This is a well written book with strong characters in Mag and Nyssa. The author brings a slow burn paranormal romance and pulled me in with all the mystery and suspense. She brings a strong cast of supporting characters to help bring the story around and paints her scenes perfectly, moving the story fluidly. I loved and would highly recommend this book.

I found the arc on booksprout and thought haven't read a vampire book in ages.
Before I started I found out it was book 2 of the series.
Decided to read book 1 first.
This book can be read without reading book 1, but there are a few things that make more sense if you do.
The books are about the 6 sons of an immortal/vampire and an immortal witch. The first book was about Val(erian) and his love for a witch. This one is about Mag(novald) who owns a nightclub, occasionally drinks from humans even though he only need human blood once a year to stay alive and has his powers.
Nyssa tries to buy his nightclub over and over, even tried to get him shut down so she can purchase it for her new project. Nyssa is human and has no idea Mag is an immortal. After her half sister runs from home with a shady rapper she asks him for help getting an appointment with a mob boss to try and locate her. He helps her and promises her to get Cat back. They rescue her, get her things from her home and he even managed to get the wicked stepmother(mother of Cat) of her back. They are attracted to eachother and just when something started to blossom they were attacked and Nyssa and her sister Cat find out what he is an immortal with magic. From then on way more things happen(don't want to spoil to much) which make the story very addictive and you want to keep reading(I did read both books in one go and can't wait for the next one)
And the only thing you can do while reading is hoping they end up together and overcome everything what keeps them apart.

The books are very slow burn, full of action and the characters are well written with much depth and you learn more about the other brothers throughout the books, and more about their vanished dad.
Can't wait to dive in the story of the next brother

In Mag's words sacrament!!! What a great story! Love it... I love reading about vampires who are more than the idea of vampires and Magnovald and his brothers are it! So above the old stereotype and are trying to help people and making a difference in their little corner of the world! This time taking on demons who are trying to establish a sex trafficking ring. Am glad Nyssa got over the vampire issue to realize Mag does care and is so different than what comes to mind when someone says vampire. Cat is naive and lost.... just a young girl looking for love and acceptance but gets caught up in the wrong deal.. thankfully Nyssa cares more about Cat than her world of real estate! Lots of love, misunderstandings and rescuing! Mag comes thru time after time and shows his love for the two, Nyssa and Cat. Great story, idea and I'd love to learn more about these two and see how Cat ends up in this world! So glad the St. Armand boys are reconnecting with their mother... however she did drop a bomb and actually told them who their real father is, Ambrus the Exiled, or as the daevas know him The Banished Death! Some demon that even the deava princess is very leary of! They convince the princess to do one last favor in exchange for the damage her brother did... to make Nyssa immortal..... a great HEA and looking forward to the next story! 4 more brothers and Emme ... lots of things to look forward to!!!

The owner of a popular Montreal nightclub with the most annoying smirk... Magnovald St-Amand or Mag for short is the only one who can help this determined real estate tycoon.
When Nyssa goes to him for assistance finding her missing sister, she has to trade for it.
Being the son of an ancient vampire and a powerful witch, Mag has both a vampiric nature and magic coursing through him.
He's the perfect choice for help with the pack of daemons that currently have Catalina.
Being around Nyssa awakens inside him a fire he thought would never be stoked and brings out a protective side he never knew he had.

An action fuelled romance with plenty of fights and feelings involved.
Mag's mother is the cherry on top of the cake as far as I'm concerned and adds amusement through the rather serious plot.
The relationship between the two main characters is perfectly paced and makes you question whether they will risk it all to be together.
I greedily lapped up all this story had to offer and was fully satisfied by the end.
This was the reason I read paranormal romance and it rose to the top of my favourites list instantly.
The author is skilful and a natural master of the slow burn which keeps the reader hooked all the way through.
With magic, danger and charm all throughout, this was a fantastic standalone which will make your appetite whet for more.

A Vampire’s Sin
Nyssa Vlahos is desperate. Her thirteen-year-old step-sister is missing. She ran away with a much older man that is a rapper, Oliver LaChance. She is worried about Catalina, Cat. Nyssa’s dad remarried and had a child. The step mother does not care for Cat. Nyssa cares for Cat.
She turns to a nightclub owner named Magnovald St.-Armand. She has talked to him before. She wants to buy his building and has been reporting him for code violations for his club: Serpent Maudit. This nightclub is the trendy spot in Montreal. Nyssa tells him she will drop the code violation charges and drop her interest in buying the property.
Magnovald is the son of a powerful vampire and the legendary Ice Witch, Charlotte Callan St-Armand. He agrees to help Nyssa find her sister. They go to a funeral of an associate and learn information to rescue Cat.
Nyssa and Magnovald are attracted to each other. She knows nothing of him being a vampire. Then she and Cat are attacked by an evil mage and a daeva from Prince Norwell in the Daeva Realm. Cat over hears the men talk and discovers that Mag is a vampire. Vampires and Magic are real???
Great characters in this book. I enjoyed all the twists and turns. Mag and Nyssa just might be perfect for each other. You won’t want to put this one down. It kept me up way past my bedtime. And it was worth it!

Cool world building and the writing is good. The story has interesting elements too; magic, vampires, steamy sweet romance! I didn’t quite care for some of the characters; Nyssa took a bit of warming up to. Mainly, Nyssa’s attitude annoyed me a bit and that she’s trying to force Mal into selling his club, even though he’s repeatedly said no. Things like calling building inspectors and such on him definitely put her in a bad light for me initially; totally a lame move. I liked her a bit more as the story went on, and I do like the enemies to lovers scenario. Mal and Nyssa do end up having a good connection. I liked Mal okay, but would’ve been fine without multiple mentions of his being with many, many women. Also, I wasn’t a fan of the whole setup of Nyssa needing help “saving” her idiot 13 year old step sister that ran away with some rapper. There’s some triggering topics in this read; things with children, not a lot of detail, but still may be difficult for some to read. In the end, I appreciate Nyssa’s tenacity and her strength, and the story is an interesting one. I enjoyed the read.

This is the second book in this wonderful sub series that Marie has created She has definitely given us a world that is intricate and involved While each book can be read as a separate stand alone I would recommend that you read all of the series in order to get the full depth of the story

Nyssa Vlahos and Magnovald St.-Armand have history she wants to buy the property that holds his nightclub Serpent Maudit and she has been doing whatever she can to get it even reporting him for violations. Now she needs his help her younger half sister Catalina has taken up with an older man and Nyssa is worried about her she offers to drop all her efforts to get his building if he will help her find her sister As they spend time together the attraction between them flares but what happens when Nyssa discovers that Mags isn't what he appears to be that he is the son of a master vampire and an ice witch will that mean she walks away or can they have a future You will have to read to see

“A Vampire’s Sin” by Marie-Claude Bourque is the new fan-freaking-tastic must read book from ‘The Order of the Black Oak – Vampires #2’ ... An action-packed, paranormal page-turner from the start, with a fresh and unique storyline that kept me on the edge of my seat! ... With well-defined characters, some tough guys with hearts, and strong, take-charge women; shifters, witches & demons, good & bad vampires, full of magic, clever dialogue & amazing attention-to-detail, not to mention surprise twists, will have readers hooked just like me! ...

I never write spoilers or copy blurbs, and even tho I volunteered to read this before it’s releasing, but it was without any outside influences. Plus I do buy kindle books whenever I am able. So yes, I can honestly recommend this to adult fans of fiction & can’t wait for more books from Ms. Bourque, but I certainly will wait!

This was a powerfully steamy bad boy and corporate barracuda romance that calls to mind Larissa Ione's story "Vampire Fight Club"; (without the fight club?). Mag is utterly dreamy - the ultimate handsome tormented vampire with a painfully human heart. Nyssa unfortunately feels far too real - the woman fighting her person demons by trying to be an ice queen and a tendency to rely too much on what she knows versus what might work. I really appreciated the slow burn of the romance as Mag and Nyssa worked together to find Cat - not all relationships need to begin with fireworks. The end result? What can I say? I love seeing a family come together.

I’m a huge fan of the urban fantasy genre, and was intrigued by this premise of Immortal brothers sired by an ancient vampire but born to a witch, albeit one with incomparable power. I was somewhat disappointed then, when I found the story slow to get going and to grab my interest. Fortunately, things took a turn approximately 35% in, when the minions of the villain arrived and chaos soon followed. While some aspects of the plot played out as I expected, there were also several unique incidences. In addition, there’s plenty of magic, action & adventure, drama, angst, and some violence along with a slow burning, enemies-to-lovers romance that led to some steamy scenes.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Mag has feelings for Nyssa but other than keeping her in his life by refusing to sell her his club, he doesn't act on them. When Nyssa comes to him for help to find her 13 year old sister, he does against his better judgment. This leads to a confrontation with Prince Norwell and his minions. What Prince Norwell does is not for the mild-mannered. In a final confrontation, Norwell is defeated and brought to task by his sister. In compensation Nyssa is granted immortality in a ritual spell so she can be with her love, Mag. There is a view into the underworld depravity and the fight to correct it in this book. Both Nyssa and Mag are very strong characters that are perfect for each other.

Nyssa and Mag's Story . . .

When Nyssa’s sister goes missing and no one seems to care about it, she seeks Magnovald St-Amand's assistance. Mag is the owner of a club Nyssa has been hassling him about selling. Nyssa has no idea of the creatures that lurk in the world, so she made a good choice in asking the vampire to assist her, not knowing that is what he is. Working together to save Cat who was taken by a pack of daemons, they become attracted to each other. Can she accept that he is a vampire? Could she want even more from him now that she knows she can trust him?

The characters in the story are well-portrayed and the story line keeps the reader’s attention. Grab your copy and follow Nyssa’s journey into awakening to the existence of the supernatural world.

Great enemies to lovers story. Nyssa seeks Magnovald's assistance in locating her missing sister. Just when they think things are working out, evil keeps appearing. Mag was even willing to work with someone he hated to keep everyone and his club safe. The story is slow to get going, but worth sticking it out. Eventually they get through all the danger, and come together as a family. The characters are well developed and draw you into the story. Overall it was an interesting story about finding love and helping family. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like action and romance.

Nyssa and Magnovald are enemies first Nyssa has been willing to do anything so that Magnovald loses his club but now she needs this very dangerous man's help her step-sister Cat is missing and know one but her seems to care. What Nyssa thinks she knows isn't even close to the truth magic and vampires she never would have guessed now she's in danger and she realizes she's developed feelings for a Vampire that she used to hate. This was a good read with a good plot and Magnovald was my favorite character.

Nyssa was a thorn in Mag’s side trying to get his club to put up condos. She asked him to help her get her sister back, so he did. She found out he really was when fighting the daevas so she pulled back, but realized that he was the same person she knew with extra powers. A prince Norwell left his dimension and wanted his club for kidnapping people for his s*x trafficking. He was really strong but had to call in the “big guns” so to speak for help. Great book ready for the next book!! Had to keep reading to see if things were going to be ok!

Second book in the vampire series. Set in Montreal Canada. We get several characters from the first book but several new ones. The danger in this one may be a trigger for some. In dives into the danger teens can face with an underworld of depravity. The danger that strangers taking advantage of the youth. But our heroine will do anything to protect a loved one. This also brings new magical beings that want to takeover and use humans for their own fun. Our heroine with her own hero will face danger and death. The tension between them adds spice and heat to the story.

Contemporary issues in society dealt with by a vampire and the woman he's attracted to. Mag, though portraying the brooding alpha male, seems to be the most emotional of the St.-Amand brothers. Helping a woman, who should be his nemesis, search for her missing sister Mag becomes invested and entangled. A fantastic read with great, in depth characters.

Loved it:)This book was simply awesome. You get drawn in from page 1. The characters seem so real it's like you can see them. The story line flows seems like it can happen, well except the part that is noticeably fantasy but that's blended in perfectly. This is a great book & a great series. I recommend both :) I can't wait for next 1:)

A Vampire’s Sin has wonderfully developed characters and a fanciful paranormal romance that almost makes you believe in magic. The dysfunctional family, abuse, human trafficking and preying on children are a reflection of the horrors of the world we live in. I have really enjoyed The Order of the Black Oak books that I have read and highly recommend the series. I thank the author for an advance review copy and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Trigger warning: grooming, an illegal sex ring involving youth

This opposites attract paranormal romance kept me on my toes from start to finish. Our mysterious and sexy Mag was just the hero needed for the difficult subject matter of sexual predation. And our Nyssa was the strong woman he needed at his side.

Marie-Claude has a knack for master story telling.

Nyssa and Mag's story is exciting and steamy, from enemies to lovers with action and suspense.Bourque has created a rich supernatural world of wizards, witches, vampires and all sorts of creatures that go bump in the night. I have loved all the characters in her books. This book can be read alone, but is so much better when you have the back stories of the other characters. I love the series.

It was interesting and uplifting to know that other species are appalled by sex trafficking especially of young children. Only some Daevas demons would find it something they craved. I loved watching Nyssa turn from a cold hearted ice princess into a woman who let love in. You really nailed the behavior and attitude of the little sister as well. It was a very entertaining love story that you do so well. Waiting for more.

As expected from this author another great book in the Black Oak environment. The first book in the series was of Val’s love affair this one is of his brother Mag. It is a slow burn romance, with a mixture of different supernaturals making appearances. The story as usual has many twists and turns, and brings to light social issues of the day. Look forward to the next brother’s story.

The storyline is alluring and hooked me up right frombthe start, the world building and character description are amazing, the twists and turns if the plot with the high heat and slow burning love made this a very good paranormal story that I loved reading.
