The Southern Aristocracy brought together by one woman - Dahlia Aldridge.

I had lived here most of my life in a blissful state of ignorance, surrounded by a loving family and the other residents of Wildberry Lane. Specifically, their sons - the heirs to some of the largest fortunes in the country. I had grown used to them acting as my shadows, protecting me and surrounding

A great start to the The Shadows of Wildberry Lane series I have been an avid reader of M. Sinclair's work and was excited for a contemporary RH book. Dahlia and her guys were amazing, they all demonstrated phenomenal chemistry towards each other. This book was also a very special read because of the attention it brought forth on the issue of mental health. It's refreshing to see a FMC that faces adversity.
Looking forward to following through The Shadows of Wildberry Lane series .

This book sucked!

I will now attempt to write a review the way this book was written.

This book is about a little rich community, a community of billionaires and their children. They all live together in this tiny cul-de-sac. They have known each other for years and since you know this is a RH, there is only one girl living in this cul-de-sac. I always marvel at cul de sacs , the name just rolls of the tongue, is it a French word, I don't know. Maybe I will check the origin and see how it came to

I love M Sinclair for her PNR and I was hesitant for the switch to contemporary but I was NOT disappointed at all. This is a great start to what will hopefully be an amazing series.

This book will hit you in the feels for the fmc. Pretty much everyone has dealt with bullying at some point and with technology what it is today it's worse. Online bullying is a huge issue and we see that in this book. We see how Dahlia tries to handle the bullying herself. We see how it effects every aspect of her l

I love love love this series so much and it's only the start. I got suck in from the first page itself, the first occurrence of the characters and their steadfast relationship with eachother.

Author Sinclair has always been my unicorn author for PNR, RH genres but this series is getting the top space on my shelf.
The Romance between the characters is swoonworthy...there was more to love between, loyalty.
The characters are crafted so beautifully that I could feel their pain and fear th

** i received an arc in exchange for an honest review **

gosh.. where to start? first of all, M knocked her contemporary debut out of the park. while you can’t deny that she does PNR amazingly well, she’s mostly know for her psycho MMCs and this book definitely did not disappoint.

my favorite part of this book was probably the character relationships. from how supportive the parents of each character was, to the relationships between the Hs, ugh i loved it.

This book is nothing short of a masterpiece. Dahlia is a sweet and loving 18 year old girl who encounters some very real issues that make her one of the most down to earth characters I think that I have ever read. The way that M. Sinclair handled sensitive topics such as cyber bullying, anxiety, and eating disorders; is done in such a way that it illuminates the severity of seriousness of these issues that can plague so many of us. Her boys are every young (or not young!) woman’s dreams! This st ...more

A fantastic and emotional story

Wow this book blows my mind, no matter how many times I read it. There are triggers so please be aware. This story has so many emotions that I got sucked into the story. I love the multiple pov's.

Dahlia is such a fantastic character, I really feel for her, and as you get to know her more you can see where she grows but also see how hard she struggles. I see a bit of myself in Dahlia and it draws me closer to her.

M Sinclair has made me feel so much in this book, an

I’m really enjoying this author! This is only the second book I’ve read by her, but I’m really loving her writing style. It’s very captivating and she has really strong male characters, along with the FMC.

This book was a strong read for me, if at times a little slow. I think there were points that could’ve had a tad bit less internal monologue because they definitely got their points across, but otherwise the writing was strong. Like I mentioned, I really enjoyed the way she wrote the guys, and

I really liked this contemporary from M Sinclair. Some of the story elements that she does so well in her paranormal/fantasy books - naive/troubled FMC with possessive and alpha heroes - are still there and I felt very connected to these characters and this story because of how well-drawn each one was. The connection between the main characters also shines here. There is protectiveness on both sides - them wanting to keep her safe and shield her from the darker parts of their life and her wantin ...more

Invariably, I love M.Sinclair’s work. I love the obsessive stalker-ish boyfriends, I love the female main characters, and the improbable worlds. All of it.

HOWEVER. This is not my favorite of Sinclair’s work. It felt like it lacked depth. There was a TON of writing devoted to the settings and to introspection that didn’t matter much. Because of the lack of action/dialogue, I felt like I didn’t know the boys so well.

Additionally, one of the things I love about Sinclair is that her MCs find strengt

If it's one thing you can 100% count on with Ms. Sinclair's male characters, they will be dark, obsessed and so very likable. Perfection of Suffering definitely was not lacking on that end. Relative to the heroines from her other series I've read, I think Dahlia's character really conveyed what she was enduring really well; especially on am emotional level. Her anxiety-driven ruminations and strive to 'perfect her suffering' was difficult to read, especially when one can imagine this can be rela ...more

I’ve seen Sinclair write paranormal, but she can definitely write contemporary as well! I absolutely loved this book and everything in it. This book deals with so many real issues that I found hit close to home and it destroyed me so please read the trigger warnings.
Dahlia was a realistic character who was extremely relatable for me. Not the whole rich, aristocratic aspect, but her suffering from mental and eating disorders. Her guys were dark, protective, and ultimately obsessive when it came

Shadows are everywhere but do we really what lurks in the shadows.
Sinclair’s latest book is brilliant and tears down those shadows . It takes us deep into the Southern rich elite and opens up the exclusive community that has more secrets then anyone could bury in a life time .
It’s a ticking time bomb and at the centre of the story is the current generation spearhead by Dahlia.

She keeps them together. Drawn by the love they have for her. But Dahlia is oblivious that her men will do anything and h

Before you start this please be aware it does have triggers. M Sinclair is one of my favourite authors and the perfection of suffering is no different. In fact this book embodies everything I love about her books. A strong MC and Possesive AF Harem members. I love that the MC Dahlia isn't strong in the normal sense she's not bad ass. She suffers from anxiety, depression and has eating disorder. She's Strong and she wears that inner strength like alot of M. Sinclair's more badass characters. The ...more

Good read

Sinclair is one of my favorite authors but I had a hard time with this book at the beginning. It has a great concept and amazing psychotic characters and that's the only reason I kept reading. It was torturously slow and boring until a little more than halfway through. The mc takes naive to such a whole new level that it's not believable then all of the sudden she is almost a new person. A lot of it was repetitive as far as they love, they love me not etc. Then closer to the end it bec

This book was wow. AMAZING!! A must read. M Sinclair is just perfect at writing dark psyco’s and there girl that they adore above everything. I love the characters. I love the fmc is sweet and hopefully while she gets stronger mentally I hope she stays sweet. This was just perfect and I can’t wait for the next book. This author is just amazing.
M. Sinclair is a wizard with words, alpha psychos and cavity sweet love and I'm left wanting more!

Looved It!

I will say the book started great, slowed a Smidge and went full speed ahead and I did NOT want it to stop. I felt like we had only just gotten to the goods, Dahlia and the guys were just getting everything "understood" between them and dark juicey things were just starting!

That said I LOVED the guys ABSOLUTELY loved them but I felt like we were just starting to connect to

I don’t know what to think of this novel.

As a contemporary novel, the plot was not as exciting and overarching as other books in the genre. And that’s not inherently bad. Instead, the author focused on building up the characters to show their darkness and obsession. Personally, I think this could have been executed better as the novel hinted at the harem’s darker personality, but there were more thoughts and explanations rather than actions.

The novel is close to 600 pages and elapses over a si

M.Sinclair absolutely slayed her debut contemporary RH. She seriously has the ability to suck me in to every book she has written and this was no different. Multiple POV’s, Amazing storyline, characters that you can totally relate to, all around it was an amazing read!

Dahlia she is so sweet and innocent I freaking loved her. She was going through some major issues in this book and M.Sinclair did an amazing job touching on some very real topics that are so common now a days it’s sad but brutally

The Perfection of Suffering is the first book in The Shadows of Wildberry Lane series and also my first book by author M. Sinclair, telling the story of childhood friends who just so happen to be in love with the same girl, but they have secrets and a dark side they want to protect her from, while at the same time the FMC is being bullied by unknown people. I actually liked the setting and characters, it was such a breath of fresh air to see a RH romance that has all male characters alr

Trigger Warning for the Book:(view spoiler)

What I love about it:
- I must thank M. Sinclair for she introduced us to a group of such deliciously dark, overprotective, and possessive men, and I look forward to seeing how dark they can get for Dahlia.
- Dahlia's interactions and dynamics with her men. I do enjoy how she does manage to hold her own in some ways, but (view spoiler)

This is one of best books I have ever read! I was completely consumed from beginning to end as I read this phenomenal book by the talented M. Sinclair.

This story was absolutely enthralling! The characters and dynamics between them had me completely swooning and full of fierce protectiveness for Dahlia and her men. The way they protect and love Dahlia with very breath and the way Dahlia loves every light and dark piece of her men is truly awe-inspiring. Both Dahlia and her men all play key roles

This is my first read by M. Sinclair and I really enjoyed it. I am a sucker for reverse harems with extremely bad boys in them and this had that in spades. All 6 men are different in their own way and did what they thought was best to protect the woman that they all loved, unbeknownst to her. Dahlia is very very naive and just doesn't know anything outside of the perfectly crafted bubble that her parents and now her men have built around her. This may be why she is an easy target for bullies to ...more

Must Read

I absolutely adored this book. So much in fact that it’s now one of my favourites from M Sinclair. This is her first solo contemporary book, and she absolutely smashed it, in my opinion.

From the get go, I loved Dahlia. She’s smart, nice, and her story is interesting. Adopted by a wealthy family who legit love her, and she’s surrounded by some amazing men. Okay, obviously psychotic men, but that doesn’t make them any less amazing, nope it makes them better.

Dahlia seems to struggle with b

Enjoyable read

First up I want to say something that I really liked about this book. In almost every other book where the main characters have grown up loving each other but not admitting it, the male characters almost always used that as an excuse to sleep with as many girls as possible, even though they really "love" the FMC. There has been no indication on that in this book. While the book doesn't mention experience levels of the guys, from this first book, so far, it appears that they've been
