Rivals #4

A Love Song for Always

Rate this book
I've spent years hating Tyler Adams.

I've also envied him, longed for him, and prayed to forget him.

He will always be my rebel prince and my childhood rival.

Tomorrow, he'll become something new...

My husband.

And I dare anything in this world to try and break us apart.

A Love Song for Always (Rivals #4) is a Tyler and Annie bonus book and should be read following Book 3 of the Rivals trilogy (A Love Song for Dreamers).

Now I wish I had just skipped this one, cause i really loved this trilogy!
The character development, the growth, the angst, the heartbreak....
I loved everything.

But to read a novella that is suppose to be just a happy ending wedding, and instead of what it was suppose to be, it's just a novella to show that Jax still don't give a fuck about his own daughter's happiness, dragging Tyler into a business during their wedding escape and forcing him to participate in every meeting, even making him lose his own wedding rehearsal!
It was a hard pill to swallow!

Harder yet was to see Annie accepting being put in second place to business, when the whole week ended up being about the label record and not her wedding...

Tyler putting her in the corner, coming back just to give her some dick was not what I've signed for with this novella.

It all solved out in the end? Yeah.
But this novella was probably more about a next series with Ray and the British dude, and about Tyler being a shit fianceé.

The end.

MC: Annie, Tyler
SC: Jax, Haley, Rae, Elle, Finn, some others who’s name I already forgot.

I am not really a fan of this book. The Drama was constructed. Of course an opportunity arises when it arises, but the question is: Is a deal worth to make stress in my wedding week? And could’t they push it one week and then Jax can do all the business shit and present it to Tyler?

And Annie was to soft. I mean if you are unhappy with the decisions your future husband makes without talking to you, you should give him a piece of your mind and not go all okay he is so hot and I am a puddle of want. In real life most people are not so forgiving or do not hold a grudge.

Also I hated that the story was like Drama, some adult time, Drama, adult … time you get it. I read the whole book and thankfully it is a short one, basically, because I wanted to know the end.

So sorry as much as I liked the first three books, the third one was my least favourite and I know my opinion is not a popular one.

🎧🎧AUDIO REVIEW🎧🎧

OVERALL REVIEW:
The Rivals series is a solid 3.5 to 4 STAR journey as a whole, but unfortunately, this leg of the race is only a 2 STAR for me!

PERFORMANCE REVIEW: I absolutely loved Rose Dioro as Annie and Teddy Hamilton as Tyler! They both narrated exceptionally well for me, and I just loved how their narration brought the characters to life for me! WELL DONE!

STORY REVIEW: One of the aspects of Tyler & Annie’s story that captivated me and frustrated me the most was that throughout the journey of these four books, you honestly just do not really know if they’re going to make it or not! At least that’s what I felt like while reading. It was utterly captivating because I knew I was reading a romance journey so obvs there was going to be a HEA at some point but Piper Lawson penned a real and relatable story with all kinds of hurdles and circumstances where if you didn’t know the goal of the story was a HEA, you might just think maybe not … it was as much brilliant as it was frustrating because I really wanted them to make it! LOL (BTW, they did! finally!! )

That being said, as much as I admire Piper Lawson’s strategy on the plot of Tyler & Annie’s journey, I have to say that this installment was unexpected. Essentially, what should have been a wedding novella, turned out to be (I don’t even know what to call it to be quite honest), and it just made my heart sink for almost the entire story. The only thing I will say is that I wish the book focused more on Annie & Tyler rather than outside circumstances that honestly put a very dark cloud over their relationship. I didn’t care for Tyler’s development in this installment and my heart broke for Annie at every turn. I hope against hope that this isn’t a pattern for all of Piper’s journeys because I just started my deep dive into her books and her voice & style intrigue me! Here’s to hoping!

Overall, I’d highly recommend the Rivals journey with a bit of a warning about this part of the journey. *sigh* Those are my thoughts, do with them as you please :)

3.5-4 ⭐'s

And now we get to the "always" part...that's supposed to be the good part but is it?

I think if I hadn't read all these books back to back, it would have been better. Yes, I loved the angst but the back and forth between these two is way too much. It's just drama for drama's sake.

However, I must say that I enjoyed how everything wrapped up and all I can say is "finally"!

There is a juicy epilogue regarding two certain someones that sounds intriguing. Hmmmm....

Okay so these all were short and fun. I loved how each book was a different phase of their life. They both had trials and it feels very real and raw. I wouldn’t say their relationship is perfect but I love how they came together.

Overall I’ll give the series a solid 3.5 stars.

A Love Song for Always was the perfect conclusion to Tyler and Annie’s story. This was truly the book I never knew I needed.

Tyler and Annie haven’t always had an easy journey when it came to their relationship, but they have finally reached their wedding. This book just brought joy to my soul because after everything they can finally and truly be happy together and do it all in front of their friends and family.

I also enjoyed the little teaser of what is to come and I am dying for the next series from Piper Lawson!

If you’ve read the previous three books in The Rivals series then you’ll want to read this one!

Book 4 in Tyler and Annie’s epic love story. This bonus story was a surprise treat for the readers and I was all for it. This series has taken us on an emotional roller coaster and this was the perfect ending for their love story. There will be some bumps in the road on their way to becoming husband and wife that they will have to manage but with the help of their family and friends, it is nothing that Annie and Tyler can’t handle. This story was everything and so much more. Loved the glimpse into what is next and I am so ready for it. Great read and highly recommend this series. You won’t be disappointed.

Gaaaahhhh!! My HEA loving heart is so happy.

The author put me through the ringer with these two and I was so excited to finally get their happy ending. It wouldn’t be a Piper Lawson book without some angst but I’d classify this one as “angst light.”

It’s sexy, it’s witty and it’s packed with swoon worthy moments you want from a wedding novella. Absolutely loved it!

I received an arc of this book.

What can I say after turning the last page on Piper Lawson's, A Love Song for Always, #4 in her addictive Rivals series?  So many words are swirling around in my head right now.  Beautifully written, sweet and romantic, swoonworthy and hot, hot, hot ...introspective with with some well placed dabs of suspensefulness that kept me laser focused on the outcome! What a meaningful combination of feels are wrapped up in this captivating story, waiting for you to discover.

Annie and Tyler, with all the bumps and roadblocks thrown in their path over the years, are finally getting their HEA! Arriving in paradise, ready to take the next step, with the most important and influential people in their lives looking on- cherished friends, beloved family and even a few who challenged them at every turn.  Their journey was long- many years in the making and the unbreakable bond they'd formed would never be forgotten.  The first 3 books were just soooo fantastic- each one left me holding my breath until the next book came along while stopping my heart more times than I can remember along the way. Exactly how I love my romances to be!

Tyler said it best with this beautiful and swoonworthy quote, which this book is full of.  This one in particular really stood out to me-simple but says it all about their love.

           "To us. Then. Now. Always."

A Love Song for Always ended so perfectly for them- I was thrilled to watch these two soulmates who know and love each other better than they know themselves, taking their place alongside each other, vowing their forever...together. Someone please hand me some tissues! I loved this book!!! Already devoured it twice!

I'm going to miss Annie and Tyler after keeping them in my thoughts for so long, Jax and Haley too.  Who knows, maybe I'll  see glimpses of them again if their crazy group of friends decide to keep me guessing and on my toes in the future, entertaining me with their own takes on finding love!  If that happens, I'll be ready!  Whatever Piper Lawson decides to write next will no doubt end up on my TBR.  Her stories just draw me in with her amazing ability to combine all of my favorite parts of romance in the best of ways, keeping me engrossed until every last drop of sexy goodness has been inhaled!

This advanced copy was gratefully received and honestly reviewed.

Thankfully, this is not one of Piper Lawson’s signature cliffhangers. It’s the “final” story of Annie and Tyler, although I suspect they’ll be making more appearances in future books. It’s sweet and passionate and the happily ever after that they so deserve. I enjoyed the appearances of Jax and Haley, who have not been heavily featured in the other Annie and Tyler books. This time, Haley is a support for Annie and Jax is a support for Tyler. The reader is reminded of the intense love story they shared in the Wicked series (Good Girl, Bad Girl, etc.). This comes full-circle with Jax and Tyler’s attempted purchase of the Wicked record label.

As always, there are some wonderful metaphors and similar comparisons as well as statements of a profound and lasting love. Some are just clever. I loved this one: “Tyler’s mouth is hard and demanding, as if everything he’s owed is on the other side of my lips and he won’t stop until he’s claimed it all.” And this: “...the sight before me steals not only my oxygen, but my need for it.” Statements like these made up for the one that made me stop in my tracks because I find it so cliche: “I wouldn’t want it any other way.” Maybe it’s just me, that this particular phrase just grates on me like nails on a chalkboard. I suppose it can be allowed because it reflects the thought of a character (Annie), but she’s much more original than that so I stand by my assessment. Even in her thoughts, Annie would be more creative than that.

There is one part that actually made me laugh out loud, as I was pulled into a conversation between Tyler and Annie. She sees a bird on their patio and comments on its beauty, wondering what kind of bird it is. Tyler tells her it’s called a “cockblocker.” At another point in the book, when Tyler and Annie finally have a moment alone, she comments, “The way you’re looking at me might get me pregnant.” His response is priceless: “But it might not, so why take the chance?”

There is never any doubt about the love between Tyler and Annie, but Tyler grew up with a lot of uncertainty and instability, so there’s always a sense of unworthiness, like he needs to prove himself. Annie assuages this recurring theme: “Every time you open your eyes, you deserve me… Every time you take a breath. Now show me what you’d do if you believed it.”

There’s always something more satisfying about achievement when it has been hard won. Tyler and Annie were never guaranteed happiness together, and everything that could get in their way did get in their way. It was a relief to see them finally get where they want to be, and they still have their whole lives ahead of them. Yes, they’re fictional characters, but as the expert writer that Piper Lawson is, she has brought them to life and made them real. Their happiness matters to me. I’m glad I was given an ARC to this novel. I loved it.

A Love Song For Always is the conclusion to Annie and Tyler's story and I must say I enjoyed these two! They struggled in the beginning but as their story progressed the bond and chemistry between the two continued to grow. They didn't always have it easy but I think that's why I loved this story so much. In this book, we got to hear about their wedding with their friends and family; it was such a happy time for them. It was such a lovely listen.

Every single step of Annie and Tyler's amazing love story has been filled with intense emotion and big challenges and their path to the altar is no different. So prepare yourself for all the tears, turmoil, drama and feels that are headed your way as the story unfolds. I think there is something so special about this couple. Maybe its simply the fact that throughout the course of this series and in the Wicked series before that, we met, watched these two grow up and shared the painful struggle they endured to move from friends to lovers. This makes them, their friends, Annie's dad Jax and her stepmom Haley all beloved old friends that you are always over the moon to reconnect with and catch up on. In case, you haven't caught on, you MUST read the complete Rival series and in order, to understand everything and get this couples whole story. If you enjoy it I highly recommend the Wicked series too. It features Jax and Haley's romance and if you love Tyler and Annie, I think you will fall for them too. This is my unbiased, unsolicited review.

My rating: 4 stars

What I liked: I liked how we got to see Tyler(H) and Annie(h) get married. I also can’t wait to read the next story that will be her friend and his.

What I didn’t like: I wished the book was longer, especially would have liked to seen more in the future.

How hot was it: 3 out 5

Triggers: Friend of the h’s was manhandled and witnessed a chick get sexually assaulted (off page but was mentioned)

Final thoughts: I enjoyed this but just wished we would have gotten to see more of them in the future. Definitely will be reading the friend’s book.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.

Fans of this series (Rivals) will be delighted to read this story! In the previous book (A love song for dreamers) we read how Tyler proposed to Annie and in this follow-up story we get to see how Annie and Tyler are getting ready for their wedding. But just like in real life, no matter how much you prepare and organize everything for a perfect wedding, life will always be unpredictable and things will not always go as planned. Something that Annie will discover in this story. But just like always, their love will be stronger then the obstacles. Who needs a perfect wedding when you marry your soulmate!

This story was a wonderful reunion with old acquaintances. We got to see not only Annie and Tyler but also their best friends and Annie’s family. We also got a little tip of the two characters who will be in the next book! The writer also gave us an epilogue with some extra news! I loved that!

I enjoyed this story, it’s a sweet and good read.

This review is for all 5 books.

4 stars across the board…except for “A Love Song For Dreamers” which I gave 5 stars!

This series was amazing! The character development was extraordinary! Piper Lawson gave us a beautiful love story starting with the prequel Love Notes where Annie and Tyler are reintroduced to her reads again after being mentioned in the Wicked series.

Rivals Series will Capture your Heart while taking you on Annie and Tyler Love journey.

What I enjoyed the most was seeing Annie and Tyler mature throughout the series. We get to witness all there first…
first kiss, first love, their first struggles with understand and dealing with what they’re feeling for one another, and as the series continues you get to see and feel every obstacles and emotions that Annie and Tyler go through with not only making there dreams come true, but how they react together every time they reconnected again. They have this unconditional love for each other, a Love that makes them feel as their souls are one.
This series is full of angst, heartache, love and so much more. It’s hard not to fall in love with these two characters and not root for their HEA.

I truly enjoyed every book in the Rivals series…,but I will have to say though, A Love Song For Dreamers was my favorite book, just because it was full of passion, forgiveness and had the most character development.

I would definitely recommend reading the Rivals Series 💞

“It’s you and me, Six. Then. Now. Always”

I am at an absolute loss of words with what to say! I have loved following Annie and Tyler’s journey since I discovered the Rivals series last year, beginning with Love Notes novella. And now to see it come to an end with A Love Song for Always it's definitely hard to take in.

This couple has meant everything to me, with each book they buried themselves a little more deeper into my heart until they became apart of it. Embedded so deep, that nothing or no one can ever take them away or replace them or the position they hold.

Piper Lawson came through with an absolutely perfect HAPPILY EVER AFTER ending to Annie and Tyler’s Love Song story.
This book had it all with the depth to all the deep emotions and feelings. It was absolutely beautifully written, with words of ROMANCE and AFFECTION, filled with DEEP, HEARTFELT, SWEET and YEARNING ROMANTIC moments that I could help but SIGH and AW. And HEART STOPPING, SWOONWORTHY moments of BURNING HOT, SENSUAL, SEXY and STEAMY INTENSE PASSION.
Though it wouldn’t be an Annie and Tyler story without some bumps, suspense and roadblocks in the path leading to their wedding. And although it did hurt to see, it made it all worth while when they were able to over come it together as always.

Honestly I couldn’t ask for anything more, A Love Song for Always was absolutely beautifully put together and written.
Congratulation Piper on a job well done with this AMAZING and INCREDIBLE story.
It was the icing on top of the cake, finally seeing Annie and Tyler get their deserving of a HAPPILY EVER AFTER! Filling my heart with immense love, joy and happiness.
And though I am sad that the chapter has closed on their story, with that bonus at the end I know that this won’t be the last we see of them.

Magnificent !!
I think this has got to be one of the most romantic stories I have ever read,it made my heart sing and touched me deeply.
I LOVE Annie and Tyler they are perfect,I adore their relationship and the way they LOVE eachother and respect eachother they are soul mates. They are one of my favourite couples to read about and spend time with.
Piper Lawson has done it once again and created the ideal book, writing beautiful words that enchanted me completely, constructing the most exquisite wedding for Annie and Tyler and it had me in an emotional mess...Yes ok I cried inexplicably Guilty !!!
It was great being with all the gang again,of course there is a fair share of things going wrong and we experience the ups and downs of the 7 days before the wedding. Anxiously reading all the potholes being put in the way putting a shadow on their happy day...the path before the wedding is a stressful one.
A Love Song For Always is a little piece of heaven for me and I cherished every single moment ,and witnessing in my mind the union of Annie and Tyler, it was Perfection, and took my breath away.
It is Utter Paradise in a book and I could not Love it anymore than I do,it was a JOY to read and my heart is left so full and happy.
Piper Lawson blew my mind and satisfied my hungry romantic heart her writing is phenomenal and I Loved Everything about this story.
I highly recommend this book and the whole series.
A universe full of stars is not enough it deserves so much more.
Excellent !!

The perfect bonus book after the Love Song (Rivals) Trilogy ...

... is the wedding of Annie and Tyler, and in A Love Song for Always we did see that Annie and Tyler had reached their HEA, but the interruptions of the music industry were far from over. There is still much that could happen to derail their big day.

What I loved about this Rivals book #4, was that it gave me the icing on top of the Love Song Trilogy by seeing a lot more of Annie’s father, and Tyler’s mentor, Rockstar legend Jax Jamieson along with his wife Haley in capacity as equals in the music industry rather than legend and newbies. By now, both Tyler and Annie have earned respect within their respective fields, and the time has come where Jax wants to give support to the young ones starting out – with Tyler’s help.

Unfortunately, the timing is wrong.

Wow, I adored the tension surrounding the whole countdown of days towards the wedding because, seriously, the pressure was on, and I was a ball of tension just reading this book!!! At the core of it all was the love that Jax and Tyler have for the ladies in their lives, and when time starts to run short, they have to decide just where their priorities lie.

Again, Piper Lawson had my full attention for a series that has been an amazing 5 star read from start to finish 🎶

Satisfying. Annie and Tyler are an exciting couple as they both pursue their passion in music in very different ways. Their love is limitless and they are finally making it official. Of course, as they prepare for their wedding, life has a way of throwing a few curve balls. One is the opportunity for Tyler to work with Annie’s dad, Jax, to buy Wildfire Records. But a deal this size is going to take time which doesn’t make Annie happy as her pre-wedding plans with Tyler start to get changed. Will they still make it down the aisle? So wonderful to experience this couple now that they have established their careers and are confident in their love. It’s also fantastic to see how Tyler wants to provide for Annie and their future. We also get to spend time with Jax, Haley, Beck, Rae and Elle to find out how they are all doing too. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Tyler and Annie is getting married and she has planned everything carefully. But not everything went as planned, not when she learned that Tyler and Jax is caught up in a business deal acquiring Wicked, the recording company where both of them had their start. Tyler, however, is determined to not let anything stand in the way of letting Annie know that she comes first in his life, no matter how much he wants to secure their future. And Annie knows that whatever he is doing comes from a place of love for her and wanting to give her only the best. This final book in the series, bringing us their wedding, has the same ingredients as the previous books - wonderful characters, swoonworthy romance, heartfelt emotions and sizzling chemistry. A perfect ending to the series. I received an ARC copy of the book and am leaving a voluntary review.

Tyler and Annie have been through so many heartbreaking obstacles, but they are *finally* ready for their wedding!! All the tears, the emotional and physical distance, insecurities, and miscommunications brought them to where they are today, and they are stronger than they have ever been. However, while Annie is making sure they have the perfect wedding and planning everything meticulously to a T, Tyler has been busy working on a deal (and hiding it) that will make not only Annie and his futures better, but the future of the label better as well. But with the deadline being the same week as their wedding, can Tyler give Annie all that she deserves? Or is more heartbreak on the horizon for them both?

I loved this book so much!! Tyler and Annie had such an intense journey, and I absolutely adore that we got to see them be happy with one another, and moving up in their respective careers. There were also a few scenes with Annie and her dad that made me teary, and I love how far they've come as well! This was just a percent ending for this couple!

Plus we glimpse of whose book is coming next, and I can't wait!!

Beautiful, touching and so completely perfect,
A Love Song for Always was exactly the closure I was missing for Annie and Tyler's story. My ultimate couple, my ride or die, my OTP finally found their well deserved HEA, and my heart couldn't be more happy.
I shed a disproportionate amount of tears to the length of this book.
After living and loving vicariously through Annie and Tyler since the Wicked days, this book touched my heart and I felt EVERYTHING.
It is a perfect love song, then. now. always.

This is the perfect wrap up for Tyler and Annie!! The journey to the wedding day whether it’s the fictional one of your favourite characters or a real life couple there is gonna be something possibly go wrong! Annie and Tyler over come there issues before the day but they make it and this is a beautifully written story.

I’ve loved Tyler and Annie all through their own trilogy and before, when they were introduced in Jax and Haley’s story.

This book has everything you want from a piper Lawson book! And i felt everything even the moment between Jax and Annie their relationship may not have always been on stable ground but this moment between the two solidifies there relationship.

Also don’t ever cross momma Hales when she’s mad at you!!

I loved the Rivals series so the moment Piper surprised us with this fourth book, I was jumping up and down with exceitement.

I didn't know what to expect because come on, Annie and Tyler have had more than enough drama in the previous three books AND nothing could stop their wedding from happening!! I

This was the perfect final book for the two of them. Their conclusion brought tears to my eyes. It was honestly such a beautiful end to an incredible series.

That ending wedding night scene.... I need more!! Does this mean Rae is getting her own book?!?!

Piper Lawson writes such emotional stories but somehow manages to make them feel real, as if I was part of their world instead of just reading about it. This last book in the Annie and Tyler love story culminates with their wedding, and I immediately got sucked in. It was like being back and visiting with old friends (yup I’m talking about you Jax and Hales!).

Watching the evolution of Annie and Tyler, from angry teenagers to star crossed lovers, to finally together, where they’re meant to be, was like a fairy tale for me. Great sexy scenes without being too over the top, and the HEA these two deserve.

Hurry up and write Rae and Harrison’s story please Piper, I’m starting to go into withdrawal!

Oh man!!! This...I just can’t...and...Of course that was the path to their wedding...Nothing comes easy with those two, but DAMN, when it’s all said and done and they’ve conquered whatever has been thrown at them, man they make heart so full! Annie and Tyler have always been a favorite duel of mine. From the Wicked series to their own. I’ve loved falling in love with them!!! I’m also so happy to see Jax and her finally getting to a place with nothing but love between them!!!!

I’m sad to see their love story come to an happy end, but I’m excited to see the rest of the “family” fall in love with their own partners!!!

This one kind of dragged for me and was probably the worst of the series for me. I wanted to like it as much as the ending with Haley and Jax, but I can't. Also, Jax was annoying with getting Tyler away to go talk to the lawyers. It was his damn wedding recital. I'm was so happy when Tyler finally stood up for himself and Annie. In the end, Tyler and Annie got married, Tyler (and Jax) got Wicked, and Annie got pregnant. It's was a cute nice ending to the series.
