My thanks to Bookoutre, Karen King and Netgalley.
I hated this book!
That's not to say that I didn't gobble it up, because I did.
I'm the idiot that who read a review that mentioned a twist! I should know better! Even my favorite squirrel, Doodle bug-McSquirrely Britches, would have said give it a pass!
I will say that it was a well written story. I'd even read more from this author of she could up her game.
Sad truth is that there isn't a twist. Maybe a slight curve?

Think about your douchebag husband you plan to leave who has real anger management issues nearly dies at a car accident, opening his eyes with an erased memory, giving you angelic looks as if your volatile arguments and screaming matches have never been happened!

Would you decide to leave his sorry ass because once a controlling abuser is always an abuser even though he suffers from short term memory loss or would you give it a chance to your marriage to have a fresh start?

My Review:

This is the type of story that has me wanting the shake sense into the characters and give them a good pinch for being so obtuse they annoy me. The women knew better, yet they still fell repeatedly for the Irish charm. The intriguing storylines were twisty, well-paced, and taut with impending peril, domestic abuse, family drama, lies, betrayals, and secrets aplenty. Thi

If I had a quarter for every sentence in this book that ends with a question mark, I swear I'd have enough money to replace the roof on our house. Good grief!

Both Freya and her husband of a couple of years, Phil, are facing uncertainties; for personal reasons, Freya has made the decision to leave Phil - or so she says in the beginning. But then Phil is seriously injured in an auto accident that's left him with no memory of anything prior to the return from what he recalls as a happy honeymoon. A

This was a great psychological thriller which put me on a rollicking ride from the beginning to end. Author Karen King’s writing kept in smooth in its pace and convoluted in its plotlines, where I was in a conundrum about who was telling me the truth.

A dream marriage broken by violence, Freya had had enough. She’d packed her bags and was about to leave when the cops visited her. Her husband had been in an accident and was critical.

In the hospital, she barely had time to make a tough decision whe

The Stranger in my Bed is an engrossing and gripping page turner that took me on one emotional rollercoaster ride. The plot is one that caught my attention immediately and has been very well put together and executed. It is thought provoking, with you asking yourself the question, what would you do if you found yourself in the same situation.

The characters are well rounded, developed and written well. The story is narrated in the main from the points of view of Freya and Phil giving the reader a

This is a great read. The plot twists and turns and keeps you guessing right until the last page. Not only is this an engrossing thriller, but it's a good exploration of what it means to be in a violent relationship. I will definitely read this author again.

They had a tumultuous marriage and Phil had a horrible car accident the night Freya had enough of Phil's abuse and decided to leave him, Then there was a terrible turn to Freya's situation, What should she do now? Should she stay or leave? I'm not sure what I would have done but I couldn't read fast enough to see what unfolds. There are twists that will leave you wondering what is really going on? Thank you Net Galley for granting me this book in return for an honest review. I do not want to give the story away - it’s covered in the synopsis but I would say this is the first book I have read by this author and enjoyed it immensely. I loved the style of writing how it covered the different characters and their feelings and from page one was hooked by the drama within.

I did not want to put it down and could not wait for the next chapter totally absorbing and would highly recommend.

Karen King’s debut psychological thriller, The Stranger In My Bed, to be published November 23, 2020, explores the darker side of relationships. Cleverly told from multiple points of view, the expertly woven storyline keeps readers guessing which partner is the abusive one and which partner is in danger. Told gently, as only an accomplished children’s writer could do, King’s thriller highlights the complexity of abusive relationships and why many victims choose to remain.

Great title,
Attractive blurb
Predictable plot, not immersive much for me.
I kept DNFing it and finally gave in to DNFing it after 55%, nothing much happens, tad bit repetitive.
It is an okay read which can be overlooked if you are looking for an adrenaline filled, rollercoaster of a book which twists your mind and keeps you guessing.

In the beginning, the story was really slow paced. We get to meet Freya and her side of a story, but in the middle of a book everything changes.
I loved how we get to know the story of almost every character included.
I admit, I was bored about 60% into the book, but then everything became more twisty and interesting. And the end - omg!

Thanks to NetGalley and to the publisher for the ARC, which I received in exchange for my honest review. The Stranger in My Bed is a domestic thriller with a very interesting premise. Freya has been married to Phil for two years, when he is involved in a serious auto crash that leaves him with amnesia. The reality of marriage proved to be quite different however, as Phil was an adulterous and abusive control freak. ...more

Thank you to Karen King and Netgalley for this ARC

This was a really good story, I enjoyed the new concept of the crash causing amnesia on the guilty party and his wife deciding to change him.

I thought there was suitable intrigue and mystery. What was missing for me was "thriller" aspects.
I didn't sense a twist and in essence there wasn't really one, I didn't feel like any action happened or the pace quickened.

It was a very tame thriller but very enjoyable all the same.

Phil and Freya Keegan have been married for two years when a car accident wipes Phil’s memory of the last two years – their entire marriage. To him, he and Freya are much in love and have just returned from their honeymoon to start married life. For Freya, the reality is that she is now at a crossroads. Their marriage was toxic. Holy Hell! What did I just read. This was amazing!

When Freya gets a visit from the police informing her that her husband, Phil, has been in a car accident and is in a coma, Freya rushes to his side. But, is Freya making the right decision to stand by her husband when he wakes up with amnesia, not remembering the two years they have been married? Is Freya taking a chance with an abusive husband hoping things will turn out differently? Or is Phil really the abusive husband Freya claims him to be?

Appearances are not always what they seem. Phil and Freya Keegan are the idyllic married couple. They have a nice house with a charming yard befitting Phil's handsome looks and Freya's stunning figure. From all appearances, they have the perfect marriage. But when Phil is involved in an "supposed" accident that nearly costs him his life, we find that their idyllic marriage isn't that idyllic after all; and that perhaps Phill wasn't the best person to be married to.

When he awakes from his coma, he has lost the memories of his married life to Freya, he remembers all his life up until he steps of the plane after their honeymoon. We find out that the accident was no accident.

And a short stroll would do Phil good, as would a chat with Tom, thought Freya, although she wished he’d arranged the meeting for tomorrow so that she could have some peace to work with him out of the house. She was finding it increasingly difficult to work from home. Phil was constantly interrupting her and she was beginning to feel claustrophobic being in the house with him most days, but he insisted that he felt too vulnerable for her to return to working in the office all week.” 0 likes
