Harry and the Dinosaurs
Harry and the Dinosaurs at the Museum
Joining big sister Sam at the museum while she researches her human ancestors—the cave dwellers, the Egyptians, and the Romans—is pretty dull for an active boy and his even more active bucket of dinosaurs. After climbing display cases and sliding on slippery floors, Harry and the gang realize that they are lost. But when they find the Hall of Dinosaurs, Harry’s little pals are delighted to get acquainted with their ancestors.

Harry with his toy dinosaurs and his mother, grandmother and sister go to the museum. There he gets lost because he is too bored to stay in one place.
It is a nice little story, but as a parent I don't think I will ever find cute the fact that my 5-6 years old kid is lost in a big museum and he wasn't even worried that he lost his mammy.

This is the first book I've read about Harry and his Dinosaurs. I have to say, the writing itself is simple and engaging, and the pictures are nice. The kids enjoyed the story.
However, I'm not entirely sure what to take away from it. Some scenes did not connect very well (Harry is found by his family, then all of a sudden he's surrounded by strangers, until his family shows up again?), and the overall theme felt little so-so.
A mid-range childrens' book.

My son wanted to give this a lot more stars! He loves harry and his dinosaurs, this time they are all looking for ancestors at the museum.

My preschool absolutely love this story! Especially the page of all the dinosaurs at the end - can never choose who is their favourite dinosaur!

Harry loves dinosaurs and takes them with his family on a museum trip! Unfortunately the dinosaurs get bored and Harry gets lost. Plenty to talk about from this book, but it is also just a fun and happy story to share.

This book seemed really disjointed to me. There were some page turns where there seemed to be no continuance at all from one page to the next. I didn't really like the picture style, it seemed very TV cartoony. I also don't like not knowing for sure where those dinosaur toys were really alive or just in the boy's imagination.

In retrospect, it probably wasn't the best idea to read this to the class the day before we go on a visit to the Natural History Museum. Harry wanders off and gets lost. The repercussions? Loads of attention and praise. That's it.
Other than that, it was a bit "meh".

I’m glad to see this is a series, because the writing is simple enough. Harry and his bucket of dinosaurs are cute.
Harry does wander off without any sort of correction. This is an issue we’re currently dealing with, so at the very least a discussion starter.

Lovely story introducing lots of ideas to children about museums and ancestors. Could be linked with a PSHE lesson on getting lost.

A favorite of the boys', I must have read it 30 times in December.

So fun to read for storytime! Commit to doing lots of different voices and it'll be even more fun. 😉

Harry’s a bit of a brat in this one.

Maddie loved this, since dino camp at the museum is in a week.

Bucketfuls of fun at the museum as Harry traces human and dinosaur ancestry. With thanks to Harrison Foster.

3) This book is about a boy named Harry who loves his toy dinosaurs. He goes to the museum with his mother, grandmother and sister for his sister’s school project. He however, gets bored and ends up going to look for the real dinosaurs which is where his family find him.
4) I really like this book. I got it with a box of books from my cousin and when I read it I thought it was so sweet. It has a lot of specific words which is ok for kids who are interested in dinosaurs. The pictures are also really well drawn and very descriptive making it easy to tell the difference between the different dinosaurs.
5) This book can be used to try and get a child interested in reading. Sometimes all they need is to find the right book to get them interested and motivated. If the child loves dinosaurs, then they would have a really easy time relating to Harry. This book is also in a series which makes it great to keep encouraging reading. This book can also be used to teach the word ancestors as a new vocabulary word. The book uses it a lot and all throughout explaining that people have ancestors and so do dinosaurs. This book is a great way for the students to make a connection and begin to understand what this word means.

This is one of the Harry and the Dinosaurs series. In this one Harry takes the dinosaurs to the museum where they learn about ancestors - both human ancestors including Cavemen, Egyptians and Romans, and dinosaur ancestors in the form of giant skeletons.
This is a good book with a good story. This one is slightly harder particularly if your child doesn't really get history or death yet. we went through it slowly and spent time talking about the different cultures and when they lived and how they lived / my daughter liked the broken pots best!
I don't like the use of the word stupid in these books and I don't really like the way Harry gets lost in this story although of course it is for a good purpose.
Fun but not 5*.

Delightful story and pictures that include plenty of details for both young and adult readers! The main character, Harry, has his bucketful of dinosaur friends and decides to take them with him when his family goes to visit a museum. Family members explain some things in the museum to Harry, but the pictures alone are enough to help readers ask questions and figure out what it is that they are looking at. Harry ultimately does do several things wrong, and although he doesn't get reprimanded in the story, there are opportunities for adults reading the book to children in which they could talk about what Harry did wrong and what he did right in order to reach the happy ending. Recommended for all ages to anyone interested in museums, dinosaurs, children's books, and family stories.

This is one of the Harry and the Dinosaurs series. I loves the interaction between Harry and his dinosaurs. Though it does have a variety of dinosaur types and how to pronounce them, this is not a book to learn about dinosaurs, or museums for that matter. It is however, a fun picture book for all those kids who can't seem to get enough of dinosaurs. Ages 4-8

Harry with his basin-headed haircut takes his bucketful of dinosaurs to a museum, spurns ancient history for palᴂontology, gets lost and found, and impresses all and sundry by remembering his own name.

a cute and simple dinosaur story. I upped my review to five stars because 3yo keeps coming back to it. It has an older sister like he has, and the dinosaurs interest him. Hubby would complain about the lack of father.

Caroline wanted something new last night, so I had to dig around in Hugh's old books to find something she hadn't read. Hugh loved Harry and his bucket full of dinosaurs when he was little! Caroline wasn't quite as enthused, but it still earned a chuckle or two.

There are some books that children love and that remain a delight to read aloud even when requested everyday for two years. I'm thinking of Peepo, Knuffle Bunny or Dear Zoo.
Harry and his dinosaurs, on the other hand, get tedious quite quickly.

This is the second book of the Harry & the Dinosaurs series that we have read, and we enjoyed this one as much as the first book. I highly recommend it for young boys who enjoy dinosaurs.

Perfect for my 4 year old, who is as crazy about dinosaurs as Harry & has an older sister, who at times acts like Sam, Harry's older all-knowing eye-rolling sibling
