This is a Cozy Mystery, and this is the 14th book in A Domestic Diva Mystery series. I have not read the other books in this series, but I did not feel lost while reading this book. I have to say that I really loved the characters in this book. The mystery was good, and it kept me guessing. I did not guess the twist. I have to say this was a fun cute cozy mystery, but I do think that there was a few times in the book I felt there was just to much going on. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this ...more

The Diva Serves Forbidden Fruit is the 14th book in the long-running Diva series. I was late to the party with this series but was able to binge-read it last year to be caught up for this release. This is a very entertaining series and fans will not be disappointed. Once again, Ms. Davis provides her fans with a well-plotted mystery that will leave her readers guessing until the end. One of my favorite parts of this series is the friendship between the characters. Ms. Davis has created a diverse ...more
The Diva Serves Forbidden Fruit by Krista Davis is book fourteen in the 'Domestic Diva Mystery Series' and was a great read! With plenty of delectable dishes, such as Bourbon Chocolate Chip Blondies and also a generous portion of friends, an Ocicat named Mochie, and murder this was a thoroughly enjoyable page-turner. (I really fancy trying Nina's Rum Runners, too!) The plot was solid and entertaining and the characters were a very likeable bunch of friends. I appreciated how they cared and suppo ...more

“The Diva Serves Forbidden Fruit ” is the 14th instalment in the Domestic Diva Mystery series by Krista Davis. I really enjoy this series and must read the earlier books and get caught up. Even though I haven't read all the earlier books I was able to follow along, so this can be read as a stand alone book.

I really like Sophie, she is relatable, interesting and I love her relationship with her ex Mars as well as several other residents of Old Town. I liked how the characters were there for each

Dollycas’s Thoughts

Sophie Winston has organized a DIY Home Decorating Street Fair and it looks to be a rousing success until a dead body is found in one of the backyards. Lark Bickford had just returned from a trip to Portugal. Sophie’s best friend Nina was on the same trip so she knew the trip did not go totally smoothly but could it have led to Lark’s murder? The victim did leave a clue to the killer’s identity but Sophie just can’t figure it out. When another woman from the trip is killed Sop

This is book 14 in the Domestic Diva mystery series. I haven’t read the others, but one thing I love about cozy mystery series’ is that I typically can jump in anywhere and never feel lost. I did feel like this book had a lot going on, and I was a little skeptical about what felt like a week like DIY festival. Overall I really liked these characters and I can see why they are so popular. Sophie is managing the event, but when people who just returned from a trip to Portugal are murdered or robbe ...more

Good friends, food and a murder. Sophie's friend Nina just returned from a not so great trip to Portugal but little did she know that things were going to get even worse. When one traveler is murdered and Nina's house is broken into Sophie and her friends spring into action. There seems to be a reason the travelers are being targeted but can they figure out why before more people are affected.

This is one of my favorite series. The author does an excellent job with descriptions, the characters ar

Oh how I love visiting with Sophie and her friends and this one did not disappoint; after several just average cozies, it was so good to dive into one that I knew I'd love and thankfully, that was the case here.

This was a really good read; I love Sophie, Nina, Bernie, and Mars together [I look at them as the Fantastic Four] and how well they work together to keep Nina safe [and later, Sophie as well] and to solve the mystery. ALLLLL while doing their regular jobs!! IMAGINE THAT!!!! Which again

Another seriously good read in a wonderful series. You know you are always going to get an interesting venue, amazing food talk, a confounding mystery and a visit with old friends when you read Ms Davis' Diva series. This time while Sophie is handling a do it yourself fair, she needs to deal with a neighbor's murder and someone going after her best friend Nina. What follows includes gold coins, murders and Crown jewels, you definitely want to be around for the ride! ...more

This is one of my favorite mystery series because I love the main character, event planner Sophie Winston. The friendships portrayed between her and her best friends make these books a pleasure to read. I would love to have a friend like Sophie. In between planning and running events and making treats for friends, she is able to solve crimes that her ex-boyfriend, Wolf, isn't able to, at least now without Sophie’s help. I also really like the Old Town Alexandria, Virginia setting and the descrip ...more

I'm never disappointed when I read a book in the domestic diva series. Sophie and Natasha are such great characters, they always make me laugh out loud.
Sophie is preparing for the DIY Home Decorating Festival, as well as looking forward to her friend Nina's return from a long trip.
When a neighbor's sudden death rocks their small town, Sophie finds herself involved in another murder investigation, and her friend Nina could be the next victim.

This is my very FAVORITE cozy mystery series. The books are such page turners that I can never put them down. You don’t need to have read any of the other books in the series to enjoy this one, so if you’re new to the series jump right in!

Sophie’s neighbor Nina has just returned from a trip to Portugal with a few other people from town. When the other travelers start dying in mysterious ways, Sophie and her friends need to figure out what’s happening before Nina gets hurt. The cozy factor is so

The Diva Serves Forbidden Fruit is the 14th book in the "A Domestic Diva Mystery" series. It is easy to read, has wonderful characters, and a plot that will have readers working to find who the culprit is and what their motive might be. It is filled with a great group of DIY'ers who are enthusiastic and charming. Of course, one of them might also be a murderer, so maybe they took DIY too far.

Sophie is one of those characters that, after so many books, feels like a friend or family member. You a

Unfortunately, some strange and scary things have been happening to some of the travelers and Sophie uses some of her free time to get to the bottom of it all. This well-written mystery is a great mix of whodunit, neighborhood goings-on, and everyday life with a group of wonderful, likable characters. Each chapter begins with letters to advice c ...more

A very good mystery. There are three murders and they seem similar. Were they murdered by the same person? All three went on a trip to Portugal. What happened there to cause this or is it unrelated? So many questions for Sophie and friends to figure out. Her friend Nina was on that trip and someone tried to break into her house. What is happening? Can they figure it out before someone else is murdered?
I love these characters, including Natasha, and I like spending time with them. There was a lot going on in this book and there were a bit too many characters, but it's still fun to catch up with Sophie and friends. It's nice that 2020 never hit these people. ...more

I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Sophie is busying running the DIY Festival when murder rears it’s ugly head again. Her best friend Nina has just returned from a trip to Portugal, and, when two of her fellow travelers die, Sophie is determined to solve the mystery in order to keep Nina safe.

There’s something comforting to me about Krista Davis’ Domestic Diva mysteries. I don’t know if it’s the familiar cast of characters after fourteen books. It’s always a treat to catch up with Sophie Winston, her best friend, Nina, her ex-husband, Mars, and Bernie, the owner of the local restaurant. It’s even fun to discover what kind of trouble Sophie’s nemesis/friend, Natasha is in. Maybe I like these books because they’re set in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. I have fond memories of several vi ...more

Sophie is trying desperately to pull of the DIY Home Decorating Festival on her street. Her neighbors have gotten their tents ready and have started selling their wares and demonstrating how to create decorating items. In between she has to pick up her best friend Nina from the airport, but is stunned when Nina arrives without shoes and looking haggard. After getting a tale of woe from Nina, it's back to business for Sophie.

But when she visits another friend the next morning she finds the woman

Falling in love with a cozy mystery series can be the proverbial double-edged sword. On the one hand, I get all excited when I get the latest edition. It’s like catching up with old friends you haven’t seen in a long while. However, there is always the risk of the newest installment not living up to the previous books. We cozy mystery fans have all experienced the decline in a well-loved series. It starts when we come to the end of a book and think, “Hum, that wasn’t as enjoyable as I’d hoped.” ...more

As with all Sophie Winston mysteries, I get pulled in from the very start. I mean what book that starts with Nina coming home from the airport with no shoes could possibly not compel someone to keep reading, right? Nina always has a great story. I just love her character, and she always cracks me up without being haha funny, if that makes sense. The sweet little dog she was fostering this time seemed to be a little more special to her than others too.

I have read many books by Krista Davis but I think the Diva series is my favorite. I did think the title for this one was a bit odd since it did not really seem to fit the book but that certainly did not detract from my enjoyment.
