Upon hearing the sound of "there was only one bed" trope, ten years were added to my life. In this charming companion novel to Written in the Stars, we head back to Seattle with Annie, Darcy's long time best friend intent on surprising her for the weekend. Upon learning that Darcy is out of town with Elle, Annie spends the weekend with Darcy's brother Brendon, successful app creator and believer in true love, Annie is the exact opposite, sick of the modern dating scene and tired of tryi

Hang the Moon is a truly charming sequel to Written In The Stars. It centers on Annie, Darcy's best friend who lives in Philadelphia but recently got a big promotion and will be moving to London. She decides to surprise Darcy with a visit -- only to find out that Darcy is out of town for the weekend with her girlfriend Elle. Annie ends up spending the weekend with Darcy's brother, Brendon, who is the creator of the dating app One True Pairing. He is a diehard romantic who believes in grand gestu ...more

Brendon believes in your One True Love. Annie's sick of the revolving door that many who date in the digital age are far too familiar with. Do two people coming at love from truly opposite ends of the emotional spectrum have a chance at love?

The answer—thank goodness—is yes! This was a joy to read, to return to the ensemble cast I've come to love, to get inside the mind of people-pleaser, fix-your-problems Brendon, and to meet Darcy's elusive best friend, Annie. HANG THE MOON explored different

Oh my god, what a follow-up to 2020's Written in the Stars.

I was super intrigued by Brendon in Bellefleur's first book, and I'm so smitten with the fact he gets to win over his childhood crush in this story. I do so adore a good glow-up moment when our older love interest returns and is completely like holy heck how did you get those biceps and wow I want to now climb you like a tree, what do I do with these feelings?!

Brendon being the true romantic who is out to convince Sagittarius Annie that

Hang the Moon is the companion novel to Alexandria Bellefleur’s first novel, Written in the Stars. It follows Annie as she surprises her best friend, Darcy, by visiting her in Seattle. She ends up spending a lot of time with Brendon, Darcy’s brother, as he shows her around the city. Brendon runs a dating app, is a hopeless romantic, and has had a crush on Annie since he was a kid. As they start to grow closer, Annie’s upcoming move to London becomes more difficult to accept.

I read and loved Written in the Stars. But I wanted the f/f romance which is not what this is. Also I don't want to read a romance between a brother and his sister's best friend. Especially when I found the brother to be annoying at best. ...more

First off, that cover is GORGEOUS. I just finished this and..... I loved this book SO much. This was such a smart, sexy, sweet rom-com, Bellefleur has taken several fun tropes and make it its own.

I loved this book especially because of the characters. Brendon could literally propose to me tomorrow and I'd say yes. I just adored him so much, all his six foot four inches plus he is hopeless romantic with dimples, while Annie is workaholic who wants to avoid all matters of the heart to avoid getti

A huge part of this review will be made shorter just by saying: if you want to read this you really really should read Written in the Stars before. You could get by without, but I feel like I’d be a lot more out of touch with these characters if I haven’t read Written in the Stars beforehand.

3.5 stars. I have to say I’m a bit disappointed because I absolutely loved Written in the Stars. Maybe my expectations were too high. I just had a hard time connecting with the characters. Brendon and Annie, especially Annie, were very two-dimensional. Brendon is too into finding love, Annie has given up on finding love, and that’s basically the entire story. The author spent way too much time repeating the same things instead of delving deeper into the characters. There was so much potential fo ...more

This book is for everyone who adores romantic comedies and believes in happy endings. Brendon is a true romantic. Heck he even founded a matchmaking website (similar to eHarmony - but with a broader reach). He loves all things romance and wants everyone to find love and a happily ever after. He even successfully matched his sister with her girlfriend. He's been working hard at finding his own happily ever after but hasn't found anyone he feels fireworks with. Annie works for an independent human resources firm in Philadelphia and has accepted a promotion as a managing director at their London office. She books a spur of the moment trip to Seattle to surprise her best friend, Darcy, with a visit before she moves.
Darcy’s brother Brendan is a hopeless romantic, having created a dating app, One True Pairing. He also had a major crush on Annie when he was a teenager, but now that he’s all grown up (all 6’4” of him) he’s caught her eye. When Brendon finds

This was such a nice book to finish 2020, thank you Netgalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for giving me the opportunity to read this book in advance. I spent such a good time reading this book, I smiled the entire time reading it, it was so comforting.

Annie thinks romance is dead and Brendon wants to prove her wrong and he knows a lot about romance since he created a dating app. The dynamic between these two was so delightful.
There were so many movie references that were so dear to my heart.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books for sending me an E-ARC for an honest review.

I loved Alexandria Bellefleur's first romance WRITTEN IN THE STARS, so I was really excited to read her new book. I went into this book with pretty high expectations and all of those expectations were met. This was such a beautiful, thoughtful, emotional, sexy, and fun romance! Love! I'm so glad Brendon got to stare in his own story, while we also got to catch up with Darcy and Elle. I really liked Annie in the first book, so it was a treat getting to know her better this time around. This is everything you'd basically expect and filled with so many sweet moments it was hard to stop smiling. I literally pumped my fist in the air and whisper screamed, "YES!" when the end pages revealed Margot would be the focus of a third book. These characters are hard to beat. ...more

She says romance is dead. He is out to prove her wrong.

As soon as I finished the absolutely delightful contemporary f/f romance, WRITTEN IN THE STARS, I put in a request to read the follow up book- HANG THE MOON.

A hopeless yet adoringly optimistic romantic hero paired with a jaded, reluctant bisexual heroine who is not only his childhood crush but also his sisters best friend.

This book had everything I look for in a rom-com. It's sweet and swoony with some serious spice. There are endearingly

I absolutely adored Written in the Stars so I was thrilled to receive an ARC of Hang the Moon. The book follows Annie (Darcy’s best friend) and Brendon (Darcy’s brother) who are both an absolute delight. I was happy to find Elle and Darcy both still very much in love and present in this book but in the role of side characters. That being said, this book can absolutely be read as a standalone.

I will preface this by saying l have not read Written in the Stars and had no prior knowledge of any of the characters before diving into Hang the Moon, regardless, l thoroughly enjoyed this book and firmly believe it can be read as I stand alone.

If, like me, you read Written in the Stars you not only fell in love with Darcy and Elle but also Brendon. (If you haven’t read it, go get it and thank me later.)

Brendon believes in Happily Ever After. Brendon cries at weddings, loves rom coms and believes in the power of the “grand gesture”. For someone who has built his career on being the ultimate matchmaker and created an app to do just that, Brendon still hasn’t met his “one”. Or has he? I was over the moon excited to recieve this ARC copy and intentionally saved it to be my first read in 2021. This is the sequel to "Written in the Stars" which is at the top of my reads for 2020. Hang the Moon, which takes place in the same universe as Written in the Stars, follows the relationship between Darcy’s best friend, the globe trotting Annie, and Darcy’s in-love-with-love younger brother, Brendon, who runs an online dating app. Brendan has been in love with Annie since they were kids growing up together, and now that Annie has showed up in town to visit, Brendon decides to convince her that romance is NOT dead, after all.

This was a lovely, albeit pretty standard rom-com. Belle

GAHHHHHH. I don’t have eloquent words, I can only scream my many wonderful feelings into the world. I loved this so much.

Brendon is such a good man. He’s kind, he’s sweet, he’s funny, and he pays attention. He’s incredibly pushy with a hero complex, but everyone needs flaws. I LOVE him in this book. By my love for him pales to my love for Annie in this book. She’s wonderful and there were so many things she thought or believed th

Brendon Lowell has devoted his life to fixing everyone's problems. He built a successful dating app on the premise that every person has one perfect person out there for them. Now if only he could find the perfect person for him. Brendon has been crushing on his sister's best friend, Annie, since high school. When Annie shows up in Seattle to surprise Brendon's sister (who happens to be out of town), Brendon takes it upon himself to show her the city and convince her that romance isn't dead.

Alexandria Bellefleur's next book does not disappoint! Brendon is a hopeless romantic with a (allegedly former) crush on his sister's best friend, Annie. When she comes to Seattle before moving to London, Brendon finds himself in a race to convince her that dating and love isn't the disappointment she's familiar with.

I liked this more than "Written in the Stars", I thought all the romantic tropes were a fun way to learn more about Brendon. I personally feel like Annie's character was a bit unde

I didn't read the first book so I was unprepared for the level of cuteness coming at me. The writing is witty and well-done. I knew Annie was going to be the wishy-washy waffling one (though with good reason). I also liked that Brendon was the sweet romantic since we typically see that attributed to the female characters.
