She holds a special place in my heart.

The darkest part of it.
A part I never show anyone.
From the moment we met, I wanted to show her all my scars , the need I hide inside.

The woman who wears long sleeve shirts on a hundred-degree day.
She's been away at college and when she comes home, I plan on making her mine.

One phone call.
A broken voice.
Time stands still.
And ever

February 25 2021 - Just so other people don't go into this book and get blindsided (like me), here are some trigger warnings for this story. I know some consider trigger warnings to be spoilers so I've hidden them with a spoiler tag.

Let's just say, Doc fails to save my taste for this book. I think this is the only book in the series that I DNF.

So what went wrong? Everything. The plot, the characters, the writing, the OTT cheesy that feels so forced. Everything tasted blah! I listened until the second hour of the book then I give up.

In this book, it’s revealed to us that Doc and Joanna have had feelings for each other since they first met (I want to say it was in Boomer’s book, but it’s been a while!). Joanna went back to school to finish her degree, and Doc’s waiting until she gets back to confess his feelings for her. Meanwhile, Joanna is suffering from depression, and she’s struggling in her studies.
The books in this series keep getting better and better, and I feel like Savage is much better at characterization of the

Everyone deserves an Eric in their lives! What an incredible man KL Savage wrote in Doc. I mean he is ALL that people and a bag of chips on the side! Every time one of her books lands on my kindle I get so excited because she has proven to be the queen of writing tortured, tragic, unfortunate circumstances for her leads, but always cloaked in a cloud of hope and heart. She has a special talent of creating these circumstances in and for people that don’t disappear as the journey progresses bu ...more

Hmmm. This one started off really good and dark but then...went kinda downhill from about chapter 5 onward.
It wasn’t a bad book at all but I was a little let down because it started with a bang, however, I lost interest and was flicking through pages to find the dialogue and sex scenes to keep me invested, lol.

Seriously, though, one of

I received a free ARC copy in exchange for my honest review. This is my own opinion and was not influenced by anyone.

Doc by K.L. Savage has me almost speechless. The Ruthless Kings book seven pulls back the cover to reveal the darkness in the soul of the characters. Due to circumstances beyond their control in Doc's and Joanna's lives their souls and bodies are scarred. It is not easy to read, in fact I was on the verge of tears of sadness, fear and anger from page one until I got to the last pe

We’ve read about Doc from the beginning of the series. Now we get a look into his past and why he became a Dr. Who knew Dic had a secret dark side 😈.
The kings rescued Joanna and several other women being kept prisoner by traffickers. The club took care of them and now Joanna is resuming her life. Or so they thought. Denying his attraction to the brutalized woman is his way of protecting her from his screwed up self. Little does he or any of the Kings realize that Joanna is spiraling. When Doc a

Where to begin with this tortured man? I had been intrigued by Doc since his first moment in this series and as the series continued, I wanted to know more and more about how a doctor got involved with an MC, his backstory and so much more. What we get with his story is something so heartwrenching that my soul ached for this character. Everything he had endured. Everything that he had gone through. To come out the way he is, is mind blowing. Enter Jo. Her story is just as tragic, being saved fro ...more

4.5 stars--DOC is the seventh instalment in KL Savage’s contemporary, adult RUTHLESS KINGS MC dark, erotic MC romance series focusing on the Ruthless Kings MC. This is thirty year old, Eric aka “Doc”, and twenty-one year old, college student Joanna Davis’ story line. DOC can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty . Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion.

This book was nonstop action and get your tissues ready because so much happens and it made me cry so many times . This installment of the Ruthless Kings concentrated more on action and less on romance .

The romance this time was between our resident doctor, Doc , and Joanna who was rescued from being trafficked earlier in the series . Joanna and Doc had so much hidden darkness and pain between them but together they were able to help one another live. I can’t wait to see them in the future !

A great book but a little gross but some people deserve it and some not so much.

Doc had one of the worst father's anyone could have. His Dad was also a doctor. You don't want to know how he practiced his surgery. He did have the best mom ever. One who will do that for you is the best.

Jo is one of the women that was saved by Boomer's bunch. She always wanted to be a nurse but after she was packed and ready to go is when her father sold her. At least she was saved before the worst could have.

The RUTHLESS KINGS are definitely my "ride or die". Doc is like walking and seeing a beautiful window display - it tells a story. Even though he don't talk about himself it's what you see around him that brings him to life and in his case that's Joanna.

This one has me shaking, crying and truly feeling the things that happened and their experience to deal with trauma that came from the evil of others. People they trusted tried to rob them of love and life but you can't break that spirit they carr

Joanna has her past that the Ruthless Kings helped her with and now she is putting on a great face while trying to live her life and move on. Then all that was good or what seemed to be fell apart. Oh man. I fell in love with Doc’s story. He was just… I can’t explain it. I just really really loved this story.
When you start this story, you get the background of this man. And what his father did to him, man I wanted to cry, and I loved that his mother was the one who saved him. And then he grows up to help people instead of becoming a monster like his father had been. That’s how Jo comes into the picture.

But Jo is another tortured soul, and it doesn’t seem like her life is getting any better

We finally got Doc's story! I've needed him since the start of the Ruthless Kings MC! And K. L. Savage did not disappoint!

K. L. Savage doesn't hold anything back with Doc's book. Doc is raw, gritty, and real. Sometimes you go into a book and get way more than you expected, and that's what happened with Doc. While I expected things I did not expect the pure, raw emotion this book was able to bring out. The things this man has lived through make him who he is. The darkness he carries is proof he s

K.L Savage has upped the anti with the next book in the Ruthless Kings MC series. 'DOC' is like a kaleidoscope of colors and shapes, from dark sharp edges to bright flashes of color that blow your mind away! This book is not for the faint hearted so be warned! I’ve kept up with the Ruthless Kings from the get go and this series just keeps getting better. We met all these Alpha bikers in the beginning of the series and their brotherhood and troubles have continued throughout each addition to the series with each book showcasing one of the bikers. I have known for a while that Doc's story was going to intrigue me and may I say the authors did not disappoint me. If anything they far surpassed my expectations.

Oh Doc I love you, don´t we all wish for someone like you!

I swear those prologues get me every time. Might be the most difficult part of the book to listen/read but they give you the back story of each member and the reasons that make them who they are.

I just loved everything about Doc/Eric, his love for Joanna, his relationship with his mum and why it is so special, and his devotion to his ruthless brothers. I didn´t really know what to expect going into his story as he was al

I didn't like this book, it was very... disturbing?

It began just as other books in Ruthless Kings MC series begin, hinting at Doc's past, a past which changed him forever. Then we get introduced to Joanna, one of the rescued girls from Boomer's book.
The last thing I’d want to do is tear apart our sutures.
One mistake.
That’s all it’s going to take.
And we will never heal.

Doc's book has a lot of self-harm and blood. The book had timeline issues, and I had a hard time enjoying this. Hardly any s

This is a an emotionally raw story and not for the feint of heart. Doc and Joanna both are facing demons because of their father’s but vastly different reasons. Doc had a messed up childhood and the lingering effects still show up in adulthood. Jo is different, she had a s**t childhood and it extends into adulthood. She is still affected by her demons. Will they be able to move forward together? Will two kindred souls recognize each other? This was an emotionally gripping story that I am so than ...more

Disturbing? Might be one word for this...

Not sure where to begin. There’s a reason I didn’t want to try this series. But this book's synopsis caught my attention, so I decided why not? Even knowing how dumb the club brothers' names were, or some of them at least are. Come on! Sigh. Anyway- These men are jacked up. Their screws are loose for sure.

I also didn’t need to relive a rape scene- thankfully, I decided to cut that short when I realized it was getting to be detailed. Another thing- for Do

I truly hate to give such a low rating, but I was in a state of disbelief from the very beginning.

We begin with the story of young Doc who is tortured by his father, a surgeon who uses his scalpel in horrific ways on Doc. His mother walks in on one of these sessions and kills his dad.

Then we jump to a pregnant Jo, who gives up on life, slits her wrists, and calls Doc to tell him goodbye. He’s able to get her to the hospital where she DIES on the table but is revi

This series is hands down the best I have ever read. Each book is so raw and honest, so emotional and beautiful underneath all the pain and heartbreak, and the love that always radiates off the pages? Absolutely beautiful!!!
