Loved the cover- but the book was kinda of meh for me.

description

I will say I liked the concept.
Angels have descended upon our realm in holy terror-snatching up humans from the streets-killing them or dropping them from great heights just to watch them fall to the pavement with glee. However, no one really knows why. Is this the end times?

This is where we meet Julia. A human hiding and living in a dystopian LA- who is out on the hunt for food with her father to help feed their family. Everything is goi

Good, not great! Would of like more and better chemistry between this couple...

Julia - the mortal

Commander - the archangel

When I discover she’s a pawn, I discover something else about her. She may be mortal, but she’s not weak. And I’ll fight to my last shred of power to save her before her sanity—and her life—are torn from me.

Recommends it for: PNR fallen angels
What a fantastic twist to the angel and human mating bond. Milana Jacks hits it out of the ballpark with this phenomenal start to a new and captivating series. In this first installment we meet Julia, a mortal young woman in an apocalyptic version of our present day world where fallen angels are ruthless beings incessantly warring against the world. One of these heavenly delightful and holy hotness being is Michael the archangel. In his quest to win the war against his fallen brother Lucifer he ...more

Alien adventure that will leave you totally captivated
This was a wonderful read; Julia is human and she had been there the day that the Aliens had flown down from the sky and had landed on earth and had started a change that would leave a permanent mark for all time.
Julia was a human mortal and after she had been discovered by the commander as she had been going through the books searching for food to eat, she tried to kill the angel and wakes up to find that she has been transported to a differ

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with few if any typos that I caught. The world building was competent, with the Court of Command coming to vivid life. The characterization was okay, with the heroine and hero not being especially vivid in my mind. The development of the romantic relationship was natural and organic, with a bit of the Fated Mates element. The plot and pacing were tight and exciting, meaning I read the novel in one sitting. There was low angs ...more

In a world devastated by Angels, Julia is faced with a new reality in which she seems to be one of the few who still remembers the World as it was before. In true Milana Jacks fashion, the plot spreads through the series, and I cannot wait for the next installment. What a beautifully constructed world! The Commander exudes power and ruthlessness. I’m still in awe at how powerful, how hard those emotions are. The scenes are vividly constructed in this dystopia romance. Bring more of those Angels, ...more

Loved this, the plot well thought out and compellingly written.

If you like stories of angels this is one for you. The world ends and is remade but mortals have no memory of before the world ends. Those that do remember are killed because the memory opens their mind to Lucifer.

Archangel Michael and Gabriel feature and not as you would imagine.

For an enlightened being Michael learns so much from our mortal heroine.

This is book 1 and looking forward to reading the sequel.

I receieved a free copy of this book via BookSprout for my honest review.

This is a new take on the angel v demon, and mortal with an angel love interest genre. There are many reasons why this isn't just a rehash of all those other tales, and here are just a few.

This story starts with Julia, a regular young woman who's trying to keep herself and her family alive, in a world where angels now roam and destroy everything and everyone in their path.

Next we meet Michael, the Commander of those angels,

I... seem to be in the minority in not particularly liking this book. It kinda felt like a bargain bin version of Susan Ee's Penryn and the End of Days trilogy.

The premise and overall setting had promise, but the relationship (if you can even call it that) between Julia and Michael was troubling. I get that it's supposed to be the "fated lovers/insta-lust" trope, but Julia was given absolutely no choice or say in pretty much anything. AND IT HARDLY BOTHERED HER AT ALL. She was far too willing t

Took me a little bit to figure out what was going on the first couple of chapters, but everything becomes clearer as the story evolves.
Milana can write no wrong in my world. This is just another out of the gate fantastic start to a new series, and I loved it! Angels being my new second love after Hordesmen.

The world has changed and not in a good way depending on your point of view.
Angels have descended to Earth!

I loved this authors other series and was excited to see this new one by her. Overall I really enjoyed this book and I’m very much looking forward to more.

This new book different from her previous work, but worked for me. The world and character building, the storyline and the writing all made for a great read and book.

I did have some expectations when reading, based on past books, that seemed to not be in this book. But I’m not sure I’d call them “missing” and I’m looking forward to more by

In a world gone crazy, where mortals no longer remember the “before” time, angels appear to be the biggest enemy, killing people for an unclear reason. When Julia DeLuca is hunting for food and encounters the ruthless Commander, the Archangel Michael, he doesn’t kill her but transports her to another Medieval type of world. Apparently he saw something different in her that made him curious enough to keep her.

Actually Julia seems to be one of a very few who still remembers the World as it was be

Court of Command wasn't what I had expected. After the Omegaverse aliens, a post-apocalyptic angelic world? Nope. Did it work for me? A little. I wasn't all in, I wanted to be, but I wasn't.

Julia is an anomaly and not in a good way. She remembers everything of before. Those marked by Lucifer have these memories--technically dispatching Julia to hell is the go-to, but her soul has touched another's, and he's not ready to let her go yet. Archangel Michael doesn't want Lucifer to win his mate.

Love when you read a story that from the very beginning makes you lose yourself in it. This author always does that to me she just makes me fall in love with all hers characters. Michael was one hell of an angel he definitely knows how to get his lady. Love every moment of the story and I'm so looking forward to see who will be next to fall from grace.

love the commandhole

This author continues to pull me in with yet another series. January is so far away for the next book. You really do want to hate the commandhole and hope Julia stabs him with something. What is Lucifer up to? She writes an intriguing plot that extends into multiple books thus making me want more!

Wow, I spent the first few chapters trying to piece together what was going on, and I loved it. The storyline was so good, and sucked me right in. Julia was in LA one moment trying to evade the cruel Angels that had taken over, then an Angel stabbed his sword into the ground, and boom, somewhere else entirely. Gotta love a little mystery and suspense. I was all like, wait...what the... Loved it. Michael aka Commandhole (🤣🤣🤣) is the Archangel Michael, one and the same. And let me tell you, he is ...more

Great

First, it's cruel to make us wait until january. So, this book was great. Just loved Michael. Julia wasn't bad either..actually, I liked Julie a lot. Milana creates men that are perfectly in character. Her men don't think like humans (the non human ones that is) i mean, "What a great runner Julia made." Such a perfectly random thought, which given the circumstance was relevant, but it a thought one would usually have at that particular moment. Brilliant. Please give us Sunder as a thanksgiv

Still good just not as sexy

Love all of milana’s work of course! But I got quite used to her hot and steamy sex scenes and relationship development. I felt like both were a little lacking in this one. Still a good read but not my usual read through can’t put it down like I’ve come to expect from Milana.

This was such an interesting read. Weaving angels with apocalyptic tales. Arch angel Michael is not what I expected. Witty, sometimes brutal and with touches of sweet.
It was a quick read and I cannot wait for book 2.

This is a voluntary Advanced Reader Copy review of ‘Court of Command’. If you were expecting this new series to start off like any of her other series, buckle up mere mortal, you are in for a most creatively awesome, totally new adventure. This story had a lot of set-up, as it is the first book in a new series, but WoW! The way the setting is described, the beauty and the dark, the known with a WTF just happened, repeatedly. This was an uber-intense read, that I am totally looking forward to see ...more

Very different from what I typically read but sometimes we need something that’s far from reality. I love the idea of angels and Michael has always been my fave. Looking forward to reading more about his brother Rafael.

Well this was a different take on the ongoing battle between Heaven and Hell. I had to go back to the beginning when it was revealed what was going on. I didn’t understand the from Before killing humanity when supposed to be saving. I’m guessing there is more going on behind the scenes. But it was a good book and I liked it.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

the female mc is strong, badass, and down right hilarious. She definitely doesn't like being told what to do haha. Michael is smoking and their interactions are always the best. I definitely would recommend this book 10/5. The world building is on point, everything is explained perfectly and its all wrapped up neatly with a pretty bow on top. Can't wait for the next one in the series.

Julia, the archangel Michael, the archangel Gabriel all appear in this wonderful story. Milana never fails to grab my attention with her books and I look forward to reading each and every one of them. Her stories are riveting, mesmerizing and full of intrigue. Paranormal at it's best.

Stop and pop the corn

This new world and series starter is everything I have come to expect from this author and so much more. I love how she combined the dystopian environment with the angelic hosts setting them in a battle of good and evil. These new characters are amazing and the depth she was able to get in their emotions and personalities made them feel so realistic. I enjoyed the way we got to see Michael’s character grow and change the closer he got to Julia. The author kept the story movi

premise: awesome, execution: ehh. a whole lot about this felt forced. the romance, the storyline, basically a whole lot. I think it tried to hard to be both romance and fantasy action that is the issue. The romance was very forced/stockholm syndrome like on the girl's part. and non existant on the guys. I get he is from a whole different level but this was straight up abuse and force. sex does not equal romance. Perhaps a bigger plot lies further in the series but not sure if I will read on to f ...more

I love the slow tornado that Milana makes when she builds a new world. Captivating and emotional in so many ways. She makes "what if" really come to life. Ms. Ava Lucas narrating as always has a sultry and honest way of getting into character. she really builds the scenes with the way she delivers the growth of the characters and their growing relationship. very good read. I wish it were longer. Very sexy and disturbing view of the end of times. I think that this will be one of my favorite serie ...more
