Clementine's adventures continue in Demolition Premonition.
Clementine Cooke has a lot of stuff to figure out. Not only has Malene dropped a bombshell of a reveal, but Clem is also processing her feelings for Rufus, who is bound and determined to make her a Spellhunter.
But when a new home designer moves into town, she starts stealing all of Clem's clients. Clem is ticked, and rightfully so. Things heat up in Peachwood when the interloper is found murdered and of course, Clem is the primary suspect.
Can Clem clear her name, accept Malene's new role in her life, and finally tell Rufus the truth? Or will she fall short in more ways than one and find herself at the mercy of the Peachwood murderer?
Hey, I’m Amy, I write books for folks who crave laugh-out-loud paranormal mysteries. I help bring humor into readers’ lives. I’ve got a Pharm D in pharmacy, a BA in Creative Writing and a Masters in Life. And when I’m not writing or chasing around two small children (one of which is four going on thirteen), I can be found antique shopping for a great deal, getting my roots touched up (because that’s an every four week job) and figuring out when I can get back to Disney World. If you’re dying to know more about my wacky life, here are three things you don’t know about me. —In college I spent a semester at Marvel Comics working in the X-Men office. —I worked at Carnegie Hall. —I grew up in a barbecue restaurant—literally. My parents owned one. If you want to reach out to me—and I love to hear from readers—you can email me at amyboylesauthor@gmail.com. Happy reading!
Well, Clem finds her way in the middle of another murder and she still hasn't found the courage to tell John he is Rufus....
Clem has recently found out Malene is her grandmother and she is working on forgiving her for hiding it from her and getting to know her. Meanwhile, Male he has stopped using her old disguises and is out running around like the "hip" grandmother she really is. But, that Malene is still holding on to some secrets. Clem is bidding a design and remodel job for Dooley's daughter but, Crystal Darsey has been given the offer to bid on the job as well. Clem ends up getting the remodel and design but it causes bad blood between Crystal and herself. Soon, it will be the race to clear her name and find a killer after Crystal ends up dead. Clem still hasn't told John what she knows about his true identity yet or that she has found the spell he has been painstakingly looking for (and hidden it from him). This book is great, picks up exactly where it left off, keeps adding more layers go all the characters and to Clem's life and family. All the characters are fun and interesting and the storyline grabs whole of you and keeps you there devouring the book. I highly recommend this book and serious and am so excited to read the next one!
Book three of the Magical Renovation Mystery series is filled with surprises, or maybe I should say uncovering of truths. So many things you once thought are about to be turned upside down in this book - and have you on the edge of your seat for book four!
To start with we learn that Malene is in reality Clem's grandmother - which opens a whole new set of issues. To begin with she is mad at Malene, but then when she thinks about the secret she is keeping from John she realizes she can't be too mad. Then a former resident of town is back and all set to take Clem's business away from her until Crystal ends up dead - and of course we all know the sheriff hasn't a clue and is bound and determined to arrest Clem for it no matter what. Good thing Clem and the grannies are ready to work this out themselves.
Other family secrets are revealed in this book and the final secret - yep, Clem finally gets the courage or is kinda forced into telling John her secrets about him!! Oh I can't wait to find out how he takes it and what happens next!! Maybe then I can figure out where is series fits with the Sweet Tea Witches series.
This is an entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Clementine Cook is a witch in a small town and only recently began to show signs of magic after many years. She moved in this town a few years back to get away from magic because something happened to her. She began a home renovation business with a friend and for a few years everything was going fine. Then certain things began to happen and many secrets began to come out about the town about her about other people. Along with all this she ends up solving crimes because the local police chief is a buffoon and cannot find a golf ball in a bucket of golf balls. So redone and follow the adventures of Clementine and her talking dog and her friends.
I didn't feel like much happened in this book. Yes, there were reveals, but the story was weak. It might have been more interesting if Crystal wasn't the victim and became an interesting antagonist... There seem to be so many possibilities and yet I got to the end and felt let down... not by the cliffhanger... or not just that, anyone who reads could see that coming. I like the characters and the idea of the town and how magic works, but won't keep reading if the stories don't get considerably stronger... I knew who the murderer was after the first interview with that person, and I never suspected the person who the main character suspects...
Oh, my goodness, are you kidding me?! How many times can Clem be prevented from the big reveal to "John?" There are entirely too many secrets in Clem's family and now there's a murder to solve with a widely hated victim. The murderer was obvious from the moment of introduction, and the story wasn't as enjoyable as usual from this author; the silly secrecy was off-putting to this reader. The ending, though...!
Wow! Another fantastic page-turner that grabbed me from the start! With a fresh new storyline, some of the same quirky & some other relatable characters, including the heroine Clementine with twists & turns that will keep you guessing! ... I was fortunate to read this thru my Kindle Unlimited trial & highly recommend this to all fans of fiction, especially cozy mystery lovers, and PNR lovers & is clean for teens & YA. Now I’m on to the next book #4 & can’t wait :D
This read left us on a cliffhanger and I’m as curious as all get out to see how Clem pulls out of it to not make it seem she’s a jerk for withholding the spell she’s kept for several weeks. Another person in town has his own secret keep from Clem, but only power her friend’s request. This secret is revealed toward the end of the book in crying eyes.
I can’t wait to see what book 4, “Witcher Upper Christmas” holds! Bonus is that it’s Christmas, which I love.
Demolition Premonition (Magical Renovation Mysteries book 3)
This was another winner. I highly recommend all her books and different series. She writes a great paranormal mystery book. Amy has a great imagination and writes wonderful character you would like to meet. Diana Romano
It was pure hell watching the mc almost tell her “friend” the truth. Over and over and over and you just knew it would blow up. And her amateur sleuthing skills are all impulse and no intuition, making me nuts. But i do like most of the characters, aside from Clem, but she has plenty or room for growth. And the plots have been decent. So i’ll keep reading.
A.good addition to this storyline. The plot and subplots move quickly. The characters are well developed and the conversations flow naturally. A lot was revealed and I look forward to the next book!
Geez Louise! This was a doozy! Loved every second of reading! There is so much to learn about in this story. Secrets and curves and just a whole lot of action. But...I need the next one! PLEASE!
Amy Boyles never disappoints with her books. This was another excellent mystery with quirky characters and a great plot. Boyles is one of the best on the cozy paranormal genre.
I love all of Amy's series! Clem is slowly finding out who she is. Sprinkle in a murder and some renovations and you've got a great story!! The ending is a cliffhanger you won't want to miss... The wait will be hard!
I can't get enough of Amy Boyles' books....they just keep getting better. Can't wait for Witcher Upper Christmas to come out....Dec 13th just isn't soon enough!
Just like the first two books, I couldn’t put this one down. Had me on the edge of my seat until the very end. Have already put in my preorder for the next installment due to come out in December. Will have a hard time waiting for it to arrive.
The characters are funny and interesting. I like the development of the relationships and how the backstory for each character is revealed a bit at a time. The crime solving is basic but not bad.
The cat is out of the bag, so to speak, about a lot of things! I can't wait to read what happens next. Thanks Amy Boyles for finally giving Rufus a story and potential love of his own.
This'll is amazing!! I have really enjoyed reading this series and I can't wait to continue it! Besides who doesn't love a sassy talking dog. What are you waiting for!
Can this author write a book that does not have a cliff hanger. Was it suggested to her that this is the only way to get repeat readers? I prefer when an author writes a story that doesn’t leave me questioning why I spent money and time for no reason
Demolition Premonition is filled with things falling apart..relationships, secrets, and trust. Clementine learns more about herself and her family while trying to get out of trouble. A fun read!
How can you do this to me?? No!! That ending! Gobsmacked I am. Another great story moving along Clem and Rufus' tale but dang it, really?!?! Next book, ASAP!
