The series gets better with every book! "Murder in the Tower" is excellent. I rarely watch anything - the last thing I watched was the first season of The Witcher because I obsessively read the books growing up - but I would LOVE to see Landon's adventures as a TV series. Especially the last two books, "Murder in the House" and "Murder in the Tower," felt perfect for adaptation.
Another great story featuring Arnold Landon and his friends. It is amazing how a local government officer can become involved in so many murders but they are excellent read s. Looking forward to the next one.
I couldn't put the book down. There was so much happening I didn't know what was going to happen next. And when it did happen, I couldn't believe it. These books keep getting better. Well done Roy.
Interesting story line, lots of twists. Lost treasure brings hope it does it, greed comes to mind. Everything not as it seems. Interesting character is Arnold.
The beat goes on....each one is a gem of information about medieval English history/architecture and murder mysteries sublime. Love this series more and more.
Roy Lewis 's series with Arnold Landon is so enjoyable. I have read all the series in library books over the years and was so happy to find them now as ebooks. Yes, they have changed the titles but that is all, I have so enjoyed buying and re reading them again. It is so funny being set in the 1980s and 90s with no mobile phones to help, only land lines. I love the description Roy uses of the areas, bringing them to life with his imagination. Book seven finished and now waiting eagerly for the next in the series.
A very well researched book with well drawn characters. The descriptions of the northern countryside are accurate and absorbing without being too distracting from the main plot.
