Blaire has a bad attitude. At least that’s what everyone tells her. It could be because it’s days before Halloween, literally the worst holiday on the entire planet. And it doesn’t help that her super-hot ex-boyfriend, Lucas, is determined to convince her otherwise by making her take part in “festive activities.” Apparently carving pumpkins is going to magically change her

What a relief I only have to wait two days for Sarah's new book to come out. I read all three of her books in January, and I honesty don't know what I'll do with myself when I finish the new one. They are my cozy reads. Hope she'll publish the next soon enough.

Yet again, Sutton created an adorable, emotionally-driven novel with lovable characters and fun energy. I haven't read a book that centers on Halloween in a long time, and I definitely haven't read one where the protagonist hates the holiday (for good reason)! While at first it's genuinely hard to figure out why Blaire would've broken up with Lucas, or why she's so miserable during Halloween, little by little the reasons come to light and make her self-protective stances understandable. I really

I absolutely loved this book! Sarah Sutton is such a talented author, and it shows in all of her stories. I read the entire thing in one day because I simply couldn't put it down. And for fans of her other book, Out Of My League, you'll enjoy the little Easter egg when she mentions Bayview.
For starters, it IS the epitome of fall. The way Sarah describes the atmosphere around Hallow brought the entire setting to life. I'm so glad I read it just a week before Halloween.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Blaire hates Halloween. Halloween is a reminder of things she’d rather not remember, a pain she’d rather not experience again. When Blaire and her boyfriend break up, she decides to shut him out of her life. However, he has other plans, like teaming up with her best friend in an attempt to get her to appreciate Halloween. To top things off, a letter arrives for Blaire from the last person she wants to talk to. As her ange ...more

I was kindly given an ARC of this book in an exchange for an honest review (Thank you, Sarah!). 'If the Broom Fits' is such a fun YA romance. I really needed such a book, so it was a perfect choice to start October with Sarah Sutton’s newest book that’s due to be released on 6th October.
'If the Broom Fits' follows Blaire and Lucas as they navigate their painful break up that for Lucas came all of the sudden. There was no warning. Things between him and Blaire seemed perfect… until they weren’t. ...more

This was my first time reading one of Sarah's books and gah, it was ADORABLE! <3 If you love A Cinderella Story starring Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray, you'll love this book, as it has a few of the same vibes and a different but equally swoon-worthy story. I could easily see this becoming a Halloween themed movie on Disney Channel or Hallmark.

I was sent an ARC for an honest review. Blaire Beverly just can't get into the spirit of Halloween, or even autumn for that matter. It's a good thing she has her best friend and (ex) boyfriend insisting on showing her the magic of the season! This was a sweet story of love and loss and healing set in my favorite season! Sutton definitely has that Hallmark grasp (everyone watches Hallmark movies, don't deny it)! I loved the characters, especially Lucas! He's such a sweetheart! This is one of thos

I absolutely LOVEDDD this cute little Halloween romance! It was such an easy read, the pacing was great, the characters were all amazing, especially Donnie as the comic relief. I connected so well with all of the characters and I’m very sad I’m done with it 😭😭 I will definitely be recommending this book to any and everyone!
If The Broom Fits is another great young adult book by Sarah Sutton.
For this book however, I am struggling with actually calling it a romance. Yes, Blaire is struggling with her ex, Lucas. Yes, they clearly will end up back together again. And yes, Lucas makes for a fantastic young man. But, to me, this is more of a coming of age tale, as Blaire has to deal with family issues and her subsequent fears and insecurities. Blaire is dealing with how to handle problems with her father, and how to mov ...more

If you’re looking for a sweet seasonal romance, this is the book for you!
If the Broom Fits was a short read filled with the Halloween spirit, as well as deeper morals about love, loss, and finding your own happiness despite your fears. Mixed with bouts of lighthearted adventures and moments of self reflection, this is a story that I can see people of all ages finding a reason to love.

Sarah Sutton really has her finger on the pulse of fun teen romances. I have to admit that I prefer Out of My League to If the Broom Fits, but I think it's because that was my first read of hers and thus holds a special place in my heart.
In any case, I think what makes If the Broom Fits special is its Halloween theme. Her story wouldn't be the same without the backdrop of corn mazes, pumpkins, and costumes. It was so visceral that I was glad it actually was fall/Halloween so that I could walk o ...more

What do you do when you live in the town of Hallow, a.k.a the capital of Halloween and you hate the holiday?
Synopsis: Blaire’s got to be the only person on the planet who hates Halloween. At least the only person in her small town, which practically worships the holiday. Ugh. And it doesn’t help that her super-hot ex-boyfriend, Lucas, is determined to convince her otherwise by making her take part in “festive activities.” Apparently carving pumpkins and watching scary movies is going to magical ...more

I absolutely adore Sutton's writing style. The only other book I have gotten to read of hers so far is What Are Friends For (I also highly recommend that one!) and If The Broom Fits did not disappoint!
Sutton is very good at creating main characters that really feel like teenagers, sometimes they are infuriating and almost impossible to root for. Blaire is no exception but in the best way. I found myself audibly sp ...more

A Wonderfully Emotional YA Romance
I’m a huge fan of Sarah’s work, and when I saw this book had finally been released, I was ecstatic. So it’s no surprise that I finished her Halloween romance the same day I got it. There’s just something about Sarah and her writing that makes the characters so real and alive, and this book is no different.

Sarah Sutton brings all the swoon in this Halloween YA Romance! I wanted to read this as soon as I purchased it, but held off so I could enjoy all the good Halloween feels leading into the Halloween weekend. Of course, I started reading it a week in advance, thinking I would take a leisurely pace, and finish right before or even on Halloween, but I did not, because I could not put it down.

Wow! If the Broom Fits has to be my favorite book written by Sarah Sutton. If the Broom Fits is about Blaire and Lucas. Blaire hates Halloween and she has a good reason for it or at least she thinks so. However, her super-hot ex- boyfriend decides that he is going to convince that Halloween is not that bad. Blaire has never told anyone the truth of why she hates Halloween, or the truth about her and Lucas’s break up.

I still enjoyed this book even though it isn't quite like Sarah's previous books in terms of romance. If you're looking for all the warm fuzzy romance here like her previous books, you probably won't find it until later in the book.
However, I'd consider this book more like a Halloween drama with a bit of romance. Still a wonderful read but I think the emphasis is focused more on family than romance which I don't mind. I still recommend picking it up to read but wanted to be honest and help set r ...more

I can’t gush about Sarah’s books enough, and IF THE BROOM FITS is no exception! Oh my gosh! I’m all for the super cute holiday romances, whether it’s Halloween or Christmas, and I have yet to find a Halloween romance that turns my heart into a puddle like ITBF did.

I have read plenty of Christmas romance stories, but I've got to say, this is my first Halloween romance coming, and with Halloween coming up, I thought I'd give it a go.

This is one of those cozy, comfy books that make you feel all kinds of warm and special in your belly! I was anticipating a well-presented, Hallmark-movie worthy love story centered around Halloween (instead of Christmas ;)), and this book managed to deliver and surprise me!

Gah I LOVE this book!
Sarah Sutton does it again!
If the Broom Fits follows Blaire as she grapples with unresolved emotions from an event that occurred two years ago that left her hating Halloween.
She’s bitter, conflicted, and I just wanted to reach through my phone to give her a hug. Sarah does an excellent job in crafting genuine characters with personalities that make you want to laugh, cry, and possibly get lost in a cornfield with!

Sarah Sutton did an absolutely amazing job with her 3rd book. I barely noticed that this was a shorter book because it reads just like a longer novel! I can relate so much to Blaire because she a snarky and sarcastic just like me and May or may not have a coffee addiction. There were so many little details I loved in this story from Gran’s costume catering business which sounds so fun and delicious to the different Halloween themed activities they get Blaire to do throughout the story. I also lo

thoughts while reading:
- this is more like a novella than a full novel. there’s pretty much just a single straightforward plot line. so just go into it with those expectations and you’ll be very satisfied with the read!
- there wasn’t as much romance as I had expected in this, since for most of the book blaire and lucas can hardly talk to each other. 60% through and still not sure why she dumped ...more

Heart-wrenching and emotionally-charged, this novella pulled me in right from the beginning. Blaire starts off bitter and withdrawn, but as the story progresses you understand why this is the case. This book doesn't focus too heavily on the romance, but that didn't bother me because the emotional journey was what mattered the most in this story more than anything. There was also a lot of nice emotional tension between Blaire and Lucas throughout which was everything too!! The ending was nice and

I loved, loved, loved, loved this book! The characters were amazing and you could really feel what they feeling and understand where they were coming from. The way the author wrote it was perfect and really made you connect with them. I loved the romance as well and their story was so inspiring and sweet and made me feel so happy. Their chemistry was off the charts but still totally clean. It was cute but also heartfelt and just perfect. The story line had its sad moments but was written perfect

Sarah Sutton has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I typically read less lighthearted topics and her books have been a refresher for me. That behind said this particular book covers a slightly heavier topic and it is done so well. If you like romance, Halloween, and a little touch of the haunted type of sadness this book is perfect!
