Three words the men of the Sinners MC live by. Three virtues they have sworn to defend. No matter what the cost.
Meet the intense and sexy men of the Sinners MC in Maggie and Gunner’s story where revenge isn’t the only sweet victory.
He shouldn’t want her.
Maggie O’Brien has the ability to destroy him and his plan for revenge on his club’s biggest threat.
But he’s craved her almost as long as his retaliation, and nothing will stop him from getting everything he’s always wanted.
Not even the man he fears she really loves.
She doesn’t trust him.
Ryker Evans, a.k.a. Gunner, has the ability to change that with his kind words and soft touches.
But she decided when she sacrificed herself to save another that she would never give someone the power to break her again and that kindness comes at a price.
A price she is no longer willing to pay.
In a world filled with lies and secrets where freedom is fleeting, can they learn to love each other enough to survive?
Or will the cost of revenge be too high?
This is the first book in the series. Can be read as a standalone.

2 "I don't believe in promises." Stars
This was a book that started with a very promising and intriguing story line but the execution didn't leave me connected to the engaged to the characters. The heroines back story was a highlight. Her life was thrown to the wolves for the most part when she was a teenager and never got on track until a brave decision to free herself. I loved the commendations she received for her courage in making her life better however I never saw her as more than her tragedy. Her growth felt dependent on the MC and the hero who wanted her and I wanted so much more for her in terms of development. She was made as a naive, wilting flower which is fine when the development works but I just didn't think she ever grew into something more. Likewise, the hero had an interesting backstory too but he was over-alpha'ed, if you will, and the club stuff took over where I felt he could of perpetuated some growth. The Sinners MC is a bit misleading as their sinners looking for wholesome redemption in brotherhood and camaraderie. The MC portions get gritty but not overly dark at all. The secondary characters lent interesting breaks to this slow burn romance story of overcoming. Sweet Revenge was told from dual points of view and I did enjoy getting each perspective as it kept the book moving at a good pace.
I've never read an MC romance—I've started a couple but have never been able to finish them—but when I saw this on NetGalley I thought I'd give it a try. Unfortunately, I won't be finishing this one either. There was so much exposition in the first few chapters that I couldn't connect to the story. The main character is just so tragic. And I feel like it will turn into one of those stories where every single other character is 100% dedicated to protecting the helpless and fragile heroine, and I don't like that. It's just too precious. I guess MC romances aren't for me.
Sweet Revenge is one of the least gritty and crude MC romances I’ve read. And I was totally okay with that. It didn’t stop me from enjoying this. The storytelling in this story is good, and it kept me interested.
Gunner is the VP of the Sinners MC. Maggie is who he’s had his eye on for quite some time, but she belonged to someone else. An evil someone. But Gunner was patient, he was protective, and he was determined to do things the right way. Eventually, things would be the way they were supposed to be.
The romance between Gunner & Maggie was the main focus of this book. Maggie’s hard childhood, her survival, healing, and strength was forefront, with the club and its business more in the background. Which worked for me.
It’s my understanding that there are characters in this story who were previously introduced in other books by this author. Would I have benefitted and enjoyed this one more had I read the others? Perhaps. There were connections between certain characters that were made before this book. But I don’t believe it confused me by any means.
This was my first read from Jennifer Hanks and I would definitely consider reading more. There’s a nice, little set up for the next book, which I will say, I’m interested in reading.
Sweet Revenge by Jennifer Hanks is bone chilling good!
I’m talking the kind of good that keeps you on your toes and settles into your soul.
Hanks weaves a masterful tale of romantic suspense like no other.
She gives us characters like Maggie and Gunner who have both faced devastating tragedies and come through on the other side.
“It almost felt like I was letting my foot slowly off the brake in my life too.”
This is one book you will be so completely invested in, that you’ll want to stay up all night reading it. Then you’ll be wanting to message Jennifer begging for more!
A true raw, gritty, fell it in your soul, incredible read!
I am sorry but this just was tooo heartbreaking for me to continue and I had read some reviews that mention that there is a cliffhanger I hate those. Even though I have read some pretty tough books and with triggers I just couldn't..

This much anticipated story about Maggie has finally been released and it did not disappoint! I absolutely loved this one! Maggie and Gunner are perfect for each other.
I loved this book! A new series, but you still get a glimpse into the Dimarco family, you get a little from the Elite Securities too. It's the best of all 3 worlds. Gunner is a tough but caring VP of a MC and he sees a girl from a far one day and feels an instant connection. We've met Maggie in other books, it's great to finally get her story. The way Gunner is with her was so beautiful it sometimes brought me to happy tears. I love Jennifer's take on the MC world. Not all bikers are horrible people and yes there are some in this book, but she concentrates on the good guys. It was great to watch Maggie grow throughout the book as well. You really were proud of her by the end. I can't wait for more of the Sinners world!
Sweet Revenge by Jennifer Hanks is a gritty and raw book. There is a lot of language and a code characters within the book live by. The book itself has a solid story line. While a stand alone novel, some of the characters within the story had obviously had novels about themselves, so if you don't read the previous ones, it is similar to jumping in and finding your feet. You can do it, but you have to piece things together.
I really like how Hanks wrote to give Maggie her own voice. Though a victim, Maggie is given the chance to heal, make a life for herself and more importantly make her own decisions.
**This book contains triggers: sexual assault, violence, abuse, etc.

I've been waiting to sit down and start this series and boy did it deliver. I was so excited to see what more would life throw at Maggie. That girl has so much bad things happen to her and if anyone deserved something better in life it was her.
That is why I was so glad to see Gunner being the man he was. He was so patient with her and just wanted to love her how she deserved to be love. My heart was so happy when she finally started to put her walls down, which was not an easy task and started to let him in slowly. I liked the way she stepped up when he needed help and gave him what he needed at time. And I absolutely love this club which is filled with upstanding men and woman (Becs) trying their best to save and protect those in need of that.
I'm starting Bear's book next and I'm so excited to see if they'll be able to put the enemies down once and for all.

This is my first book from this author and it won’t be my last! This book has all of the elements I enjoy in a romance novel. Gunner is the VP of the Sinners MC. I’m not a big MC readers, but this is the story of an MC that is cleaning up and legalizing their club but there are still some rivalries that Sinners MC is drawn into this. Gunner has had his eye on Maggie for some time. Maggie “belongs” to a particularly brutal member of the Sinners MC rival club The Widows. There are so many twists and turns and I couldn’t put this book down. The characters are carefully crafted to not be too much of alpha or too much the victim. Absolutely a 10 star read. I immediately downloaded the next book in the series.
I loved the hero and heroine in this book. They both come from traumatic pasts, and the heroine's story is truly sad. But I love the way he brings out her courage and helps her realize that life can be good, just by being there for her. I really enjoyed this book. It will definitely be a reread, and I am very much looking forward to the next one in the series.
Loved finally getting Maggie’s story , I lived watching her grow from the woman who didn’t want to live to finding a reason to live, and not just because of a man, but finding reasons herself, great read.
This was my first book by this author, and I am completely hooked. I need to read all of her books. This is written in first person from a dual POV. Gunner is a protective MC VP and he falls for Maggie at fist sight. But she is with the enemy. Maggie is trapped in a violent relationship. She makes some decisions that lead her to the rival MC and into Gunner’s life. Gunner has secrets and a violent past but is trying to live life on the right side of the law. Maggie has experienced physical and emotional trauma and needs to heal. I loved how patient Gunner was with Maggie. I love how protective he was of her. I loved how he encouraged her to find her voice and her confidence. I loved how safe Maggie felt with him and how that allowed her to grow. There is seriously so much I loved about this book! Steam, danger, right vs. wrong, gray areas, brotherhood of the MC, and so much more made this a book I could not put down. I was invested in the characters. The pacing was on point. I NEED to read more of this series and the ones before it. I highly recommend this one. (Readers may need to know that Maggie suffers physical, sexual, and emotional abuse at the hands of her ex before she gets away and these situations might be triggers for some.) #MCClub #romanticsuspense #actionanadadventureromance #healingromance
I love reading MC romances and Sweet Revenge hit the mark for me. It had all the elements I'm looking for in this type of story: intrigue, suspense and jaded but loyal to a fault characters. It was raw and gritty and kept me reading well into the night. Maggie and Gunner together melted my heart. She's been through a lot of bad situations and doesn't trust easily but Gunner will do anything to protect Maggie and show her that there are still good men out there. I loved how the characters were presented, they all have depth and were relatable. Revenge, secrets, and enemies may stand in their way to happiness but when you have love, brotherhood, and honor everything can be overcome. This story will pull at your heartstrings. I recommend it!
Sweet Revenge is book one of Jennifer Hanks new series Sinners MC. Who better to start the series than Maggie O'Brien? For those that have read the DiMarco series, we've met Maggie before. Luke DiMarco has tried again and again to help her escape the clutches of Snake and the Black Widows MC but she's never accepted the help. She's accepted there's no way out. Fate changes that when Maggie hears information that puts innocent people in danger and she knows she can't keep quiet. She finally escapes the MCand now she's at the doorstep of the Black Widows' nemesis, the Sinners MC. The Sinners know who she is and who she belongs to. What they don't know is her end goal for showing up at their clubhouse. Gunner is the Sinners VP and has had his eye on Maggie for a long time. Now he's out to protect her at all costs and remind her that not all men are bad and not everyone has ulterior motives. Except Gunner has secrets of his own that could take everything that matters to him away in the blink of an eye. I'm super excited to finally delve into the Sinners MC! They have frequented the DiMarco stories and I couldn't help but be curious what their stories were. Gunner and Maggie's story set a great tone for what's to happen and I can't wait. Jennifer Hanks wasted no time teasing us with all the possible stories this series could offer. I was happy to see my favorite patriarch, Jack, make an appearance and share his wisdom. We all need a Jack in our lives! Sweet Revenge was suspenseful and slipped into some dark areas. It needed to. Maggie's story has always been a rough one. To make this a light story would be a disservice to her and to the Sinners. Then there's that ending!!! More drama is on its way and I can't wait!
This book can totally be read as a standalone however I recommend The Dimarco Series to you fellow readers, as well as it being a fantastic series in its own right it’s also where we’re first introduced to the Sinners MC and the strong, sexy alphas who form it.
Ryker a.k.a Gunner is the Vice President of the Sinners MC, he’s brooding, intense and very much in love with Maggie, the young woman who’s under the MC’s protection after coming to them with some vital information which could help them with their retaliation on the club’s biggest threat which also happens to have an even more personal meaning for both Maggie and Gunner himself. When Maggie first approached the Sinners MC she thought she was trading one prison for another, one that she hoped was the lesser of two evils yet over time this this loyal band of brothers proved to her that they will do anything when it comes to protecting their own and those they love and consider to be family, which is exactly what Maggie has become to them, especially one man in particular, Gunner, the man who knew her before she even knew herself, he’d noticed her a while back and now the time has come to make her his in every way. Can their blossoming love survive the cost of revenge? Or are they doomed before they’ve even had the chance to begin? Read Sweet Revenge to find out, honestly you won’t be disappointed with this, the first book from Ms Hanks new series.
An amazing five star book which you won’t just read, you’ll live it.
This book is Jennifer's best yet. I cant Express how much I love this author and her books. This was beautifully written. Breathtaking. You get to go on one amazing journey about Bravery, loyalty, honour. To many feeling you feel in this book. I shed so many tears over this book. It was emotional to read. At times I had to pause and take a breath the words on the pages were blurring. Jennifer broke my heart with this book. Please have tissues handy.
Maggie has been dealt a hard life. She's gone through so much in 10 years. More than any woman should go through. Reading what she goes through has me crying. Maggie is so brave what she did helped save some innocent people.
Gunner is one amazing strong guy he is the VP of his mc club the sinners. What he puts himself through to keep maggie safe Showed what true love means and his loyalty to maggie is beautiful. This was one phenomenal book I shed so many tears for maggie. There is war going on between the black widows and sinners. Thanks Jennifer for this wonderful book. Cant wait for the next one. I highly recommend this book.
Maggie has been beaten down literally by Snake who was the Prez of the Black Widows MC. Gunner had kept an eye on Maggie since the first time he saw her with Snake. He knew that there was something special about this lady but he had no idea the life she had been living with Snake. Gunner was the VP of the Sinners MC and had kept a huge secret from his club since he joined up with his best friend Bear who was the club president. They together wanted to bring the Sinners out of the past they had led and turn into something more honorable…more about family and brotherhood.
Both Maggie and Gunner had an incredibly tough life growing up and now Gunner wanted to be the one to save Maggie from the torturous life she had lived. There are so many obstacles in their way it seemed impossible but these two somehow were trying to make it work. The Black Widows MC mother chapter wanted in on the plan to bring not only Maggie down but take Gunner down as well. You’ll have to read to see what the surprising connections all were. And let me tell you they made your mouth drop. So worth the read. Now I can’t wait for End Game to come out!!
Gunner and Maggie have the spot light in this book and their story is incredible. So much loss and wasted time. The men of this MC are all alpha and their loyalty is what makes them. Excellent writing with a fabulous storyline.
~~~~~~~~~~Tracy's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~
This book blew me away! Maggie and Gunner both have pasts that would bring you to tears and together they try to navigate trusting each other and those around them. I loved how this story centers on the family aspect around them, even when faced with danger they seem to pull together as one to save each other. Great characters and I can't wait for Bear and Josie's story next. Highly recommended.
This was an awesome start to a MC series. Loved Gunner and Maggie. Maggie was actually a very strong female considering her beginning. Really enjoyed the storyline and supporting characters. Can't wait for Bear's book and maybe a woman named Josie. This book had angst, sexy alpha male bikers and a glowing storyline. I recommend this book. Thanks Jamie Nibarger Ellis
3.5 stars This is the first book I've read by this author and it was an enjoyable read. I feel like it's just not quite there though. Something is missing but I'm not sure what. I liked the characters well enough but I wanted more.
Brief Synopsis: Maggie is trying to escape her abusive boyfriend who is the VP of a MC. Her only hope is to go to the other MC in town and rat him out. Now, she is hiding with the other MS (the Sinners) trying not to fall for the man who saved her, Gunner.
Review: I do not even know what to say....this book was heartbreaking but beautiful. This is the first book that I have read from this author and now I will be reading every book she has written.
Maggie had a ROUGH life. She was hard to read about: her past, what Snake did to her, her willingness to sacrifice herself for others...she overcame a lot. I appreciate that author did not just "fix her" the minute Maggie got out of the abusive relationship. It took time to get over it. She slowly got better each day. She did not rush it, it was very real. Jennifer Hanks did a beautiful job writing her.
Gah! Gunner is my new book boyfriend! He is hard and rough but so patient and caring. He has loved Maggie from a far for years and would do whatever he could to protect her. He waited and walked on egg shells around her, so he would not scare her or scar her anymore. He knew what she needed. He was so kind towards her and always thought of her first.
This is the first MC book that I have read, and I really enjoyed it. It had the perfect amount of MC drama and dynamics that it didn't take away from the story. Maggie and Gunner's story was beautiful. They really took their time to get to know one another and understand their feelings before jumping into anything. The author did a great job explaining the emotions that Maggie was going through and how Gunner made her feel different and how he was different. I am glad this story was in dual POV, made it so much better.
It’s been a while since I’ve read an MC book and I had forgotten how much I like them! Sweet Revenge was a good book for me to get back into the MC world! Maggie has lived a horrendous life, losing her mum at young age, being alone, then being with a man like snake. The opening paragraphs broke my heart but I loved then seeing her grow, become less naive, more confident and begin to get back some of her confidence. Gunner was very sweet and patient with Maggie, he truly loved her and knew exactly what she needed and didn’t ever push her. I did get a little giddy as their relationship developed. He was the ultimate alpha me, but never with Maggie. With her he was kind, gentle and loving. As far as MC books go, Sweet Revenge wasn’t overly dark. There was your expected MC club drama and trouble as well as some gritty scenes but none too dark. I didn’t mind this because for me the real story was about Maggie. How she was a broken woman who thought she deserved the pain and the horror she loved through to grow stronger and learn her worth and learn how it felt to be loved and cherished.
This was my first book by this author in addition to being my first motorcycle club book. I think I should have started with a different one. I have found the MC trope isn't one of my favorites. I have been assured by fellow readers that her other books aren't as dark. I will definitely try her other series. I'm not giving up on her because the back of the book was really good. Back to this one. I almost stopped reading in the early parts of it. If you can make it to around 20% then should be good. After that it was actually a very good book. If the beginning hadn't been so dark I would have rated it higher. There is a cliffhanger of sorts at the end to lead up to the next book. There are some triggers. Not super detailed ones, but they are there. I would think if you have issues with triggers then you would know to avoid MC books.
I enjoy MC books and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the premise of this particular one. From the very first page I was drawn in by Maggie's harrowing tale and the involvement of the Sinners. Gunner was such a mystery at first, but I quickly realized how huge his heart was. I hadn't had the pleasure of reading Ms. Hanks before and was a bit overwhelmed at all the details and crossover of characters from her other series. You know what? It just made me want to read everything! I love her writing style, the fast paced action, the steam, the character development, all of it. I'm excited to read more of the Dimarco family, Elite Securities and more about the Sinners.
I would’ve never thought I’d read a motorcycle club book but I’ve read all of Jennifer Hanks books and have absolutely loved them so I thought I’d give this one a shot. Man oh man did I love this book! I’d met Maggie in a previous book and that girl needed a happy ending....then along comes Gunner! With some twists and turns and things didn’t see coming this book didn’t get put down until it was finished! I’m looking forward to Bears story then hopefully Race and Becs!
I loved the hero and heroine in this book. They both come from traumatic pasts, and the heroine's story is truly sad. But I love the way he brings out her courage and helps her realize that life can be good, just by being there for her. I really enjoyed this book.
