These kinds of book always tend to the silly in many ways, but also, if well enough written, tend to be loaded with fascinating historical information and places to see. So it is with this book, which is filled with many suggested lighthouses for people to visit. And the history of the lighthouses discussed in this book are worth a read, especially for those interested in how the US built them up over the years.

And of course, the tales of ghosts are always fun. :)
