The author is my creative writing teacher, and if I hadn't been forced to read it in order to pass a test, I would have thrown it out the window not even a quarter of the way through. The repetition and seeming lack of any short term memory on the part of any of the characters was bad enough...

BUT IF I READ ONE MORE LINE WHERE THE CHARACTERS TALK VAPIDLY TO THEMSELVES FOR NO DAMN GOOD REASON I'M GUNNA SCREAM!!

I read this book in one sitting, even though it took me all night and into the next day. This is a story of triumph over adversity and I'm glad to have picked it up again years after purchasing it. The beginning is a little slow, but it's worth taking the time to get into.
