Your Special Gift
If you don't tell them, someone else will. Having "the talk" can sometimes be an awkward experience for both parent and child. Even so, I didn't want to wait until my children's hormones kicked in, and I didn't want to be caught off guard when they had questions, but most of all, I didn't want them growing up with misconceptions concerning sex. I wanted my children to be informed about the facts of life, yet without being too sexually explicit in the process, because some of the facts weren't good such as pornography, diseases, and predators, but these subjects needed to be addressed as well.
As a result, I told them what I have written in Your Special Gift , by using the analogy of a gift, a lock, and a key to define commonly used sexual terms, and to caution them about possible consequences, and to warn them of potential predators. I also told them what God says about this Special Gift, and I used Scripture to define true love.
The simplicity of the gift analogy opens the door of communication between parent and child in an effective, straightforward, and yet sensitive way, so that any question concerning sex can be answered by using this method.
Your Special Gift is a faith-based guide that can be read alongside most 7-to-12 year old children or presented to them as a valuable reference.

Awesome book written for parents to help them talk about sex with their pres teens. Honestly I think all ages of teenagers should read this. Our society has made sex such a casual thing and the biblical truths shared in this book are right on the mark. Its a very quick read and ones worth looking into.

A short book written mainly for girls about sex. Though I do not see any reason why boys could not read this as well as the point is just the same.
This book has some biblical quotes in it. It also uses an analogy of getting a gift to having sex--I think this was a great way to explain it especially to a younger audience, like this book is written for.
