A well-crafted murder mystery thriller with perfect pacing...
The Big Fall by Tim Smith is a superbly written and richly descriptive novel with brilliantly drawn characters and settings. The threads of storytelling are expertly woven in this murder mystery thriller that will guarantee the attention of the reader. There are plenty of engaging moments in this page-turner that will take the reader on a gripping journey. The story unfurls in small acts, at first feeling slight to touch, then building in emotional substance. Into the spaces between the words, the author breathes a pulsating intensity that rolls like a motion picture camera.

I enjoyed the story, character development, and dialogue. There were plenty of plot twists that I didn’t see coming and that added to the book’s mystique. When I stopped reading to work, I found myself wondering what happened in the book, and replaying parts of the novel in my head to see if I could figure more out. It has been a while since I enjoyed a book this much. It’s a first-class mystery thriller with perfect pacing. Not much is as it appears here, which is just the way fans of mystery, thriller and suspense will want it.
The Big Fall (Nick Seven Book 7) had every element a good story should have. An intriguing plot, attention to detail, but best of all fleshed out, well-written and well-rounded character development. There’s an abundance of well-illustrated scenes that make you feel like you are right there in the story, and that’s something I look for in a good book. It’s one of those stories that come along once in a while that makes you want to read it non-stop until you get to the end. I’m giving nothing further away here. And this, I hope, will only add to the mystery and enjoyment for the reader!
I’ll be looking forward to reading more from Tim Smith in the future. I would highly recommend this book to all fans of mystery, thriller and suspense. A well-deserved five stars from me.

However, things take a turn for the worst when Nick meets his socialite ex who's hellbent on vengeance and they have a public altercation. It doesn't help matters that she's killed shortly after.
When police and everyone is intent on pinning Nick for this murder, he has to get back to action to not only clear his name, but to retain his angel by his side. So what happens? Who is the murderer?

Probably the best Nick Seven book I've read.
I have thoroughly enjoyed all six of the previous Nick Seven mystery thrillers and I think this is the best. He is cool under pressure, totally kick butt when he needs to, and add savvy ad they come. The erotic screnes are really hot stuff. Tim Smith is a great author.

This is a murder mystery that is unique and complex on every page. Its not only a gripping thriller that has perfect pacing and staging, it also has multi-layered characters that linger with you. It is an unforgettable story that will have you wanting to read more and more until the book is finished and the last word read!
The story starts in engaging moments and then intensifies as the story builds in emotional substance, one page and one chapter at a time. Between the words and scenes there is a pulsating intensity that makes the story memorable and feverish.
The story is about Nick and Felicia. They are former spies and decide to take a break from their ordinary lives to head to a casino for some rest and respite. However, their break is laced with unexpected events and even murder. Who would have thought that things would become intense so quickly?
This story shows how past loves can become hatreds to the point where one is willing to allow their feelings of vengeance to get the best of them to the point where unfathomable things happen within a matter of minutes. It made me reflect on the nature of past relationships and how once they are over, a person’s worse and most dangerous emotions come to the fore.
This story also has an intriguing plot and plot twists, giving the story an allure, which will stick with you long after you have finished reading it. It made me wonder how people who loved each other so deeply just a while ago can end up hating each other so deeply that they would want to kill each other.
I loved the story, and I will be re-reading it soon. The characters were unforgettable, setting up a tapestry of intensity and poise. Even the characters will linger with you just like a fine wine. A fascinating read from beginning to end!
