Two years ago, I’d married for love.

Little had I known I was marrying into a threesome.

Now my wannabe ex is dead, and everybody thinks I did it.

Worse—I inherited everything…including the Roughriders, the NFL franchise the locals follow with a religious fervor bordering on a cult-like fanaticism.

Imagine, in Dallas, a woman, and worse, a Northerner, running their sainted tea

I was a bit distraught when the Lucky series ended. Ms. Coonts was kind enough to let me know Lucky would make an appearance in this new series. I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for posting an honest review. I have to tell you, the book didn't disappoint at all. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. I really enjoyed the fast paced storyline and its cast of characters. The book was full of laughs, mystery, a touch of romance, and kept me guessing until the end. I thoroughly enjoy ...more

I enjoyed Deborah Coonts Lucky O'Toole series and was disappointed when she announced the end of the series. So I jumped at the chance to read the start of a new series. Glad I did because it is just like being back in Lucky's world, it's even got Paxton Dane in it. The story is full of Deborah's humour and sass and I think this is a great start to a new series. Living in England I did think I would get confused with the football meanings being different to our football terms but even though it ...more

Brinda Rose has just inherited the Roughriders.
A football team based in Dallas, and a rival to the Cowboys.
She inherited the team the easy way.
Her husband was murdered.

Now the NFL is giving her 90 days to prove she can run a professional team, or she will be forced to sell.

She has plenty of people who want her out. The ringleader is her father-in-law, along with most of the other moneyed people in town who have a vested interest in the team. Along with discovering a series of tapes involving s

Deborah Coonts has another winner on her hands with “90 Days to Score” and I couldn’t be happier. I was sorry to see her “Lucky O’Toole” series end, so this is a balm to my reader’s heart. Coonts writes great characters and creates interesting mysteries. I always enjoy them. But what I enjoy even more is her writing style. She has a way of using words that always amazes me. She paints these incredible word pictures, and then populates them with all manner of characters. In this new series, we ar ...more

I was saddened when Lucky O'Toole figuratively rode off into the Nevadan desert; fortunately for me, Deborah Coonts was already plotting a way to reengage her legion of fans while moving forward.

90 Days to Score has a strong protagonist (when she got over feeling sorry for herself), strong supporting characters, and a winding plot, and the links back to Lucky O'Toole brought back warm fuzzies.

I started reading this as the free daily serial, but missed a day (aarrgghh!!!!!), so bought the monthly

Shelves: have-read
Mrs. Austin Terry a.k.a. Brinda Rose's husband is dead. Someone shot him outside a strip club. Brinda is 30 years old and now owns everything her suppose to be ex-husband owned. That includes an NFL team that doesn't seem to be doing very well. The NFL has 'graciously' given her 90 days to prove she can run the team or sell! She may not be from Texas but the Jersey girl in her has proclaimed "Game on boys!" As she finds herself on the outside looking in with very few people she can trust and som ...more

What a hoot! Deborah Coonts at her very best in a new series! The characters, the witty and humorous dialog and a well-rounded mystery that will hold your attention to the very end! Brinda Rose was in love, until she wasn’t. Now her husband (who she was divorcing) is dead. She doesn’t know what he was up to, but it was enough to get him killed. Now she is the beneficiary of his vast estate including the North Texas Roughriders, where football is everything in Texas. They plan to force her out, b ...more

This was an entertaining read. Brinda Rose divorced her husband the same day he is murdered. So, of course, she is the main suspect. This is a 3 part book that deals with her and her wacky friends trying to clear her name. Dane, a character from the "Lucky" series, also by Deborah Coonts is a main character. Lots of side characters make for a lot of entertainment, and some surprises thrown in. Looks like it might be a new series in the making =) ...more

Ms Coonts never disappoints and this book is even better than most. Non stop action, close calls, intrigue, and a little romance but not too much. Stunning portrayal of the life style of the rich and famous of Texas. Heroine is kick ass and take names tough girl from New Jersey, who has fought her way tooth and nail to where she is. They shouldn't have messed with her. ...more

I loved reading this book!
Brinda Rose inherits an NFL franchise after her ex-husband dies.
Brinda only has 90 days to prove she can lead the team or she's out of business.
Fast paced, funny as all get out, and Lucky plays a small part in the book which is a bonus for all the Lucky O'Toole fans.
Loved reading this book.. Yet another winner for Deborah Coonts!

I enjoyed this immensely! I simply love her dry humor, clever plot and unassuming heroines. The action is fast-paced, the mystery and the characters complex and full of surprises, and the ending left me in a good mood.

I was so looking forward to this that I read it in a day, and my trust in Ms. Coonts to deliver an excellent read again was fully warranted.

Not the bright lights of Vegas

But enjoyable just the same. Very convoluted but I enjoyed the misdirection. Great to see Dane but felt like he was a little washed out in this series. More sparkling in the Lucky O’Toole series. And btw ~ I want to be Fran when I grow up.

Absolutely fabulous

I absolutely loved this story. Great plot and interesting characters, with connections to another strong female character that we grew to love. Please let there be more of Brinda Rose

For those that opted not to partake of the daily installments, this complete collection is perfect. Those looking for a Lucky fix and an HEA for Dane w00ill be right at home in Brinda Rose’s world. The short chapters are perfect bite sized portions, but you will want to devour in one sitting.

I really enjoyed this book . It was so fast paced and I had to finish it in one go. Can’t wait for the next book. Just loved Brinda Rose . It’s a great continuation to the lucky o toole series which I lived . Thank you Deborah Coonts.

I love this new series by Deborah Coonts. I like the new characters and the fact she sprinkled in some of Lucky as well. I will be looking forward to reading more about Brinda Rose in the future.

Harley Joe was a very low character. Some of the reveals fell a bit flat for me - due to the way they were executed/carried out. I found that there were quite a few herrings in this book - but the final outcome was satisfactory, though it might seem a bit obvious in hindsight.
I got an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I needed a mystery with a smart, resourceful heroine with a sense of humor and a streak of stubbornness, and Brinda Rose is IT. She comes out swinging and doesn’t stop until she has all the answers. The pace is breakneck with a ton of suspects and Brinda’s very much a doer, so this isn’t a book to snack on here and there; there are 90-odd short chapters (to go along with the title), each ending with its own cliffhanger and the next chapter often starting in another place with another set of char ...more
