Desperately Seeking

Kate never intended the get-over guy to fall in love with her ...
No, Keith was just the lovely fella who was definitely not her type, but would help her feel good about herself while she got over one of the World's Biggest Bastards. However, after the initial shock of hearing herself agree to marry him, Kate reckons that for once she is doing the right thing. A future with a wonderful man who is kind, generous, great in bed, sure to be a model husband and father and who – no mean feat this – can put up with her big mad family, is exactly what she wants.
But is it?
Because whatever her head might be doing, she can't stop her heart pushing her towards the most surprising – and unsuitable – man she could possibly fall for ...

I'm being generous by giving this book two stars and the only reason I'm doing it is because I liked the ending...somewhat. I really did not like this book. I got frustrated with Kate because she was getting involved in these stupid relationships. They were just stupid and I thought she was stupid, too.

Her mother was annoying as were all of her sisters. Keith was about as exciting as watching grass grow. I liked her dad and I did like Mike even though he was part of Kate's problem.

As for the ending, does anybody ever really do that? I'd shoot myself before I ended up with my sister's husband.

I like a good romance and if that's what you want to read, look somewhere past this book. This is chick-lit and there's no romance to it at all.

kate finds herself a rebound guy, whos not her typeat all,but a really nice guy, what she doesn,t expect is for rebound guy to fall for her not part of her plan...an to top it he proposes to her ,he wasmeant to be the one that helped her get over mister worlds biggest loser not be a forever thing.Everythings telling her she could have ahappy life with Keith mr rebound nice all round good guy ,but theirs that all important ingedient missing shes just not in love with him .She finds her feelings lie else where ,with someone whos been around in her life forever ,but is totally out of bounds or is he?A light hearted easy romance ,not a huge page turner ,and didnt really grip me straight away ,it is a first book so i may look out for future books by this author.I felt the ending a little rushed in my opinion.

You know what they say, in order to get over one guy, get yourself under another….

That’s what happened to Kate after her failed relationship with Daniel. Although Keith wasn’t her usual type, Kate found herself dating him. He was a nice, family type man who was also such an amazing lover. She thought he would help her get over a Daniel.

Fast forward a year or so, Keith proposes. Kate accepts it although she feels that something is amiss. Why is she doubting their relationship? Is she truly over Daniel? Can she ever find herself settling down with Keith? Or is there someone else out there for her?

I was looking forward to reading this book & I really wanted to like it. However, the guy she ended up with ---- please, does that even happen these days? I personally wouldn’t go there & I found their relationship weird.

Not hugely entertaining. The second half of the book was better than the first. Kate comes across as quite a weak character and the storyline becomes predictable very fast. Should she marry her boyfriend or find someone better a little closer to home? If that sentence doesn't catch your interest then it's probably not the book for you!

This book was bad. And kinda gross!

**SPOILERS**

I've never included spoilers on a review before but I just can't get over the nasty and pretty unrealistic actions of these characters. The character's sister is married for 15 years to this man, and then she suddenly DISCOVERS that she is in love with her brother-in-law herself?? How do you sleep with the same man your sister has been sleeping with for 15 years??! The scene were she was talking about them having sex... I totally gagged. How disturbing. And the idea that the sister was only very briefly upset about it and then able to be okay with that? Come on. NOT very realistic.
Also, this was supposed to be comedic? There certainly weren't any parts funny enough to cover up the rest of the story.
Ugh. It was so annoying that this idiot protagonist had the same name as me.

This book is like the song Buses and Trains by Bachelor Girl. I know it's 'no good' for me but I was just stuck. And I should be reading something else (a tedious one).

It's a 'bad' love story. I just knew what the end would be but I kept on hoping that in the end Kate would realised Keith was for her.Hah!!!

Really, it was enjoyable. Except for the quite rushed ending -I just don't like it ended up like that. yuck

Although I did manage to finish this book, I did not really like the storyline. I can empathize with Kate in her search for a lasting relationship, but the path she takes to get there is immature, naive and painful. There were many parts of her internal dialogue that I just had to skim over. The story is well written and it is an easy read, just not my "cup of tea".

The book doesn't get any better after the first line, which was pretty funny and reeled me in. As usual for rom-coms, it was predictable who the protagonist would end up with, but the journey to get there was not that fun. Plus, way too many sisters to try and keep up with!

The last third of this book felt incredibly rushed.
