For the most part this was a good read. From Jet falling in love with Rockets behind because that's the first thing he saw, to the flaming hoola hoop and the flaming baton.
There was one aspect towards the end I didn't care for but over all a good book.

Jet is home on leave, his pilot career let him lose just in time for the county fair. His buddy Henry picked him up from the airport. Looking forward to some fair food, he was not expecting to be approached by a woman in a business suit and asked to judge the Butter Queen Pageant. Jet with military precision is at attention in more ways than one, because when they enter the tent with all the contestants he was not expecting to see his future bent over a make-up table in what looks like her underwear, thank goodness he was wrong about this being high school students .
Rocket is twenty three and has been entering the Butter Queen competition since she was eighteen. This year and next is all she has before she can no longer compete. But this year brings more than the allure of the tiara. Because that pilot has her engines purring.

A rich girl contestant had her daddy buy off a judge, her makeup artist spike someones mascara and her chef poison a salad, distract a stage hand that caused a fire.

Butter Queen by Abby Knox was exactly what I was looking for, a feel good, pick me up story that kept me grinning from start to finish! Well flavored and well seasoned with tons of spice and sass and an extra sprinkling of sugar sweetness that hits you out of nowhere, this story made me smile, made my heart smile, and was exactly what the doctor ordered.
I mean, where can I get me a Jet? I'd very much like one, please and thank you! He's charming, caring, and his description sure is easy on the eyes!
And Rocket? Tens across the board, and not just because we're participating in a pageant. She's feisty, fierce, sassy, and unapologetically herself, and it is refreshing and hilarious and sweet and lovely to read!
If you're looking for a fun, sweet, charming, shmekshay, quick read, look no further as this will tick every single box and win every single round of the pageant!

This is an insta love quick pace romance. You meet rocket a woman trying to win a the towns pagent and Jet who has just arrived home after being away in deployment. From the moment their eyes meet that’s it game over but what if Jet is on the judging panel who will be voting for the winner of the pageant.
There are so many sweet moments between them, the scenes were fan worthy and this whole book kept me smiling. The funny banter between them. Them finding something that they thought they’d never find makes you want them together even more. I couldn’t put it down and cannot wait to read more from this author.
If you’re looking for a sweet, swoon worthy, alpha claiming his woman and a strong sassy heroine, this is the book for you.

Rocket and Jet are on fire!
I absolutely loved this quick read. It’s love at first sight for Jet, he’s back home from active duty and ready to spend time with his best friend at the state fair (their tradition). He gets roped into judging the Butter Queen contest, the rest is a sweet, combustible romp that I could not put down. Can’t wait for the best friends story. And that cover is on fire!

Rocket and Jet made me swoon sooo hard!
I loved their story, from the pageant drama to the intense chemistry and insta love it was a definite win for me. Jet is a military man and knows what he wants and will not stop until he gets it. Rocket is desperate to win the crown but sets her sights on the handsome judge to win her heart instead. Now I just need Henry’s story and I will be sooo happy!

Fast paced novel set against the quintessential small town environment tells of the meeting of Jet and Rocket - perfectly matched by name before anything else. I loved the fast pace of this story and look forward to more by Abby Knox

Love Rocket and the fact that she goes for what she wants in her life and doesn't let anything stand in her way. Then she is thrown a little curve with the hot judge. These two were amazing together and so very enjoyable to read. Another amazing story!

Butter Queen was corkey and funny with tons of hotness. I love when a book has some humor, uniqueness and is fast paced. A definite must read.

Plot: Rocket is participating in the Butter Queen pageant. This is really important to her, but when she meets one of the substitute judges, she falls for him hard, even though it could damage her chances of winning. Jet was on leave and got roped into judging the Butter Queen pageant. Once he gets a look at Rocket, he doesn't think he can be impartial.
Commentary: So much OTT fun! This was a great combination of typical Abby Knox smut plus the fun of gently poking at beauty pageants with a little bit of mystery and suspense thrown in. Her competition was awful and exactly what you imagine when you think of beauty pageant competitors and their stage parents. I loved this story - the only thing I didn't really like was the names - maybe a step too silly.

This was a fun book to read, you never knew what was going to happen next. Rocket has wanted to be Butter Queen for years, she’s always come close but never gotten the crown. She feels like this is her year, until she sees the substitute judge, Jet. He’s on leave from the Air Force, and headed to the state fair or buttered corn. There he’s asked to be a judge for the Butter Queen pageant. He sees Rocket for the first time and is instantly in love. Paris is another contestant who has always wanted to win too, and this year she has used underhanded methods to win. Rocket and Jet team up together with the help of a few others to help save the day. After the new queen is crowned Rocket and Jet go back to her trailer for sexy times. They both tell each other they love each other. Flash ahead one year later and Jet has a plan to surprise Rocket to forward their life together and Rocket winning Butter Queen. Epilogue five years later with children and the two very happy together. Food poisoning, tampered with makeup, flaming batons, and a small fire all make for an exciting read.

Short and cute and sweet - sort of like I imagine Rocket (the female lead)! I liked Jet too - and that combo of names? Jet and Rocket for the win! I like that there was an external drama that did not have anything to do with their relationship, but it did add to the meat of the plot. I also enjoyed the sneak preview of the couple to be featured in the next book (I love a good single parent romance). This was everything that I have come to expect from Abby Knox and exactly what I needed after consuming a particularly heavy tome. I'm truly looking forward to the follow up to this buttery confection :) 3 out of 5 wine glasses.

I feel like a broken record when it comes to Abby Knox. I find all her books delightful and fun, sweet and sultry. That said, Butter Queen was all that times ten. Rocket is all the best attributes of a Southern lady who competes in pageants. She enjoys competing but her whole identity isn't wrapped up in it. She enjoys life even if it isn't perfect. When she lays eyes on Jet, she can't help but admire him and the feeling is very mutual. Jet is another typical Abby Knox hero and I mean that in the best way possible. They are all physically attractive and yet its their personalities that set them apart. This was just phenomenal; purely fantastical romance at its finest. I can't thank Ms Knox enough for giving us these precious gems. Ten stars for Butter Queen!

When jet decides she is the woman of his dreams he will stop at nothing to make her his forever. This book is steamy,action packed funny and in the end a HEA that will make you smile.

Not Knox's best by far
I liked the small town setting and feel. I like that they weren't rich. The best friends added something to the book and the situation that was implied gave a smooth transition for a future installment in this series.
I didn't like either main character that much. I'm fine with Aleesha and teaching boys the baton, but the book was preachy. It tried too hard and fell short. The dialogue was often weird and unnatural. I usually really enjoy Abby Knox books, so I'm pretty disappointed by this one. I really thought it would be different and better.

Fun Read!!
Butter Queen is the ultimate pageant read!!
Rocket and Jet have amazing chemistry making this an insta-love favorite.
