Just when I was destined to start a new life, a new beginning, with Korin.

Beautiful

Sweet

Endearingly awkward Korin.

Nathan, my loathsome ex-boyfriend, just stomped all over my happily ever after.

Exes are exes for a reason, they say. They belong in the past. Yeah… Try telling that to Nathan Hanway. He has quite literally put me in a place I’d rather not be.

A high-security fac

My Review

I was intrigued by the first book it was interesting and captured my attention.
This one not so much and unfortunately this didn’t really work for me.

I’m not sure what actually happened here but this felt like a totally different story than what I was actually expecting to get.

So before I get into the reasons I struggled here I just wanted to state that the writing itself with this was fine, it was the story direction and scenarios themselves that were the problem for me.
Hence this might not be a

3.5 stars,
I like the idea of the prologue. It is new to me and it caught my attention easily.

I still like how the writing style flows. It makes the story easy to read.

I am not here for the romance as I said in book1 but the plot was interesting enough for me to continue and this time (view spoiler)

I was between no I don't like the MC or maybe she was descending into madness so I shouldn't judge h

The new beginning of Natalia’s life became a nightmare. With Korin gone, she wakes up in an unknown place where she was imprisoned. It could not get worst, right? Well, it all was planned by her ex-boyfriend Nathan, who was the reason for all her problems in life. Now, she is under his control once again without any way out. In this high-secure facility, she is forced to endure the impossible tasks that could kill her. She fights her way through for her baby. She’s running out of time, but she i ...more

I have always been a fan of sci-fi reads and this book combines that with romance, dark dealings from an ex and personal strength. It is written well and is definitely enjoyable, from start to finish.

I loved really getting to know the main character, and more about the changes she embraced, for their relationship and future. She learns, throughout the book, just how much those changes can’t do for her, and what she can now do on her own strength. This makes it the ultimate woman being her own h

First off I want to apologize to the author for not reviewing the book sooner, I have having some technical difficulties.

Now with that being said, Holy cow!

I knew that as soon as I finished the first book I wanted more. And not did Alice ever deliver! There were so many twists that I didn't see coming.

Korin, Nathan, her father, and the baby! Man I couldn't take my eyes off of the pages wanting to read it as fast as possible to know what's going to happen next.

Definitely recommend to anyone who w

3.5 STARS

In this second book of the series, Natalia has been remanded to a high security, underground secret government facility by her whack job ex-boyfriend, Nathan. Her alien lover, Korin, is imprisoned on one of his government’s spaceship currently orbiting Earth. Natalia is subjected to experiments, abuse, neglect, and a whole lot of new information about her situation. Korin had changed her DNA to transform Natalia so she could go live on his home planet before their plans were thwarted by

Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of MILLION MILES OFF (Book 2 of the Million Miles Series) by Alice Bane in exchange for an honest review. This story picks up where MILLION MILES AWAY ended. Natalia and her alien lover Korin have been arrested and separated. Natalia is being held, tested, and tortured in an underground facility run by her evil ex-boyfriend Nathan while Korin is being held and is awaiting trial in space by his own people. All of their hopes for the future have been dashe ...more

I vaguely remember this story. I last read it in October 2019. A year ago. I had a hard time remembering some details. I wish their was some nuggets. I finally pieced some parts together. I had really enjoyed the story. It was very angsty. The heroine was once again so naive and yes stupid. Their was so many disheartening failures that made me want to crawl in a corner and suck my thumb. She was fascinating as she developed. I feel like she’s a Sarah Connor.
I loved that movie. I was somewhat un

As I thought the first book was fine, I decided to give the sequel a go. The language is a bit much for me, and I wasn't as keen on the astral projection elements of the book, but for most sci-fi fans, this probably won't be a problem. Other than those concerns, not a bad story (and the surprise at the end is rather nice). ...more
