Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was fantabulous. Although a late review, but I loved it.

It was a quick romance. The plot was short and sweet, the characters had tons of chemistry, the side characters were awesome, and the overall novel was fun.

I hope I can read more by this author, soon.

Until the next read,

5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It made me so happy to have an MMA book that was completely safe! So often any sports stories are based on less than stellar heroes. This story was safe and sweet!

HERO Slade was a great balance of OTT alpha and sweetness. Annie crashed into his life (quite literally) and nothing was the same for him. He loved completely.

HEROINE Annie was so adorable. She came from a small farm in Wisconsin. She didn’t have many life experiences so she was a breath of fresh air for Slade and his family.

OW/OM DRAMA No drama from ex’s at all. It was so refreshing

STEAM while there was some steam, I wouldn’t consider it overly steamy

SEPARATION no separation

SECONDARY CHARACTERS great family as secondary characters. I hope they get safe stories too! They were all well behaved in this story

VIOLENCEno violence of a sexual nature

SAFETY safe! No others after meeting!

ENDING epilogues 5 months and then 5 years later!

This was a great start to a new series about a family of fighters. I loved the hero and heroine in this book. It was entirely safe and I was fond of each family member.

I must say I think this is my favorite book to date from my May Gordon collection.

I highly recommend it...now I need to find out when the second book will be released.

Amazon / Amazon CA / Amazon AU / Amazon UK

One run-in (literally) and this couple's insta-love was set in stone. Annie's not from around here, and Slade can tell, but he doesn't care. Annie's his angel and he means to keep her.

For what it is, (insta-love with not much else) this is a likable story. I wanted a bit more from it - more steam, and more character and relationship development, but it was generally enjoyable. So why 3 and not 4 stars? There was far, far too much telling, not showing. I felt as if most of it was exposition with the author telling me what happened, rather than allowing the characters to show me.

ARC via HEA PR for an honest review.

What an amazing quick read this was. This is book one in the Saxon Family series. I’m very excited about this series. Each individual family member has their own drama going on. Slade is a former MMA fighter now running the family gym while coaching his brother. Annie just lost her grandmother and is new to town. This was definitely instant love. As soon as Annie came to town she had a room at Slades house and a place in his heart. I’m definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I do love insta love. This was a fairly quick read but really good. I would of liked there to have been a bit more happening but it didn't take anything away from the story. Characters are lovely, looking forward to more on them. Nice easy read

The first book in the Saxon Family series is fast paced and captivates you immediately with the insta love between Slade and Annie. Their story is sweet, romantic, passionate and just enough heat to warm your toes. An introduction to the other family members also has you intrigued and ready for more. An enchanting love story told from the heart.

Enjoyed

This was a really good read—it had enough story to keep me interested while also packing in some heat for the swoon!

I especially loved the heroine and her sweetness and innocence, the contrast to the hero and his toughness and alpha dominance. She was gentle and had a small town wholesomeness to her that was a cleansing balm to the hero’s exposure to the dirt and grime of life. And her cluelessness to who he was—an mma celebrity—had me all the feelz.

Best line from the book: “ As I watch her, my inner caveman springs forth, wanting to repeat this visual for at least the next decade. Only she’s barefoot and pregnant.” *HAPPY SIGH*

I don’t remember if the hero’s past is mentioned (I read this a few days ago and what stands out most to me, days later, was the sunshiny sweetness of the heroine!) but he didn’t come off as a manwhore. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to the hero. No ow/om drama. No abuse or cheating. HEA with epilogue

This was my first book by May Gordon and I was pleasantly surprised! I loved both Slade and Annie and how their relationship grew throughout the book. The only reason that I feel like I gave this book 3.5 stars is that I feel like the story was missing some more details. ⁣

Annie is a country girl who just moved to Florida and really hasn’t ventured out into the world. Her grandmother just passed away and she decided to fulfill her grandmother’s dream. While exploring her new town she runs into Slade Saxon, who is a celebrity in the boxing world unknown to Annie. Sparks fly between these two right off the bat but something is brewing from Slade’s past that could put Annie in the line of fire! ⁣
♦️⁣
I really enjoyed watching Annie become her own person and really open up. There was definitely some action throughout this book and I can’t wait to see what happens to the rest of the Saxon’s family!

Anne is visiting Jacksonville to see an art exhibit in honor of her grandmother’s final wish. Not yet ready to say goodbye to her, Annie takes a few days to tour the city. She literally runs into Slade, a retired fighting champion. The Saxon name is fighting royalty in Jacksonville. Done with fighting Slade now runs their family gym with his dad while helping his younger brother train for his fight. He also has a brother just out of the service and a baby sister. Instantly smitten with Annie he takes her out, when he finds out she’s staying at a low end motel, he gets her things and moves her into his house. They are sweet together and she gets along well with his family, bonding with his sister immediately. Trouble comes to them when an opponent Slade has beaten three times threatens everything Slade hold dear. Victor has not handled being defeated well, he drinks excessively and takes steroids. He attacks the gym and then kidnaps Annie. His terms, Slade must fight him, no rules. With the help of his brothers they rescue Annie and Slade beats Victor. Cute epilogues, at five months with Annie pregnant and them married and five years with another baby.
I loved how sweet the two were to each other.

His finger traces my jawline, love in his gaze, as he says, "I love you so fucking much. You're my heart, my home, and my sanctuary."

3.5* Review

An great start to a new series. The Saxon family are sure to bring us some really good stories. As we dive into the world of the MMA

Shy Annie has come to town to honour a promise she made to her grandmother to go and see the ‘The Blue Horses’ new to a large town and although finding it exciting it is scary as well a chance meeting with Slade and the ex MMA star she finds herself being taken under his wing and into world of big burly fighters.

Slade and his family are a tight knit all in the fighting business and own a gym where the manager up and coming stars. From the first moment he bumps into Anne he instinctively wants to look after her. What Slade didn’t want was for Anne to get caught up in a war with another fighter who he beat before he retired.

But what we want and what we get is to different things and it may be difficult for Anne to be kept out of what is about to come.

The Saxon brother all have hard exteriors but if Slade is anything to go by when they find the one for them they turn into little pussy cats!

Slade's Sanctuary is one of those stories that straight up made me happy to experience.  May Gordon is a new to me author, and I'm super excited to read more by her in the near future.  I'm conflicted when it comes to insta love books, as some don't work for me, while others (like this story) absolutely do.  It's a short(ish) read that packs one hell of a MMA punch.  Slade is part of the Saxon family, and a world class MMA fighter who has retired to run the family gym. Annie is a shy girl who comes to town because of a promise she made to her grandmother.  When they meet, ALL ABOARD!  There's even a tad bit of suspense thrown in for good measure.  So yeah, I wanted more, and I believe you'll feel the same way so hit those one click buttons!  HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

So amazingly sweet! Slade literally runs into Annie, and from that moment on, he is over the moon for her. Annie is still reeling from the death of her beloved grandmother, and is far from home to fulfill a dream they shared. Being knocked over by a hulk of a man ends up being the best thing to happen to her. I loved how gentle Annie is. She isn't hesitant about standing up for herself, but she's also not a loud and brash person. Her peaceful demeanor draw's Slade's whole family to her, just as quickly as it did Slade. I wanted this story to just go on and on! Can't wait to read about the rest of the Saxon siblings finding their matches. Happy Reading!!

A quick and short read that most definitely packed a punch (pun intended hehe).

I absolutely loved the interaction between the Saxon siblings. Each one has something going on that I can already tell will lead to a great series.

The author isn’t kidding when she says she writes instalove romances, and that’s exactly what happened here. Once Slade and Annie met, the rest was history. As the weeks passed, their love only grew deeper and I enjoyed seeing her become part of the family.

If you’re in the mood for a sweet, fast-paced, safe romance, this story is for you!

If you like the "Crimes Kings" series, this one also offered delectable goodness of family warmth with a little sprinkle of action suspense; just a tad bit. The story was sweet. The romance between MCs was developed bit by bit and came out naturally between them; No rush, just the right pace.

Quick read

This is a good quick read. Alpha male swagger in Slade with sweet innocence in Annie add up to your typical insta love story. Wish the story was a bit more fleshed out but overall I enjoyed it enough to read the next brothers story when it comes out

"You're my heart, my home, and my sanctuary."

This is the first book in the Saxon Family series and I can't wait for the rest. Ms. Gordon always knows how to leave us wanting more. Dual POV, virgin h, long time celibate H, no others after meeting, no abuse other than the h gets kidnapped and roughed up a little, epilogue 5 months and 5 years.
