Well to be blunt I really wasn’t sure that I would really enjoy this new series but this book took wings and just blew me away. I’m usually more of a paranormal reader so had strong reservations about this very contemporary series but I can honestly say it was a nonstop, exciting story full of twists. Haven our heroine is smart, driven , totally off all men and unfortunately attracts all kinds of weirdos ! Now luckily she also attracts her bosses brother Rhys who is part of a top notch security ...more

Safe and recommended.
This is a hard one to write.

It isn’t often that Anna Hackett has her writerly chops planted firmly on earth but the Norcross series promises that, with hot men in suits—former military, but now running their own businesses, getting involved in several suspense plots along the way. As an RS reader, it’s familiar ground; as a Hackett fan, I had both tingles of excitement and my own personal reservations about it.

But the long and short of it is, ‘The Investigator’ didn’t exactly work out for me,

Rating: 4 stars - really enjoyable

One Sentence Summary: When a multi-million dollar painting is stolen and museum curator Haven McKinney is injured, Investigator Rhys Norcross goes into bodyguard mode and he's determined to keep Haven safe and also make it clear how much he wants her.

THE INVESTIGATOR starts off a new series by Anna Hackett and I enjoyed meeting these new characters. I'm also a big fan of the best friend's sibling trope so that was a nice bonus for me. There wa

Action sequences from start to finish, with some smexy times tossed in here and there, The Investigator kicks off a new series of what I hope will contain a book for each Norcross sibling! While the actual plot didn’t have surprises, (sorry, but you read enough romantic suspense and cliches do occur) the characterization really brought things to life! Individually, each character popped to life and drew me in to their lives, keeping an interesting perspective on what was playing out.

Museum curator Haven McKinney has sworn off men after her last relationship. She loves her new job at the Hutton Museum but when thieves steal a multi-million dollar painting she finds herself right in the middle of a deadly situation. Her boss's brother, Rhys Norcross, is determined to find the painting and protect Haven, no matter what.

It’s always a good day when a new Anna Hackett book comes out, especially if it is the start of a new series. The Investigator was a great start for a new seri
Getting a new Anna Hackett series is just...just...I don't know how to put it. It's glorious. You just KNOW all those strong, mysterious characters are going to be paired up with someone who complements them perfectly. Bonus, you get to meet those strong, mysterious characters for the first time and go a little crazy wondering when they're going to get THEIR book. BLISS!

This time around, we have Rhys and Haven. Haven's still working on finding her feet after her last relationship went south and

The Investigator is a solid introduction to this new, action-packed, contemporary series by Anna Hackett. It's got everything we've come to expect from Ms Hackett's books. A sexy, bada** hero, a strong, feisty heroine, action, bad guys, more action, and sexy times. There's plenty to keep the adrenalin pumping.

I don't think there's been a single hero of Ms Hackett's that I've not loved. Some I love more than others, but generally, I love them all. Rhys is no different. He's sexy, extremely skille

The Investigator
Norcross 1
By: Anna Hackett
Narrated by: Stella Bloom, Teddy Hamilton

With romantic suspense being my favorite of all romance genres, this book pushed all the right buttons for me. My first Anna Hackett book, I was pulled into the Norcross family and had to listen to find out what was going to happen next. Haven's life is slowly falling into place. New job, no men, she is happy being a museum curator until one of the most beautiful and expensive paintings is stolen on her watch. Bl

Explosively awesome!

This action-packed, ultimately feel good, story is a full throttled start to a new series packed to the brim with badasses! With memorable, highly entertaining characters, scorching chemistry, and a plot that captivates, this book kept me engaged and eager for more. I cannot wait for the next book!

I love all Anna Hackett's books, but this one didn't work that well for me unfortunately. The heroine didn't make the best choices and got captured again and again and again, to the point I was rolling my eyes. Unlike many of Anna's heroines, she didn't fight back much, and her backstory with her ex was glossed over. The hero was kind of a jerk for much of the book, too. He's not very understanding toward her at first, and at one point he got really angry at her in a way that seemed like a big r ...more

First in a new series by Anna Hackett, the Norcross series is a slight spin-off from the Team 52 series, although you do not need to have read the latter before reading this one!
Haven works at an art gallery, Rhys is her boss’ brother, and head investigator for their other brother’s security firm.
When one of their paintings is stolen, Rhys and his brother start to investigate.
When Haven ends up being more involved than any of them realise, Rhys decides to make his move on her.

Ok start to a new series. I devour Anna Hackett's books - I highly recommend the Galactic Gladiators, Team 52 & Eon Warriors series but struggled with this book, not really sure why. To be fair an ok Anna Hackett book is still better than most other authors.

Haven moved to San Francisco after a bad breakup and has a job she loves, a good boss and a a new bestie who comes with a hottie brother she desperately avoids at every turn. When thieves rob the gallery, Rhys seizes the opportunity stay clos

Which does not begin with Vander’s romance. Instead we have his younger brother Rhys on the trail of a bunch of seriously high-end ar

I enjoyed this book immensely, it is a great, action packed romantic suspense. The story drew me right in, grabbing my attention and captivating it straight to the end. Haven moved from Miami to San Francisco to get away from her slimy, abusive ex. She is not about to go down that hole again. Does she daydream slightly over her new bestie's brother? Well, she'd be dead if she didn't admit he revved her engine. But that's how she got into trouble last time, mixing business with pleasure. Added wrinkle, her fantasy man is also her BOSS' brother.

But fate is being fickle again and what Haven NEEDS may not be what she WANTS to admit to. Haven has become a ...well,

Haven McKinney is the curator at the Hutton Museum in San Francisco, which is owned by Easton Norcross. The lone Norcross female sibling is Haven’s best friend, Gia. The museum has recently acquired Monet’s Water Lillies, and Haven has created an exhibit around it, which is creating buzz. Rhys Norcross is Easton’s younger brother, and he has been attracted to Haven ever since he first met her. However, because of a bad relationship in her past, Haven has been avoiding Rhys, because she

The Investigator is the 1st book in a new series by Anna. After reading this book, I can tell that the Norcross series is going to be awesome, just like her other series. It is different from her other books though, because there is no sci-fi or world traveling adventures. However, you still get a fast paced action romance with lots of hot ex military guys and strong women.

In this book Haven works for an art museum in San Francisco. She left Miami and moved across the country a few months before

(audiobook) It wasn’t the book of the year, but damn it was entertaining! Especially as an audiobook, as both narrators are extremely talented and bring life to the characters. I loved it.

The suspense part of the story was gripping, with multiple twists and turns. I’d have liked to see more about the investigation–since it’s in the title–but I was never bored. There’s a lot of action and, for once, it doesn’t come only from the male characters.

Haven, even as a typical damsel in distress, isn’t w

The Investigator is the first in the new Norcross series by Anna Hackett. Haven McKinney is a lady with a past, a past she wants to stay in the past. She left Miami behind and moved from the east coast to the west coast to San Francisco. She has her dream job at the Hutton Museum as curator. She loves the museum, loves her position and loves the art she displays and the new friends she has acquired. Her happiness is shattered when a daring robbery takes place as the museum is closing for the day ...more

Another fantastic start to a new series! I enjoy just about everything AH writes, and this is no exception. 4.5 stars from me. Great characters overcoming some odds, exciting action, hot sex, and valiant men. In other words romantic suspense, that is well written and engaging.

I am, however, just a tiny bit frustrated because her series are becoming more and more formulaic - which makes it easier for her to write, I'm sure, but it's very much making her books a little repetitious. Hence removing

You know it's gonna be interesting when it starts with: "There was a glass of chardonnay with her name on it waiting at home." The Investigator by Anna Hackett takes a more realistic (but just as awesome) path than her other sci-fi/romance books. In the book we meet Haven, a museum curator and the secret lust of her life Rhys Norcross, ex-military, and top investigator in the sexy Norcross brother trio. Haven is trying to keep away from Rhys because 1) she has sworn off men 2) he's her best frie ...more

What a thrilling and steamy start to the Norcross series. The Investigator is a great combination of romance, suspense and mystery. Unfortunately, she can't ignore the sparks that fly between her and their sexy ex military brother and hotshot investigator, Rhys Norcross. That is until a robbery happens, an ...more

I LOVED this one!! The story is exciting and filled with danger. The bond these characters have for one another is what I only dream of having. I couldn’t get enough of them. The connection these two main characters have can be felt coming off the pages.

Haven is very resistant to a relationship and I loved it. She is a smart girl who we find is feisty, when needed. Per her problem of being a kidnap victim...repeatedly, she gets drawn into this family of alpha protective men and one sassy sister

Trying not 'to stumble again and on the same stone' curator Haven McKinney was avoiding her boss's sexy brother. It only took a robbery at the Hutton Museum for her well-guarded little heart to open wide as she struggled with her doubts and mistrust. Strong-willed and decided, Haven was dragged into what seemed a strange, worrying and threatening adventure but, she was up to the challenge. Sure she was the one, Rhys had been seeking a chance with Haven but little he knew danger was lying in wait ...more

I adore Anna’s work, I really do. Original plot lines, always good action, great characters and so on. But. Recently I have been very bored with her books. They all follow the exact same recipe. A resistant hero or heroine, something bad happens, one or the other has to protect the other, then the other person always refuses to stay put and let the other person handle it. Then they argue, then the big bad show’s up, and don’t you know the person with the least amount of experience rushes in head ...more
