A drug dealer, who grew up in the urban core of Kansas City. A private school teacher who grew up in San Diego and dared to hire a convicted felon as his assistant coach. And the game that saved both their lives. A drama so powerful no storyteller would script the details that unfold. It all starts in a crack house on the west side of the Paseo, and in a broken low income home in east San Diego. It unfolds in a private school gymnasium, a state penitentiary, a chapel in downtown Kansas City, the Johnson County Suburbs, and a foster home.Raw with tragedy, triumph, and the Truth that can set every person free. A heart gripping story of racial reconciliation, that without question reflects the heart of God.
Loved this story two guys with seemingly different backgrounds who find commonality in so many things-especially on the blacktop basketball court. God’s presence in both of their lives weaves their stories together into a strong friendship. Couldn’t put the book down.
The story is amazing - one many stepped out, took risk and changed the trajectory of countless lives in the process. I saw it first hand yet have SO MUCH more admiration now, knowing the full details. Wow!. Well done Adam. Well lived,Derrick
