “his world” while being in a relationship with the MC. He would even get sad/mad ...more

it was intriguing for sure.. but i couldn’t get into it. I think it was the dialogue and personality’s between the characters. I felt lost and confused at times. it mentions a trilogy before this new spinoff. What i struggle with most is how the main anti-hero likes the main protagonist but yet alway makes her feel second and puts janie his best friend first. Janie who happens to be his ex girlfriend. For me that was a big no-no. I know theres probably more to the story.. but i just couldn’t. It ...more

Let's start off with trigger warnings okay, there's mention of rape, self harm and assault in here so this is definitely for older teens.
The cliffhanger ending and the next book isn't out until December ahhh

If you like sexy smug boys this is great for you, there's some dark fairy tales here and while I haven't finished the G&M trilogy it's recommended you read it first. The characters can be a little frustrating and depending which trilogy you read first will determine if you like Kylie or Jan

Kylie and Logan are quite the pair. As a huge fan of Jane’s Team, it’s amazing to take a look at the world from a different perspective. I loved seeing Kylie grow out of her shell and become stronger and look forward to where this story is headed. The tales surrounding the Knights, Godsons, Wolves, and Grimms are going to be very interesting as they intersect and are woven into this tale. Janie Marie has captured me once again!

What a book! Janie has one of those rare talents. You get sucked into the book from the first page and you don't want to stop until you've read the very last page!

I love the world building and the relationships between the characters. Then there's also some mystery that leaves you with tones of question and wild guesses.

It's different and refreshing and an amazing read.

Makes me wish that I lived inside the book with all those hunky men!

I liked the tension that the author created in this story. It made the book interesting and exciting to read. The characters had a good presence on the page making them feel a bit larger than life. I thought this was a good story that clearly defined the characters as they navigate life’s struggles. I felt for her character as details of her life emerged.

I was sucked in from the beginning of this story even though I hadn't read the previous series from where this stems from. The characters are likable and have depth. They're not one-dimensional and the story has mystery and suspense and darkness that called to me at that moment. I just hate that I have to wait for the next book because now I am hooked. ...more

I’ll be honest the cover is what made me read this story, I have never read a Janie Marie books before but I’m gonna check out her other books.

I was really sucked into this story, the world and these characters were well written and had me falling for them.

I am looking forward to the next book.

“Grab some tissues, some snacks and get comfy my friends.

Alright so this book is not going to be easy to get through. You’re going to laugh, cry, scream and want to give up on it a few times but I PROMISE you it is worth it. Our Captain Queen Janie here has a way of making these worlds that are so captivating and gut wrenching all at the same time. I first read this book on Wattpad when I was going through some of the hardest times of my life.

I first read this story I don’t know how many years ago and I have to say it’s come a long way. Getting better every time I read it and I notice more and more little hidden details with every reread.

A young adult story about a girl dealing with abuse and finding her way in her first ever relationship in a town that’s shrouded in the fairytales of ages.

Kylie and Logan are real, as in they make mistakes and they argue and they learn. They had chemistry from the start. I never felt like I was rea

When I first saw the cover, I immediately thought of Little Red Riding Hood. The title also contributed. I applaud the illustrator because the cover is so gorgeous and represents Kylie perfectly.

I haven't read the Gods & Monsters Trilogy because I just discover the author. Thoses who have read the Trilogy will more easily understand certain things but for me, it is not important because I am at the same level as Kylie and discover everything like her.

The universe looks like ours at first glance

Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf will suck you in. Janie Marie’s writing is so intense and well written and full of little nuances that you’ll want to read it again and again to pick up everything!

Kylie is such an interesting main character because she is hidden away and abused but you see these glimpses of a truly jealous girl underneath the Hood. It’s also hard seeing her be mean to my girl, Jane!

Logan is such a well rounded bad boy because he has those bad ass vibes without being an a**hole

Not for me..

I read the suggestions that some of the previous characters will show up on this book except it wasn't just a small part but as the major characters. This book is a continuation of Jane book. The FMC on this is the second character as soon as the ex who the h was still in loved with showed up. The side mc female was weak, weak, cried a lot, accepts being abused by her steps mom and sister, and was boring. Why the check did the author wrote this series when it's all about the characte

This is by far one the most twisted and amazing books I have ever read. Janie will throw you into a world full of love, hate, myths and legends. You'll never want to leave this new world. Nothing is as it seems in this story. The characters are so relatable that you have to love them. You can see yourself in each and every character. Good and bad. Janie never fails to keep you wanting more. I would recommend this story to anyone who wants to get lost in a book or needs an escape. It really does ...more

Janie Marie is a wife and mother of three. She devotes her time to her family and her characters. She enjoys entertaining her readers by giving them glimpses of their favorite characters outside of the worlds she brought them to life in.

Her wish is simply that readers who manage to make it to the end of her stories take something away, and they keep it with them always.
