A cute and at times heartwarming record of a young woman finding community and a creative voice within the 90s Japanese erotic PC game boom. Admittedly, a lot of my love for this comes from already having an interest in "eroge" history and in JP pop culture history in general, and both are here in loving detail; amidst the lightly funny antics of Alcohol Soft's staff, there are paragraphs of descriptions of what Japan and the games industry was like between 1992-1995, and how events like the bust of the 80s Economic Bubble, the airing of the Evangelion anime, and the release of genre-codifying games defined games and pop culture going forward. Having the input of two artists that worked on PC games during this era certainly helps make the fictional stort feel real even among some of the larger-than-life personalities these characters have. I'd highly recommend this to anyone with a passing interest in 90s game development, and for those who like "slice of life" manga stories.
