This book, like way to many on my shelves, sat unread after I picked it up a few years ago. Upon retiring from IT work I thought I would never get through it. SQL is far from my favorite programming language, and only the insane would play with it. But never say never, my retirement ended about the same time COVID-19 started. I secured a part time SQL heavy job so I picked up Effective SQL again for the same reason I bought it in the first place. This is an excellent no fluff, wonderfully typeset, brief SQL book. I’ve used SQL on and off for twenty years but I still found things to learn here. If you SQL do yourself a favor and read this book.
