I fear the author has some self-esteem issues. The protagonist, Shaun, is an obese man who just happens to be an expert at kickboxing, (is that still a thing?). Shaun takes no personal responsibility for the shit show his life has become. He literally asks his doctor for a magic wand to fix things.
The first free woman he meets "in-game," treats him like shit. She continually calls him stupid/liar/asshole even after he agrees to help her take on a life-threatening task... even after he saves her life twice. It's nothing but constant denigration, so naturally, he falls in love with her. I'm out.

Really enjoyed the book and where the author took the main character and his support cast. The ending hook was well done and really sets the stage to something that could be epic.

Kinda meh
Storyline is predictable, dialogue robotic and methodical, relationships dull and boring. Despite that I actually read the entire book - don’t know why. I feel like you ripped emotions out of the characters and thus, myself - the reader, am unable to feel anything about these characters. When they revealed the traumatic back stories - all I thought was: “meh”
It was like reading a history book - only there wasn’t really anything worthwhile happening. No treachery or betrayals, no motive driven villains, no ingenious tactics, no romantic/ heart wrenching love, no plot twists(except at the end where I had to literally roll my eyes because it was so obviously a Segway into the second book - completely random with no build up whatsoever), and the worst sin of all: if you’re not good at writing plot, why didn’t you at the very least abuse the 18+ aspect and add some hot steamy love scenes. Gosh darn.
I’m sure it gets better in the second book - only I’m not gonna read it. Why? Because there’s nothing keeping me here. As the first book of the series, it failed to hook and reel me in and I was patient enough to read the entire thing. It was too devoid of emotions.
Review summed up in one word: Yikes.

Great.
The story is really fast paced but isn’t as jarring as it seemed it should be for that pace. The scenarios make sense and the transitions are well done.
The two main characters lead me back and forth in my like/dislike for them. Dialogue between them can feel really off, but somehow eventually it all works out.
The ending I can see being controversial for a lot of people but I personally loved it. It jumped straight into my favorite sub genre of LitRPG.
Picking the second up immediately and I can see this series become one of my favorites.

Solid 5 stars
Straight up, this author rocks. The character are well defined, the plot moves quickly and it has a bizarre twist at the end that either sets us up with a wildly different kind of sequel or will crash and burn. It was a risky ending but so far I'm impressed enough that I'm convinced the author will pull it off.

Awesome book
Definitely a must-read for any litrpg fans this is a really well-written story with lots of unexpected twists and turns definitely one of my favorite stories of 2020 a definite surprise ending indefinitely going to read all the books in this series and probably purchase them too cuz it's that good

Good book
While the book is short and a bit simplistic it has a decent story and I'm hopeing it gets better in the next book, the humor was the best for me even if the love story was overly simple and sappy. Anyway sounds like a bad review but I did like it and want to read more.

Very good
A great read that is well paced and full of action, battles and funny moments with plenty of snark. A great twist at the end as well.

Surprisingly good
I hopped into the book thinking "Ah your standard wish fulfillment story now with litrpg flavor" but it turned out to be better than that, it definitely is but it's not just that thankfully. I found it to be rather enjoyable and I'll be binging the series for the rest of the month.

Condition Evolution is a fun and action-packed adventure. While not a literary masterpiece, it provides an enjoyable and light read. With vivid descriptions, intense action, and a whole lot of humour, it immerses readers in an epic fantasy world. Be warned of profanity and violence. Overall, it's a thrilling escape into a hero's journey.

Short but sweet, a fun entry in to the Litrpg genre. The Main Character is not all powerful and bumbles along from chapter to chapter, seeming to succeed by luck more than skill. A refreshing change

Pretty Good
This story of a fat dude going into a game world for a year to get over his food addiction was a great concept. My problem is that the guy was a ex kickboxer champion and supposedly a gamer and had no clue nor competitive spirit. Other than that great story.

I loved this story.
It's one of the few LitRPG I've read that had such a satisfying ending. Shaun's a bufoon and I loved him!
Will definitely pick the second one!

Surprising ending!
I was a little iffy about this book but it was a quick read and I ended up liking the characters. Especially as I used to be fat I get like I identified with him somewhat. The quests did seem to come pretty easily though … as did the levels. But that wasn’t the main story apparently which was a surprise at the end. I’ll have to read the next book about that.

Interesting story, enjoyable and quite simple. Altough I have to say that the female heroine wasn't lovable there is an understanding of her behaviour as well as MC 'aloofness' regarding his situation.

I didn't read the author bio before the book so........
The female character flips from psycho wench to sweet at the drop of a hat and for no apparent reason. The male MC goes from spineless simp to 80s action hero and back just as fast, and just as often. The grammar and spelling kept asking off, as did the flip from vulgar insults to painfully stilted "niceness". then about half way through the book, there was a page of distinctly British obscenity.
Realizing that the author is British didn't make the story any better, but it at least helped clarify the oddities and some of the obscure jokes. I gave it a bump up from 2 to 3 stars, just to offset any misunderstanding on my part of the cultural differences. Otherwise, its a rather crap book.

Entertaining
In need of some minor editorial work, a riveting read, of action and adventure with some down to earth characters, no urbane lists of stats contributing to the word count or harem, its not needed the yarn stands by itself,a new take on the old/new boys or girls own adventure, good reading dollar value.

A thoroughly enjoyable read from start to finish. Non-stop action with plenty of whit and sarcasm from the two main characters as they battle to overcome challenges in a new world while tackling their own demons. Exciting adventure and it is definitely a page turner with an ending leaving you wanting more. Can’t wait for the next one.

Mistakes: I didn’t find any editing mistakes, but the story was very hard for me to read.
Plot: A man with an eating disorder goes into a video game to recondition himself and lose weight. Oh and there are aliens at the end.
Characters: Nope, just nope. The two characters are highly unbelievable. Neither of them act at all rational.

Forced joviality
Where two characters are having a conversation that feels unnatural. Made worse by a lack of physical moments; it’s like a radio transcript. Nobody smirks, or waves, or shrugs. Pages of overwrought conversations and self-deprecating language.
The concept is neat. But the execution needs work.

Fast quick read
Not a bad book for an indie author. Funny story, decent plot. Only issue is slang. I think it’s British but not sure as some of the slang used was hard to understand. At least he wasn’t getting a cheeky nandos.

I’ve read both the original release and the update. The update (new cover not black and white cover) is cleaned up well with better grammar, pacing, and details. Condition Evoultion is great. The MC was especially relatable and the humor was on point just as much as the action.
