Dear Internet: Am I a horrible person for wanting to sabotage my work assignment—completely wreck a dating contest—because I hate the idea of love?

I know it sounds bad, but just hear me out, okay?

I (33F) work at a local paper, and two months ago, my editor assigned me a huge project—run the upcoming, highly anticipated Bachelor Anonymous contest.

In essence, I’m supposed to

Holley and Jake.

Holley is a writer for a San Diego newspaper and her boss just gave her a new job. One she hates! To write about the Bachelor thingy the newspaper is running. Holley! She hates romance and love and everything! She's just come out of a decade long relationship - having been cheated on - and she does not want anything to do with romance!

But here we are.

And here is Jake too. Unwillingly. Poor guy.

He's a 40 year old single dad of 17 year old Chloe. Who thinks her dad needs someone by

I have the biggest freaking smile on my face. It feels as if my cheeks are permanently in the huge smile position. It’s been awhile since a romcom has kept me so entertained. It felt as if no time passed, I was on chapter one one minute and then next, poof, I had already reached the end. I found myself clicking and hoping by some miracle that more chapters would magically appear. I LOVED THIS BOOK!

Holley was a breath of fresh air. I loved her quirkinesses and all her weirdness. Both made her th
FIVE JULIET STARS for Holley and Jake 💜💛💙🖤!!!

Although I don’t read rom-com books too often, from time to time I like to take a break from reading dark romance books and always opt for one of Max Monroe’s books.

With Max and Monroe books, you can never go wrong when you want not only take a break from the usual genre you read but also from everyday responsibilities.

Max and Monroe have a perfect writing style that is not only easy and fast to read but it can make you laugh to tears and brigh

A romantic comedy that gave me the feels and had me laughing out loud. This author duo always makes me smile and they leave me with a happy heart.

Jake’s been selected as Bachelor Annonymous for a contest in the local paper, unbeknownst to him. His seventeen year old daughter decided to help him find his perfect match.

Jake is a former Navy Seal and now works in construction. He’s gorgeous, fit and a really great guy. He’s the best dad to boot. He never imagined getting back into dating because of

Jake may just be the swooniest Max Monroe hero to date and add in he is a single dad, yep you can’t help but love him.

The moment I started this story I was hooked and continued to fall more in love with the story as it continued. Jake’s daughter, Chloe, doesn’t want her father to be alone so she submits a personal ad for a contest without his knowledge and from there things take off.

Jake is a former Navy Seal, a business owner, and a single father. He goes above and beyond to provide and take

An enjoyable read but wanted more.

I love Max Monroe’s writing. A fan of so many of their books but I have mixed feelings about this one.

I wish there was more time spent on both Holley and Jake’s past. Also wanted Holley and Jake to have more than a one-sentence conversation about her ex-boyfriend. Especially since there are a number of scenes were Jake wonders what brings the hurt and pain to Holley’s eyes.

This book is low on the steam level. They do have tender and intimate

This book was not my favorite by Max Monroe. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed it and it left a smile on my face, but the first half was hard for me to get through. I kept finding myself putting it down to do other things. Some of the humor felt forced and I get it, Holley is clumsy but some scenes I rolled my eyes. Also, some details were glossed over, like her mom dying of breast cancer when she was young? Like whoah, let’s circle back and maybe tie that to the fact that Chloe’s mom died too ...more

This book was all kinds of fun, smexy, awkward goodness that had me grinning like a fool with each turn of the page and falling further into adoration with all the characters and wanting more when it was all over.

I adored Jake and Holley. Jake is all kinds of book boyfriend goodness. Sweet, funny, charismatic and compassionate. I loved his sense of humor and how protective he was of those he called his own. Holley is a fiery little ball of determined awkward goo
Ah, a delightful romcom that was as charming as it was entertaining. I enjoyed this book very much, it was a quick and immersive read. The characters were cute in their uniqueness and I found myself sad when the book was over! Jake and Holley were engaging and fun and the antics in this book made me laugh, although I did wish we could have gotten even more from certain parts of the story...the ending did wrap a bit quick.

I received an ARC of this book from the authors in exchange for an honest r

Single Dad Seeks Juliet is a swoon worthy, single father romance. I really enjoyed most of this book. My only qualm is the sexy bit was short and I couldn’t really tell what happened. I loved the characters. I’m sure we will get more set in this world. Loved this quote.

“I set my fork down and settle my hand into my chest, no doubt in an attempt to stop the newly awakened flutter under my ribs. Goodness gracious, single dads—good ones—really do have a hotness about them that’s unmatched. I think

Single Dad Seeks Juliet is basically Sleepless in Seattle meets The Bachelor. It was fun, entertaining, swoon worthy with a wonderful cast of characters. It begins with Jake’s 17-year-old daughter, Chloe, entering him into a local paper’s Bachelor Anonymous contest without his knowledge. Holley is a journalist who is assigned this column through the paper. She is reluctant at best to do this, as she has recently ended a 10 year relationship and is not a big believer in love right no

I love a swoony hero, and single dad Jake might just be the swooniest I've read in a long time. This is low angst delight, with a slow burn romance that will have you wrapped up in the story. I loved the connection between these two, and the light, fun tone of the book makes it easy to devour. If you're worried about the dating contest storyline, don't be - think of it instead as a unique meet cute that gives this romance a fresh feel. It's not bogged down by OW drama or love triangles or anythi ...more

5 delightful stars!

Single Dad Seeks Juliet is my new favorite from Max Monroe. Jake and Holley’s love story is an absolutely adorable, carefree, smile inducing read, and I couldn’t put it down.

When Jake gets selected to be part of the Bachelor Anonymous contest, it’s up to Holley, the woman in charge, to help find him love. It should be easy since he’s a super hot, super sweet, super smart single dad to swoon over; however, when Holley starts having feelings for this off-limits guy, things get c

3.5 stars. This was a cute, Hallmark movie type of book. Single Dad seeks Juliet is a standalone book and it Jake and Holley's story. Holley is a newspaper writer. Jake is a single dad with his own construction company. Jake's teenage daughter enters him in the newspaper's Bachelor contest and he wins, before he knows he's even entered. He isn't interested in dating as he has been focused on raising his daughter, but she is heading to college soon and wants to see him settled and happy. So he ac ...more

Jake is everything you could want in a man and more. He is an ex-Navy SEAL, a single father who is devoted to his daughter Chloe and is focused on his business. He isn’t looking for love or a relationship, but that decision is taken out of his hands when his daughter not only signs him up for a bachelor contest, but he emerges the victor.

After the way that her last relationship ended love or men is the last thing that Holley wants in her life so being responsible for the contest is a burden she

I love a single parent romance, but I wasn’t crazy about this one. It had potential....but fell flat for me.

Here are some reasons why:

Their first kiss and first time having sex happens at 78%. The scene is very brief. We wait so long and it ended up anti-climatic. Usually these authors are generous with the sexy times. Not in this book.

The hero is dating other women the entire book. During one date the woman kisses him. But don’t worry, he doesn’t kiss her back 🙄. I wish these 5 date

This is a slow burn friends to lovers romance, and I absolutely adored it.

Holley and Jake have a fabulous first meeting, the kind you love to read about in books while remaining incredibly glad it didn't happen to you in real life. Incredibly glad.

And then there is a friendship between them that is formed int he most authentic of ways, as sometimes being stuck in something you want nothing to do with is the greatest way to form a bond with someone.

But Chloe, his daughter, believes that her father needs someone in his life, especially when she goes off to college. So she signs him up as a Bachelor for the local paper and when Holley Fields meets Jake to prepare him for his role as the Bachelor, things start to get really interesting. For both of them.

Single Dad Seeks Juliet is Max Monroe's newest stand-alone book. I don't think we have seen any of the characters in another MM book, but you will see Jake, Holley, maybe Chloe and hopefully, Holley's stand in another book. I will not say whose because it will be a (minor) spoiler, although I will say that I am looking forward to it.

Here is what you need to know about the book. Jake's daughter Chloe is about to leave for college and she doesn't want her father to be alone for the rest of his li

This book is easily one of my favorite books this year! It has everything you expect from a Max Monroe book including great writing, amazing characters, laugh out loud humor and of course an amazing storyline. Single Dad Seeks Juliet had me turning the pages so fast that I was sad it was over so soon (However you will be thrilled with the ending!). I wanted to continue reading about these wonderful characters and what life has in store for them next. If the ending credits have anything to say, I ...more

This writing duo never fails to bring a smile to my face, and from the start I was invested in the storyline. How could you not love the teenager that was meddling in her father's life to make sure he found the love he deserved? And Jake was by far the swooniest hero these ladies have ever written!! He was such a devoted father who went above and beyond to make sure Chloe (his daughter) felt all the love he had for her, plus he is a straight up GENTLEMAN, which is a rarity in romances these days ...more

Holley's really not in the right frame of mind to running her paper's Bachelor Anonymous contest. Someone whose relationship of a decade just ending because of cheating is really the last person to help another find love. But when she meets the very reluctant bachelor and somehow bonds with him and his adorable teenage daughter, she just may be rethinking her aversion to love and relationships.

Oh God, Max Monroe has done it again - the laughs, the wit, the absolutely

Well, it seems that the talented romcom-writing duo, Max Monroe, has kicked off what promises to be another must-read series with Single Dad Seeks Juliet—or, at least, I hope they have. I have to be honest, there hasn’t been a single book these two have written that I haven’t enjoyed. Their stories are romcom gold – the trifecta of story and steam with the kind of humor that skirts the edge of ridiculous – and I am here for every single word of them. Endearingly genuine and relatable

Single Dad Seeks Juliet is another fabulous feel good romance by the writing duo Max Monroe. I just adore single dads and Jake rocks it. He’s a former navy seal who loves the great outdoors, owns his own construction company so he’s hot and handy, and just a wonderful father to his adorable 17-year-old daughter, Chloe.

This book had me engaged from page one when his daughter plotted with her friend and entered him into a dating contest sponsored by the very newspaper that our hardworking, newly

I don’t think there’s been any other female lead that Max Monroe has written that could be my spirit animal more than Holley. Granted, I’ve always loved how MM writes their females. All of them can more than stand up for themselves and handle pretty much whatever comes their way. But Holley is just everything I’d ever hope to be when I grow up (*Reviewer’s note: I’m a good decade+ older than Holley). She’s independent,

Oh, god, I don't know how to break it to Thatcher Kelly or Caplin Hawkins, but I definitely have a new favorite Max Monroe hero, and it is Jake Brent. Single dad, former Navy Seal, current owner of his own high-end construction business, father of the amazingly confident Chloe, and perfect mate to our endearing, lovable, somewhat fumbling Holley.

From start to finish, this was such a FUN, purely-enjoyable read, filled with so much heart and emotion. It makes me glad that Jake had such a meddlesom
