Try to locate the rest of the body, of course.

Or can he?

Enter Inara Woodward—veterinarian, pet psychic and a member of the town's founding family. Nik might be

What happens when two of your favorite authors put their heads and creative hearts together? You get one amazing read filled with crisp, razor-taut writing that seems to make steam rise off the pages!

Arial Burnz and A.J. Nuest are kicking off a new romantic mystery series with PSYCHIC WHISPERS and as if their combined talent isn’t enough, they threw in a D-O-G, a few psychic talents and a twenty-year-old mystery that started with an arm bone. Well, one dog’s treasure is his human’s bone of conte

I grew up on a steady diet of science fiction and fantasy, so anything paranormal is going to have a place close to my heart. Around that same time, I also developed a deep and abiding love for mysteries. As an adult, I’ve thrown myself into the deep end of the romance genre and have happily concluded that romantic suspense is probably my very favorite thing to read. When it has a twist of the fantastical and a dash of humor, I’m happier than a cat in whole garden full of catnip. This story kept ...more

Life in the small town had not been generous for Nikko Sanna and Inara Woodward. Preconceived ideas, intolerance and mistrust had made them prey, leaving them struggling and facing every day with despair. While Inara's scars were showing Nikko's were emotional and deep. He had been tried and convicted all along and doing what he thought was the right thing to do, just relived the neverending nightmare. The dog's discovery of a human bone opened Pandora's box giving way to face their inner demons ...more

I absolutely loved this story! It pulled me in from beginning to end because of the characters. We get to meet Nikko and Inara when he steps in to do the right thing and helps Inara out with a drugged out jerk that won't leave her alone in the bar. It ends up causing repercussions for Nikko as his family has had rumors spread about them for years and years. I loved the connection that Nikko and Inara had from the beginning. When he goes to her for a little help trying to figure out where the new ...more

Psychic Whispers is the first book in the Woodward Hill series and I LOVED IT! This was just the right book at the right time and I fell in love with the characters of this small, gossipy, quirky town.

Inara has the ability to talk to the animals, she even calls herself Dr DoLittle. Unfortunately, before she was old enough to fully understand or use her ability, she was attacked by a pitbull. This left scars, both seen and unseen, that she is determined to work past. Nik has been the 'son gone b

This is the the first of a new series. And what a great start it was. A mystery with a touch of paranormal. The small town of Woodward Hill was easy to fall in love with. Gossip, prejudice, quirks and secrets. Inara has the ability to 'speak' with animals. It definitely helps considering she's a veterinarian. An accident from her childhood has left her scarred. Both physically and emotionally. Nik is the town 'outcast'. His family has been the center o rumors since he and his brother were just b ...more

Nik Sanna is a man who has had to deal with the bad that has passed through his life because of something he had done as a teen and the things his father and mother may or may not have done during their lives. He and his brother Dion have been looked after by the sheriff who was their father's best friend or they thought so but things are definitely not what they seem and the sheriff warns Nik to stay out of trouble and keep his nose out of other folks business, not that Jason Arbor will stay ou ...more

I forgot how much I love a good mystery and when you add in a touch or paranormal? I’m in! The chemistry between Nik and Inara is HOT!, the development of the characters and the flow of the story is Fantastic! I did not want to put this book down…I wanted/needed to know if my guess of “who done it” was correct! This is a fantabulous start of a new paranormal mystery series and I cannot wait for the next book!!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinion

I love this whodunnit mixed with an enchanting new love story. Introduced to Inara and Nik who have to look past societal norms and class system prejudice to find love in the strangest of places not to mention finding out the real truth to Niks long and troubled past. Well done ladies, I can’t wait to see more of them!!!

Wow! This is the first book in a new series which contains everything I like in a book...interesting plot with complex characters, some mystery with a touch of paranormal and a HEA (Happily Ever After). Nikko was the bad boy of Woodward Hill while Inara is the poor girl with scars on her face from a pit bull attack. Inara is now a animal vet who can read the animals' minds while Nik and his brother board animals. Nik is gifted a giant dog who gets away from a fenced in yard taking all the boardi ...more

The storyline is mysterious, intriguing and so exciting, the characters are relatable and likeable and you can’t help but love their story even the upsetting backgrounds that they are trying to overcome. I quite enjoyed this story. It is written well and easy to read and plenty of likeable characters (especially Zedd).
The story starts out with all the charms of small town gossip and morphs in to the main characters trying to solve a mystery.
I liked the introduction of the Woodward family, they seemed like a fun bunch and I hope they each get their own books!!
The main characters are given depth and this makes them more realistic and relatable. Inara was attacked by a dog as a child and now she

Wow! First mystery romance, with a psychic twist, and you ladies blew it away! I absolutely loved this book!
Inara and Nik were amazing main characters, both with scars and fears from the past, in different ways, but still perfect for one another!
I loved Inara is an animal psychic, so her profession was perfect for her. Nik a professional Critter Carer, with a heart for for strays, meant they were supposed to be HEA

Good start to the series

Although the book still needs some editing (missed words or extra words), the storyline was good and I really liked Nik and Inara. Anything with dogs is a bonus!

Nik hasn't had the best life. He just lost his mom, his dad passed away when he was a teen after being questioned about a suspicious death. Although he had an alibi and cleared of any wrongdoing, the family was still treated cruelly by their neighbors and the rest of the town. This led Nik to making poor choices

I loved this book! The twists and turns were interesting and engrossing!!! The plot was woven together in such a way that the mystery and excitement never waned. Nik and Inara were both caring and kind people who had both had many very challenging issues to overcome. I really enjoyed their love story it was passionate and sweet and all the up and downs they had to endure had me so completely involved as if I was right there with them experiencing it too!!! Now that's good autho

Loved it, couldn't put it down, was hooked from line 1 and read into the early hours, I had to find whodunit and wasn't that a surprise. This story has a lot of elements, a girl who can talk to animals meets a man with an undeserved bad reputation when the man's dog brings home a human Benetton the woods. Someone does not want their secrets revealed, there is bigotry, corruption and betrayal, a stalker and a ghost, courage and love. I liked that the main characters all have draws and issues. Great read but niggling issue with the pups

I loved the storyline, the action. The easy way this story kept the narrative moving, But...yes there were typos, it needed editing but I'm beyond all that. What was glaringly obvious was how the dogs were portrayed. I'm psychic myself, and yes the dogs I own talk to me in words and pictures but here's the thing ...they are in BLACK AND WHITE. DOGS DON'T HAVE COLOR CONE RECEPTORS. So there's no way they can see red or purple, or any other color. This i

This first book of this new series immediately takes you in and makes you feel a part of the story. With Nikko and Inara, we learn life love and happiness aren't always easy to have all at once. Which pretty much mimics real life at times. There are parts I was trying to figure out a head of time, some I did and others I didn't. I laughed, sobbed and was kept on the edge of my chair a few times. Everything that I love in a book. I look forward to reading more of the series and learning more in d ...more
